Father Ron is the worst priest I have ever encountered in my life. He tried to cut off a son's…read moreeulogy of his mother during her funeral, proclaimed to the whole church he was walking out, yelled at the congregation confrontationally, and then proceeded to patronize those in the church throughout the mass. He made disgustingly degrading comments about the community of Lawrence, MA and disrespected the deceased's career working there for over 30 years. He proceeded to reprimand parishioners about how they received communion at the funeral and yell at several of them. All of this occurred after he yelled at the family of the deceased prior to the service because they were "taking up too much space". He also locked the doors before the start of the ceremony so no one else could enter. Lastly, he forbid flowers the family sent from being allowed in the church. I have never seen such disgusting behavior from someone who proclaims to be a member of the clergy and should be sharing the word of God. He should be beyond ashamed of his behavior and disgusted with his actions. My entire family was baptized and married at the Star of the Sea Church, along with several communions and confirmations. And I can confidently say I will never return to this church.

Beautiful grounds to take a beautiful walk along the coast. Along your walk there are several beautiful prayer stations to stop and reflect. You can even do some off trail type hiking through the forest. Jim in the gift shop is so kind. Such a blessing to be friends with a fellow Catholic. You will be greeted with a big smile and a warm heart! Lots of amazing blessings in the shop to look through. Mass in the chapel was awesome. Lots of cool, tribal, looking art of Mary and Joseph. I really loved this! Lots of places to pray and meditate in the chapel area. Don't forget to ask for a blessing from one of the Franciscans! It does not have a gay pride flag outside. Before I ever came to my first Service, Pastor Aaron took me to coffee to meet and welcome me. There is no gay pride flag outside.

The Star of the Sea Beach Chapel is located on Route 1A Southbound, parallel to the beach/ocean…read more The Beach Chapel has weekend mass during the summer months, generally from May 1 through October 1. Parking is off street and an issue during summer mass. If you think of arriving late to the Chapel, don't plan on it because there will be no place to park. Inside the Chapel, seats can fill quickly, so it is suggested to arrive early enough for a seat. Speaking of the seats/pews, they are not modern and very uncomfortable. The kneeler does not raise up and is bolted to the floor, so it becomes a common tripping hazard. The pews are more or less benches, and very uncomfortable. If you have difficulty kneeling or not comfortable with a small seat, you will be best to stand at the back of the Chapel. One warm days during the summer, the Chapel gets warm as well. There is no air conditioning, other than the ocean breeze. If you see a fan off, turn it on please. This Chapel is located in a good spot, just not enough parking for all the parishioners. Check the church website for the Seasonal and Off season schedule.
