The layout was decent, nothing fancy, but it was easy to navigate and find the specific theater I needed. The food area could definitely be maintained a bit better. The soda machine was a major issue; it wasn't working as it should, causing delays. The poor kids in front of us were struggling with it, and honestly, people around them were getting impatient, thinking they were fooling around. The seats were definitely a highlight, leather recliners that let you lean all the way back. Super comfortable and made the experience more enjoyable once the movie started. And thank goodness no one talked throughout the film, which really made it more enjoyable. Overall Service: The ticket seller was great and friendly, which I appreciated. However, the concession staff seemed a bit quiet and didn't engage much when I asked them questions, which felt a little off for a movie theater environment.

The UW Cinematheque has been around for 10 years so I'm a little surprised there were no reviews already for this amazing facility. What you need to know: It's Free!!! They show movies every Friday and Saturday night at 7:30pm during the Fall and Spring semesters and they have a summer series that runs on Thursdays and Fridays. They only show the best prints available, usually 35 or 16 mm on their reel to reel but they also are capable of showing BetaSP, DVD, DVCam, and VHS. It's open to everyone and they start seating at 7pm. It's first come first served so it pays to get their early.

The popcorn was a little cold and stale and about half the bowl consisted of puppy chow crumbs. It was a great combo, but the execution was not the best. I didn't take pictures of the food since it was dark, but I'm usually a fan of what I get here! I personally love their fries and pizza. Movie-wise, the chairs are comfortable. I found the theatre seating a little hard to navigate as I wasn't able to see the letters for the tow. My seat and table for food was also really confusing. It took a while for my food to arrive and when it was delivered I thought it was the person's next to me. They didn't let me know it wasn't there so my food was somewhat cold. The person with me didn't get their food for even longer. She had to push the service button and inquire about it. The food came out almost right after that and the fries were cold. Will give it another try and hopefully have my bearings and understand a little better to enjoy the experience more.

Most don't know this but at the beginning of the year, they offer a bucket of popcorn for $25, you keep the bucket and when you bring it back to enjoy more popcorn or go to the movie, it only costs $5 to fill that same bucket!! And this can be done throughout the year with that bucket. Shown in the picture is the bucket and the popcorn. The friendly staff also put the popcorn in a baggy so we wouldn't dirty the bucket on this visit. Normally concession items are super expensive at theaters. This is a great way to really save on popcorn, at theaters theater or at your home!
