There's plenty of juice and liquors, and a decent selection of crisps. I always have an urge to sing 'Oh my darlin' clementine' when I walk in here, so I have to tape me mouth shut and communicate by gesture. the workers though never fail to be amicable and carry on a good conversation.

I questioned the man behind the counter who was asked which company the parcel was from, and when I told his I was told they din't accept parcels from that company. I explained the email was from the parcel service DPD and the email was from them confirming delivery at the shop. He then told me to wait while he called his manager. He didn't call but instead asked my name and to see my photo ID. He then went into the store room which is less than a metre behind the counter and retrieved the parcel in less than 10 seconds. I question why he had told me the parcel was not there rather than looking and I got silence. I asked again and he told me he was new and didn't know anything about deliveries. The whole process was extremely suspicious. I would avoid having anything sent to this place.

We were both really craving a chilled glass of wine. With great urgency, I googled "wine" and found that I was standing 25 meters from a wine bar. Laithwaits (wine shop with a focus on unique international wines) boasts its own wine bar and tasting room called the Arch Bar and we got there just in time for Happy Hour. Got a couple glasses each of their dry whites and loved the variety and ability to taste them before ordering. 3£ per glass. Great place to come with groups as they have a large community style tasting table in the middle. Would definitely try and find my way back here next time I am in London!

Laithwaites is actually a massive (mainly mail order) company rather than a small independent business but it didn't have that corporate a feel to it - staff were extremely nice and friendly and made sure everyone's glasses were full at all times, which is of course essential.
