Hands down one of the best coffee shops I've visited - period. Warm, cozy, and damn knowledgeable about the drinks they serve. All the skill and flavor of some of the finest third wave coffee shops anywhere in the world, but without the sterility and over designed interior that comes along with that style of coffee place. Reminded me of many of my favorite local college town coffee spots in the 90's coffee movement - just with far better coffee. I was traveling in Orilia from the US, and never expected to find my new favorite coffee spot tucked into a quiet neighborhood. The Matcha Latte my wife order was also incredible, on par with many of the better ones she recently had in Tokyo. read more

Bit and pieces of what he enjoys and love in his life: Music, Cycling, Country Life and of course Coffee/Tea. Enjoying a cup of coffee in the store is like drinking one in someone house. Excellent little coffee house tucked away in a residential neighbour hood. Great ambiance with piano player this Saturday morning. Nice little outdoor patio. Lots of different coffee types and selections. If you like Starbucks or other independent high end coffee shops. Then you should try it out. read more

Perfect cortado. That alone gets you 5 stars from me (because it's so rare), but add to that this place is an absolute gem filled with a very eclectic but cozy decor. Clearly catering to bike/motorbike and (wanna)be indie culture, its still a lovely spot to drink a perfect cup. read more

Mark IV Brothers cafe and variety in Orillia is amazing, a true gem north of Toronto. James, the barista, delivers a variety of pour over coffee options from great Toronto roasters, Pilot, Detour, and De Mello. Good luck finding a pour over anywhere else within a 100 clicks. You can grab a v60, Camper (Chemex), Fixed Gear (French Press), Aeropress, or Cold Brew. You can even ask for a butter coffee with coconut oil! I look forward to the end of the month when the cafe will receive and install their espresso machine. Additionally, James the barista will be participating in a training at De Mello Palheta coffee roasters, which will only improve his already great coffee experience at Mark IV. Bonus: spicy pork sandwiches and homemade kimchi are available. read more

Such a delightful place...homey, unpretentious, super friendly owners and fantastic coffee. The kind that makes you order another one just so you can savour the taste. You know the sort of awful orange juice-like coffee that's served at a lot of "good" coffee places? This is totally different. Their go-to is a dark roast that's rich and smooth (I think it's Brazilian), not citrusy or bitter. Great place to hang out and chat, read or write. read more
