The Long Version: My husband's family has roots in the Maritimes, so they often travel out east. My sister-in-law went to PEI and brought us back a jar of Hot Pepper Jelly from Souris Sauces. I checked the website for the price to report in this review, lol. It was $9. She got us the "Bluefin Berry" flavour. I'm not sure why it's called that and not "Blueberry" because it's blueberry-flavoured. The main ingredients are bell peppers, sugar, jalapeno and blueberries. It's really tasty, mostly sweet with a mild spicy kick. I love using it on crackers topped with thinly sliced cucumbers. The business is relatively new, established in 2019. I like that they use natural ingredients and grow their own fruits and vegetables used in their products (without pesticides). I'm uncertain if I will ever be out in West Souris to visit their farm and shop in person, as West Souris is quite a trek from Charlottetown (where we stay when visiting PEI). Fortunately, their products are sold in certain stores in Charlottetown and also online. I love trying small batch artisan items and the hot pepper jelly from Souris Sauces was definitely a winner! We went there and it was a lackluster experience. There was a girl who looked about 12 working there who was not happy, why you ask? Well she was the only person working there there were a lot of people that wanted their Beavertail. When it got to us we ordered a Mehple (because I guess beavers can't say Maple), Maple flavored spread & maple sugar crunch. We asked her to box it because we had to hurry back to the ship we were on that had changed the time to leave earlier. I didn't get around to eating the pastry until the next morning. Hmmmm, have you had maple covered cardboard, well I have, now. It needs to be eaten right away. I don't think I will be in the mood for a beavertail again.

Tucked into the neighbourhood beside Victoria Park, this place is a gem filling in the gaps from the chain grocery stores more north and offering some fresh local and both domestic and imported artisan goods. The owners are just the most friendly and sweetest people bringing a very homey and loving vibe to all the products. So much middle eastern selection too! Fine oils and spices, eastern baked treats, and a ton of dried goods like beans and rice. They have a great selection of island produce and meats/dairy coming straight from the farms into the coolers. The freezer also features some of their own falafel or local made meal items. The aged Island cheeses and dips are fantastic too. Something real special here is the small selection of baked goods from Montreal including Fairmont Bagels!!!! I love the Markouk unleavened bread and can't wait to go back for some baked treats or baklava! Oh yes, I will indeed be a regular here!!

They are freshly made with pei potato and corn. They come in a unique variety of different flavours. The one I tried was beach bonfire. The flavour is stronger than your regular potato chips. Very flavourful but nothing too special. If you like to try multiple flavours of their product. There are deals when you buy multiple packs of chips or popcorn at a cheaper price. They also have an option for you to buy per gram. You can mix flavours there. Additionally sell lucky fox merchandise. They have totes and keychains. They fox keychains we're pretty cute. Note: These products can also be found in different stores around Prince Edward Island. Stores like Ann of green gabble sell lucky fox chips too!

The menu has some excellent variety with some clever twists on some otherwise familiar sounding dishes. We had the fish and slaw sandwich, fish tacos, and the grilled cheese. They were all absolutely delicious. My 12yr old declared the grilled cheese the best she's ever had. The fish was meaty and perfectly battered. The fish tacos had a zingy sauce and colorful mix of lettuce, black beans, and corn. It's a great stop for families as well. I'd easily drive an hour to eat at this place. They have picnic tables, a kids menu, a bouncy pad jump area, and some goats! We didn't try any of the lobster themed dishes which turned out to be a sad decision. The chef told me they catch their own lobster!! In fairness he only told me after we had eaten. Good excuse to come back. We hope this place is around for years and years to come. It's a fish shack---please do not expect anything else!! FYI: 2 Benches, no indoor seating. Crabby is very friendly and the seafood is super fresh. Here's what we had: Steamed soft shell clams--big and tasty--Amazing! Clam Chowder--This is PEI so you can expect fresh clam chowder.
