She explains treatments and options clearly and her office is quick to respond to questions/ requests. Only downside is she doesn't always keep on schedule with her appointments but that's because she spends time with each of her patients and doesn't make you feel rushed during your visit.

Yet, I was well served by two physicians in this practice, one a vascular surgeon for blood-clot issues and the other (Dr. Michael Rose) who did an small, but important outpatient procedure as a diagnostic and preventative measure. It is true that I am also married to my favorite physician at Surgical Associates of Richmond, but my review is strictly due to how the staff, physicians, and procedures impacted my life at the time I received services. They were efficient, responsive, empathetic, humble, and kind in their work. Highly recommend.

My father sees NP Kim Plummer. My father is 76 years old with congestive heart failure, diabetes, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. In November of 2022 he got very ill with a virus (dangerous for a cancer patient) & ran around 103 degrees fever for three days while we tried to get in touch with NP Plummer. After the fourth day, we finally got a phone call back (after talking to the answering service in Ohio). She told the answering service to give her about 30 minutes to call my mom back (she was the on-call doctor & it was 6am. We were ready to take him to the hospital). When she finally called, she told my mother, in a very impatient manner, that she had already called in a prescription for my dad two days ago. No one in the office, including NP Plummer, took time to inform my mother of this. When mom told NP Plummer no one had informed us, Plummer's response was "I did my part". Apparently, bedside manner was not a course she took in medical school. Don't go here. Not only is she dismissive and uncaring, but the office is completely unorganized and obviously has communication problems.

Dr. Abhishek has NP's & other speciality staff to help with cancer needs. His front office staff does their best to get your appointment's scheduled to your needs. He spent a great deal of time with me & my daughter explaining my disease process & treatment plan. My chemotherapy, mastectomy & radiation is complete. He sees me every 6 months for follow ups.

Kumar Abhishek gets ZERO stars. Does not educate patients on prescriptions properly, does not like…read moreto talk much or answer questions. He prescribed drugs that were actually removed from clinical trials temporarily due to high mortality rate. Even still, these drugs had very negative, life threatening side effects. Drugs with such adverse affects should be properly and thoroughly explained along with any/all side effects along with proper action to immediately take, should anything come up. This was not the case, patient education was not done. The education was not completed to the patient. Patient was told the drugs were not approved by the FDA yet, also told the patient they had no other options and had to try it. The patient died from the negative side effects of this particular drug and later the family found out that this drug was PROHIBITED by FDA due to high mortality rate AND the 57 negative side effects. The drug that was given, is a $4 billion dollar immune-modulator according to 2018 sales volume. Unfortunately many practitioners are given kickbacks from pharmaceutical companies for pushing for sales of these and various other drugs. Dr. Abhishek has been shown to collect over 6 figures in additional income from various pharmaceutical companies for various other "incentive" type activities.
