We had to stop. When we entered the building we were drawn into breath taking, sweeping, intense colors and a sweet dog named Lola greeted us. Unlike many galleries where we're either assailed by an artist who can't stop talking about themselves or worse, barely acknowledged, Ken Feldman introduced himself, warmly asked about us and invited us to explore his work. As we moved along we were drawn into our own New Mexico landscapes seen thru Ken's eyes and a touching story or two . We cannot boast owning a lot of original art but we were drawn to purchase one because we'd hiked that green and gold forest and wanted to feel that place in our home. My husband is telling me I'm started to sound sappy so I'd better stop. She also had the foresight to place the bride and the groom at the altar where their "good sides" would best be on display, giving them added confidence for their upcoming big day. So far, so good. On to the day of the wedding, where Siouxzen gracefully handled questions coming from many directions, and in the midst of a bustling event kept the day running seamlessly. I wanted to give her a gift certificate from this place for $300. So, I called and asked if they could do a gift certificate. They said sure. So, I asked if they could mail it to my mom's place in Taos (of course, I'd pay for the shipping/handling) because I'm getting there after Xmas and wanted it ready to give to her. She says, 'no, you'll have to come and get it.' I thought maybe she misunderstood. So, I asked, 'you're saying that for $300 you can't stick it in an envelope and drop it in a mailbox?' She said, 'that's right, you'll have to come and get it.' Then I explained that that wouldn't work as I have a 14 hour travel day to get to Taos and can't, after that, drive across town to pick this up. But she refused. Boggles the mind. I own a small business and if one of employees turned down a $300 sale because they didn't want to slip the certificate into the mail, I'd fire them. So, I asked one final time, 'you'd rather have me spend the money at Amazon than with you?" And she ghosted me after that. So, I've ordered from Amazon and won't be coming to this place. The laziness is just jaw dropping.
