I have been coming to this church on and off for over 20 years. The pews are a little tight for when kneeling but otherwise, plenty of seating. The quality of sound is clear with the loud speakers. Priest is very nice and has been at this church nearly 20 years I think. Overall a nice place to visit.

I'm sorry the previous poster had a…read moreproblem, but being in a college town, it's pretty common knowledge that you can't just park anywhere you please and leave your car for several hours. St. George's is an Episcopal Church and they have services at 8 and 10 every Sunday. A very warm group of people and Fr. Bradley, the rector, is an engaging and intellectual speaker who always has a thought provoking homily. Coffee hour after the 10am is my favorite part of the week because of the chance to reconnect with old friends and welcome new ones who were brave enough to try a new church. If you're looking for traditional liturgy and friendly people, come give St. George's a try!

So When we went to visit friends and they told us to park in the church parking lot, we listened. There were no signs saying not to park there, private property, tow warnings, etc. Had they had signs up we wouldn't have parked there, we're not disrespectful, we follow the rules. Had there been any indication we weren't wanted there, we would have found other parking. So after spending a lovely evening with our friends, who also happen to be military members, we went to leave only to find that all 3 of our cars had been towed. Again from a lot that didn't specify not to park there at risk of tow. So I, being 8 months pregnant, thoroughly enjoyed waiting in slippers (my footwear of choice now that I'm extremely pregnant and swelling has occurred) and a vest (expecting to get into a car with heaters didn't think I needed my extremely heavy coat to just walk across the street) in 30° temperatures while waiting for another friend to pick us up and take us to the towing lot. One friend actually ended up walking there before us because there wasn't enough room in the car, and he didn't want an 8 month pregnant woman to have to have to walk, or in my case waddle, there. I think the worst part about this wasn't the $175 we each had to pay to get our cars back, or the fact that they towed our car with the parking break on so we'll have to get the breaks checked, but the fact that the the man at the towing company said they do this all the time. You would think if this was a common occurrence that they would put up signs, if anything to at least give people a heads up and save them the $175 fee. Like I said, had we known they didn't want us to park there, we most certainly wouldn't have parked there. We could have put that money towards stuff for our baby, but instead that was spent unnecessarily. Needless to say we will never be going back for maters of worship or parking. This place really left a bad taste in our mouth concerning churches, and in particular this one. TLDR: There aren't any no parking signs, but don't park here regardless. They towed our cars, us being 3 Navy guys and an 8 month pregnant woman, and we had to pay $175 each person to get our cars back. Does not seem to be an inviting place, steer clear.

There are classes on Sunday or during the week if you want to learn about God's word. There are many opportunities that are social. The music/worship team is amazing! Whether you have lived in this area all your life, or new to the area, come to Eliot Baptist Church and you will be lifted up. Love grows here. Services are Sunday morning at 9:00 am and 10:30.

We wanted to find a place that was not too big. We wanted to find a place that we felt welcomed, and that people recognized and remebered that we were there the week before. We wanted to find a place that was focused on our community which had opportunities to serve the people in it. We wanted to find a church where the Pastor preached biblically sound lessons that we could apply to our daily lives, we wanted to hear messages that made sense, messages that made us think, messages that were not sugar coated, and most importantly to us, we wanted the Pastor to teach the whole Bible, and not skip over things because it might make us feel uncomfortable, because the truth sometimes is uncomfortable even when it is the truth. My Wife and I have found all that and so much more at Hope Community Church in Dover N.H. We have been going here for a little over a year, and we are honored to call it home. If you are looking for a great church, full of fantastic people who will really care about you. This is the place. Saturday services at 6 PM often include music and Sunday services are at 8 AM and 10 AM in all but July and August when services are at 9 AM. The Rev. Susan Garrity is someone I connect with personally, professionally and spiritually....so does my 95 year old grandmother....simply amazing. This is an amazing place to find the space to explore who you are....ONWARD!

Beautiful grounds to take a beautiful walk along the coast. Along your walk there are several beautiful prayer stations to stop and reflect. You can even do some off trail type hiking through the forest. Jim in the gift shop is so kind. Such a blessing to be friends with a fellow Catholic. You will be greeted with a big smile and a warm heart! Lots of amazing blessings in the shop to look through. Mass in the chapel was awesome. Lots of cool, tribal, looking art of Mary and Joseph. I really loved this! Lots of places to pray and meditate in the chapel area. Don't forget to ask for a blessing from one of the Franciscans! Thank you St. Anthony's Franciscan Monastery for all you do. Thank you for your service to your community and most importantly to God We appreciate your example!
