This is a great store. Problem: My kids, my dog, and I, eat peanuts. Giant Eagle suddenly had amazing quality peanuts (in-shell). I predicted it wouldn't last. I was right. It lasted about 2 years. Now: They're horrible. Partially burned like they used to always be. Ugh. I'm done. Why does this happen? I would like to talk directly to the store and say, why are you doing this? Absolutely my favorite store. The carts roll so smoothly, there are so many gourmet specialty items, a great vegan/vegetarian selection, The sushi area, the extensive wine/spirits area has everything you need for entertaining, and the fact that you can hit Starbucks or the BAR and get a pint to sip on while shopping makes food shopping so much more enjoyable. The shopping center has several entrances so there's never any wait to get in / out and plenty of parking. The only con is a lot of their non food items (Cat food, litter, toothpaste, paper goods, etc.) are a lot more expensive than other stores so we tend to go to Walmart for those things. read more

My wife informed me my Yelp review has been deleted. I do come here tons of times a year and it's my favorite place I frequent in Cuyahoga falls. Overall it's an amazing place for grocery shopping, grabbing a bite to eat upstairs or on the patio outdoors. There's even a Starbucks too (or a coffee shop) the location is very clean and modern. This is a unique shopping experience, far different than any other grocery store in northeast Ohio. The modern aesthetic, the Starbucks, the bar area, and an outdoor patio with gas fire pit take this from a place to buy staples to a dateworthy social hub. Yes, my girlfriend and I enjoy the patio area for a glass of good wine direct from the store's shelves. My teenage daughter now finds this to be her favorite store, mainly for the bakery, crazy soda selection, and cosmetics. It's not easy to impress a 16-year-old. One comes to a grocery store for food and not necessarily aesthetics, right? Honestly, walking through the store inspires me to explore more creative cooking and unique foods. The fresh produce has never disappointed and the variety of higher quality meats and specialty foods is what you might expect from a store like this. The employees are helpful and friendly here, so I always feel welcome. I'm originally from Akron but I work out this way. The giant eagle near my house could probably be fit into the store tenfold. The amount of things in here is insane! The Starbucks is really good. The café is probably the best thing I've had. (I got a three piece chicken tender platter today and it'll probably be my lunch dinner and tomorrow's breakfast and lunch with that shows how much stuff is in it. The tenders alone are like three chicken breasts). How was the food is prepared by license chef, and they even support the local businesses! They have dry aged meat and flash frozen salmon that I've used as sashimi , and it worked perfectly! yes, Giant Eagle is slightly expensive compared to the town of From but I say it is most definitely worth it! I absolutely love the Sushi to go cooler,inside Giant East Market District! They always have a great selection and they have added so many more new options! The majority of the items are all cooked or imitation meats. So you newbies should give it a go and get out of your comfort zone... lol I lovers well because they will work with your dietary needs. Here is the tale of what changed me from absolutely loving this 5-star grocery store and encouraging all of my friends to go to it, to rarely going at all and having an overall negative view of the whole Giant Eagle chain. As a preface to this story: When I was growing up, my mom always went to multiple grocery stores each each week to buy various things from various stores. She typically did this because some things were cheaper at Marc's than Fishers while other things were cheaper at Giant Eagle than Target, etc. I always thought it was kind of silly to waste the gas money and time to go to so many places rather than just paying a little more and buying it all at Giant Eagle. So since I have been old enough to buy my own groceries I have always just gone to Giant Eagle for 95% of my grocery needs. Fast Forward to December 2014: Even though I lived only minutes away from a Giant Eagle, I fell in love with the new Market District and it became worth driving 15 minutes away to go to. This store is really is what jump-started my love of cooking in general. I started eating out less and finding that I could buy high quality ingredients and follow fancy recipes to make food even better than what I could get from most restaurants in the area. It was so fun to be able to walk in after work and check out their selection of exotic meats and hard-to-find produce. I have lost track of how many times I would spend $80+ for a weeknight meal for myself based on some of the neat things I would find there. I have bought kangaroo, quail eggs, python, rabbit, boar, various caviars, skate wing, dragon beans, fruits from all over the world and so many more fun things. But for while now they have been carrying less and less of the things that made Market District different than any regular Giant Eagle. They also used to be more than willing to consider ordering in special meat or cheese requests for me or consider a manufacturer's product request form. But now any of these requests seem to just be ignored. They also carry a nice selection of local and dry-aged meats. However it seems that more and more they are out of the dry-aged beef and since their carry so many local options they carry less and less higher end cuts such as many of the USDA Prime options. All of this slowly made me spend less and less money since there was less and less things to spend my money on but what really changed my overall opinion of Market District was that they stopped carrying the 24-packs of Dasani water so there would be less competition to their store-brand. This is literally nearly all I drink. So Market District opened up the love of cooking within me, and then removed the catalyst of what set off that flame; I was no longer able to find the interesting things that intrigued me and allowed me to creatively explore the fun world of cooking. So I started looking elsewhere. I started buying my water at Target, my ice cream from Mustard Seed and my meat from a butcher's shop or farmer's market. Then I realized that I am turning into what I thought was so silly when my mom did it; going so many different places for different things. Now clearly I am doing it for different reasons than she did since cost has never been a huge issue for me. But I have since realized that since I have to go to these other places now to get the things that I really enjoy, I may as well get everything else from these places too while I am already there. So now that I truly enjoy food and cooking I have no reason to go to Market District or any Giant Eagle any more. Much Shorter Recap: I used to almost exclusively shop at Giant Eagle and then they introduced me to and got me hooked on the fancier and more exotic aspects of cooking but then took it all away. Seems to loose a star each time we go. Really bummed that after 2 weeks they bounced their 6 for $6 wine tasting down to 3 for $5 and no longer have it as a meandering tour of the store... but crammed in the wine department. Lots of super nice people we got to know in Solon over the 16 months they have been opened... we live half way in between and would LOVE to make the Thursday wine tasting a weekly event so we could have dinner in the CF... but not after this change. The bar and food service area is wonderful... the Starbucks entrance is a great feature and the outdoor patio is huge and looks like it will be a great place to relax in the summer... but the selection of the sections that matter to us will keep us in Solon... but it is a close vote. Bulk section is tiny... Salad bar is nicer in the CF... Fresh sausage options are the same... neither store labels the back of the name tags in the fresh meat and seafood case... so expect to explain multiple times to the employees what you want... Bakery section is merged with the gelato counter and is always packed and frantic... Solon has more space and a calmer staff... Dairy section uses the nice cases with doors... but then random things are are displayed in old fashioned toss-in refrigerated cases... who has a pallet of bagged cheese off the rack and in a bin for people to paw through? Very odd. Yes, the checkout tries to tell people where to go to speed things along... the loud automated voice is VERY industrial... have been there 4 times now and can't get over feeling like cattle getting moved to the processing train. read more

This Market District deserves every bit of five stars. The chefs and catering staff are phenomenal. I worked closely with Sheree and Chef Tim for my bridal shower, rehearsal dinner AND wedding. They catered all three of my events, two of which were hosted in the Crooked River Room upstairs in the grocery store. I can't say enough how amazing everything was. The presentation, the quality, the professionalism was all outstanding. Don't hesitate to hold your next event in the Crooked River Room. You won't find quality food for a great price anywhere else. To rent out the room all you have to do is spend $150 on food and drink from there. No outside beverage or food is allowed. No problem because everything is so darn delicious from there! read more

We constantly shop at Giant Eagle Market District because we live in Cuyahoga Falls. We are thrilled with the selection of fresh fish and produce we can purchase here. We also love the social aspect of our Giant Eagle! Recently a woman in a motorized cart screamed at me in the check-out line. It seems that I had somehow given her the impression that I was "judging her" by looking towards her. I was mortified! I apologized to her but she continued to debase me in front of the crowded check-out lines. I quickly left the store. I called the store in tears and asked to speak to a manager. I was told that Giant Eagle cannot discriminate against shoppers, so there was nothing they could do to protect anyone from further harassment. If Giant Eagle is going to continue to offer a more upscale shopping experience with Market District, they also need to upgrade the help that works at these stores, otherwise they are just polishing a turd. A particular example, the employees working the deli were horrible. Two young guys who could not get orders right or people waited on in a timely manner. But then again this is an Akron thing where people are a little bit slower down here due to their "Hoopie" West Virginia heritage. This was a slow Tuesday night and it took over 10 minutes for them to wait on a handful of customers. And they sliced instead of "chip-chopping" the Isaly's chopped ham like I told them to. The cashier help was surly as well, which is pretty typical of Millennial retail workers anyway. The meat department had such a limited choice in steaks and practically had no offerings of chicken wings. the selection is really no better than a regular Giant Eagle store. The store overall is nice as Market Districts usually are but the employees are the rank and file ones that you would experience at your typical Giant Eagle. Please Wegmans, come to Northeast Ohio and save us from the talons of the Dirty Bird, they need some serious competition here . read more

For grocery shopping, absolute no. Too expensive and don't have a lot of options. I went to trader joe's two weeks ago and spent half the price and got way more. Go for a quick missed ingredient if you're in the are but not for a weekly/biweekly grocery trip. The store is set up super confusing. It's about time we got a really great grocery store in the Falls; although, this is much more than a grocery store. It's a Mecca of beautiful things! No kidding, I could do all of my Christmas shopping here! My 10-year old son & I spent an hour grabbing a few items, sampling cheese, bread, sushi, popcorn, duck breast and ice cream. After we shopped, we had some sushi rolled and we ate it upstairs and looked down at all of the excitement below. The way everything is merchandised is really spectacular. You could tell patrons at the bar were there for nibbles and drinks, not shopping. How cool that people come here to hang out! I love Acme, don't get me wrong, but this Market District appeals to me on all levels. From the beautiful reclaimed dining tables, to the variety of seating, artwork, displays, lighting, food options, sales and other foodie gadgets, this place is a shopping wonderland! Few things I picked up along the way: Tuesday night kids eat free with a paying adult. They offer free knife sharpening. They have event space upstairs to rent! I would have to say that this place is my favorite grocery store in the area. Like others have mentioned, it gives off a strong Whole Foods vibe, without as strong a price tag (as long as you enroll in their advantage card. doesn't cost you anything, and savings add up). You can score some great deals here, especially the meat selection for BOGO. Their seafood selection, both frozen and fresh, is decent as well. Although I haven't had a chance to try much, their prepared food section/food court area is always busy and smells great. A special shout-out for the Asian sauce/spice aisle. There are some quality brands (e.g. CJ) you can find here at a decent price, that you won't even be able to find in the nearby Asian grocery stores. And hey, who can argue against getting discounts on gas? read more

Giant Eagle Market District is a previously low-budget grocery store's attempt to get in on the Whole Foods trend, & I'll be honest: It's working on me. I'm a diehard, live-long Acme fan, but GEMD sells things I could never dream of buying at my usual go-to store - including hugely basic items like Brie & prosciutto, apparently. As other local chains fail to present shoppers with the level of product they seek - particularly in their efforts to keep up with more impressive, upscale areas - GEMD has a leg up. I appreciate GEMD's hot foods section, with its own checkout & everything, but it still tastes like, well, Giant Eagle food. The wok bar takes upwards of 20 minutes per dish, which is wholly unacceptable for a lunch joint, & the rest of the food (sushi excluded) is, well, just not very good. I ordered the BBQ brisket once & hardly ate any of it for all the fat on the meat; huge waste of $7. In this aspect, GEMD is trying to be a big- city Whole Foods but falling very, VERY short. That said, I'm still giving GEMD a four-star rating because it's leaps & bounds better than anything else in the Falls. You can buy brands & items here that are simply unavailable elsewhere, unless you want to travel to Cleveland, & there's something to be said for that. I love their bakery section, & they sell yogurt & fruit crisps I can't buy anywhere else - thank you, GEMD! The other exciting thing about GEMD is that it offers events, like wine tastings & painting nights & guest chefs, which you can't usually find at other venues. It also has a bar & a Starbucks, so you can sip booze or caffeine as you choose your produce. Stars for THAT because suburban grocery shopping is not necessarily the most fun chore. The cost, though, is much like Whole Goods: more expensive than you'd hope, especially in an area like this. I've regularly spent upwards of $100 here buying the sort of crap I spend $70 on at Acme. Is it worth to do one-stop-shopping AND to earn FuelPerks for everything I buy? I haven't decided yet. I'll keep shopping at GEMD because it's the best CF has got, but frankly, I hope our other grocery stores will step up so that I don't have to. read more

This is the 2nd time we've made the mistake of buying fish from GE Market District. Both times, we asked the counter if it was fresh, they replied yes & both times the fish stunk of ammonia. What's hilarious is that you call GE to complain, they want you to bring the fish back for a refund on their satisfaction guarantee. They run a pizza special from 4 to 8 pm everyday, which is advertised as $7.99 for 16-inch XL pizza with 2 toppings. It was very attractive deal and I was looking for a chance to try. However, it was complete disappointment. I would probably prefer to eat frozen pizza instead. The crust, the sauce, the cheese, and the 2 toppings, none of them were as expected. The crust was not cooked enough, the cheese had almost had no connection with the dough and hard to bite, the sauce was just a sauce, nothing special, the mushrooms and green peppers were as if they were never cooked, completely raw. On top of all these, our pizza was 14 inches, not 16, as advertised. I do not recommend their pizza and will not go back. Other nationwide pizza chains offer better pizza and better deal. I give them 2 star for their cleanliness and customer service, but I was there for their pizza, which does not deserve 2-star either. read more

They have several great money-saving plans as well, including fuelperks and eAdvantage. Josh Jones is hands-down the best cashier in the joint, if not in the whole state! What else can I say? Everyone these days wants to cash in on the "upscale grocery store" look and feel, and this is Giant Eagle's attempt to get in on the fun. It's an impressive place aesthetically speaking, and has the "wow" factor when you first walk in. A totally WholeFoodsified layout and feel, complete with etched concrete floors, high ceilings with exposed ductwork, hanging faux-rustic aisle signs, and prepared food counters everywhere. Beware, however, if you're looking for Whole Foods or Mustard Seed - level content in this new, updated format. To my eye, the stuff they sell is mainly the same, lower-tier Giant Eagle goods dressed up in sexy displays. Not a place to go if you want good quality locally-sourced meat or produce, for example, or non mass-market organic brands. If you're a Krieger person or a Mustard Seed person, stay loyal and stay local. read more

This place is where I prefer to shop. They have exotic fruits, vegetables and meats that you can't find anywhere else. This particular store has a bakery, butcher, bank, bar, Starbucks, deli, winery, and restaurant inside of it. Sushi (made fresh every day) and small take-homes (pizza, Strombolis, soups, salads, etc) are available if you don't want to cook. They have a HUGE assortment of groceries (just groceries though). Seriously, if you can't find it at Walmart or Marc's, you'll probably find it here. They are more pricey though, but it's higher quality. read more

It's hard to rate this place. One I thought the grocery store and pup were awesome. Some of the good bid brands were missing but still had good products. We saw the hot food area and thought why not. So started reading reviews and saw one that said they give the pad Thai a 4 out of 5. My favorite dish do why not. Coming from the SF bay area on vacation here I know about good pad thai. This had 90 % way too many pine nuts. All the ingredients were there but the flavor was bland. Comparing it to others I would say 2 out of 5 but for supermarket food I would give it a 2.5. read more

This is NOT a grocery store!! It has a restaurant with everything from soup and sandwiches to Pad Thai and Meatloaf! It has infused olive oils! It has a bulk salt and spice station that is just amazing. And then doesn't even take into account the PUB that is inside the store!! I was very impressed!! Was hoping for more local OHIO wines. Poor selection. Hardly no REDS to speak of from local wineries. Vitamin selection very sparse on selection. Other grocery item selection was good. Can't be all bad if you can find DIET MOUNTAIN DEW CODE RED, which has a very limited market distribution. Definitely does not stand up in the ranks with WEGMANS or JUNGLE JIM'S. There are two designs for MD stores that I've seen - this one is like the Solon location and doesn't have the expanded cafe/prepared food section like the one in Green. They do have a great eating section both indoors and outdoors, and a private room to rent with an attached patio upstairs. MD stores are not the least expensive option for groceries, but they always seem to have great quality across their store. read more
