The bent washer and the intact washer that were installed

I bought a Toyota from this location as the specific model was not available anywhere else. They offered a free service from the dealership, so I availed it for an oil-change. First of all, the dealership is 40 minutes drive from my home, so I booked the appointment online beforehand and they accepted it. I went there on the appointment time after driving for 40 minutes only to hear that my car is a Toyota, so they need to order the filter for it and it won't be delivered that day! Couldn't it be done when the appointment was made? On top of that, the service advisor said they won't be able to work on the car even if the filter is delivered that day as they are fully booked! Then why did they book my appointment on that day? So another 40 minute drive back home was the only way and booking another appointment with them. On the day of the 2nd appointment (another 40 minute drive one-way), I called their customer service department to make sure the filter was there. The support guy put me on hold for 10 minutes and just hung up the phone! How ridiculous! I had go through another 10 minutes call just to make sure it's gonna be there. The day after the oil-change I started seeing some oil marks at my parking place. But I didn't take it too seriously thinking it might be some spilled oil from the oil-change. But as the time passed by the drip didn't stop. I suspected they didn't screw in the drain plug properly and it kept getting loose with the vibration of the car. I called them to talk about an appointment and SUPRISE! They are fully booked! Great! But in addition to that, they are going to charge me $156 + tax to just take a look at it. A usual service department with a minimum level of decency would at least say that they'll take a look and cover it if it's their fault. Nope, not from this location. I have an immediate long drive this week and I had to fix it ASAP. So I took my car to the place I usually do all my services and they found out Markham Honda pushed 2 washer together and tightened the drain plug so hard that one of them bent and started leaking. How unprofessional can a service center for a renowned brand be that their mechanic can't do a very simple oil change properly? I usually change my car frequently and I told the salesperson that I might come back this year looking for another car. NEVER after this kind of service experience.

At pickup, the hood wouldn't open, despite their earlier promise to fix it. They charged a certification fee. Within a week, a "drive train malfunction" warning appeared. They kept the car for repairs from September 15th to the 19th. Though claimed they fixed the hood, they wouldn't specify what caused the drivetrain issue but assured its resolution. Four days later, the malfunction warning returned. Despite my concerns, the staff redirected me to their mechanic and hinted at retaliation when I expressed doubts about his honesty. All I want is a proper repair before my warranty ends and an independent inspection The Mechanic informed me that Mortoland never fixed the Hood because the cable they claimed to have replaced was not. Be careful with this place.

In late December 2025, I went to DVN Hyundai to get a new car. During the initial sales meeting…read morewith my sales advisor, Hanan Laccheb, everything was pretty normal, and we closed the deal. So far so good. My wife and I asked her whether the tires from my previous car would fit the Hyundai. She said yes. We wanted to make sure that it's a firm yes, and not a "I'll say anything to close the sale, even if it's not true." So she called one of her colleagues from the service department, to make sure, and he confirmed that the tires will indeed fit. Perfect. A few days later, she calls and says that the tires will fit, but the rims won't. A bit deceptive, but I can give her the benefit of the doubt. She then dropped a giant pile of work for me: 1. Go to my previous dealer to get my all-season tires. 2. Take those tires to Canadian Tire to get new rims 3. Take the all-season tires back to my previous dealer for storage, since I couldn't drive on them, as it was still winter. 4. In the spring, drive back to my previous dealer, to pick up the all-season tires. 5. Bring those all-season tires to Hyundai for replacement. I wasn't exactly amused to have this giant project, driving all over the city, and spending additional money that I wasn't planning on. A few days later, she messages me again, now saying that the tires won't fit, either - after telling me repeatedly that they will, and even checking with the service department. And I have it all in text. I reached out to the service manager to get this rectified, and he "kindly" told me that he'd get me additional winter tires and rims that fit for $825. But that would be added to my lease. So the original deal that I got with Hanan was a lot less sweet after that addition. Was it pure incompetence on Hanan's part, or deliberate deception? I don't know, but neither one is good. After this experience, I'm not opposed to getting another Hyundai in the future, but I will never work with Hanan Laccheb as my salesperson again. UPDATE: After I originally posted this review, I got a response from DVN Hyundai, basically apologizing, and giving me an email to reach out to, to make things right. So I wondered - did they really mean it, or was it just a corporate PR strategy of "we'll respond to our negative reviews, so that other people looking at them can see. But we don't plan to actually follow through on anything. It's just optics." To test it, I actually emailed them. No response. I emailed them a second time, and got a response. It turns out that the company responding to these isn't DVN Hyundai, but Weins. They told me to email DVN Hyundai. I did. I didn't hear back. I followed up a week later, and still didn't hear back. So the conclusion is pretty clear: any response to negative reviews is really just a corporate PR strategy, without any substance behind it. I was already displeased with DVN Hyundai to begin with, and gave it a 1-star review. With this new experience, if I could give a minus 5-star review, I would.

A very positive buying experience at Markham Mazda. I was looking for a used vehicle for my…read moredaughter. For the particular make/model we were shopping for, I visited 3 brand name dealerships. I booked online appoints for all 3. Markham Mazda was the last dealership. As with the other 2, I booked a test drive online and Krish M. (Sales person) replied very quickly. My wife and I went to the appointment, took the car out for the test drive. All 3 cars we tested were basically the same aside from vehicle color and slight price differences. Krish took the time to listen to us, explained things to us. He took the time to address additional requests we had as a good Sales person does. He was quite clear on what he could or could not do and set expectations. We were planning to buy the vehicle out right (no financing), so in this day and age, no price negotiation (they just dropped 1K off the price about 2 weeks ago) and that is basically the position of every brand dealership. It is a sellers market at the time of this review. We decided to purchase the vehicle, the main decisive factor was the overall sales experience thus far. Case in point, Kris advised the Rick D. (Financial Services Manager) wanted to know if who the ownership would be under(my daughter or myself), meaning he shared a key piece of information with Rick to avoid errors, meaning the Markham Mazda team was communicating effectively. Of course you go through the ritual of meeting the Sales Manager as well. We signed off, dropped a payment down and agreed upon a pickup date. Krish advised what the process was for the remainder of the transaction. I also got reminder email Rick which was helpful. A few days later we picked up the vehicle and my daughter was very happy, They delivered on exactly what was agreed upon and on the agreed date for pickup. A very pleasant and efficient experience. It might be Interesting enough, when I was there to pick up the vehicle with my daughter, I bumped into a former KIA sales person that I bought my last vehicle from - Hameed D.- Another excellent salesperson. Did I read reviews before I came to this dealership ? Absolutely. What I did was sort through the comments and reviewed the content - good and bad. I can say treating others politely and respectfully yields politeness and respect in return. Get negotiation dialogue in emails so it's documented, otherwise it is hearsay or a potential language/communication issue as we live in a multicultural society. Buying a big ticket item can be very emotional and many times it is what the buyer/seller feel they heard/understood. People at Car Dealerships work hard, from the Reception desk to sales people to business people to the mechanics and service operation functions. Treat them as you want to be treated, when in doubt get documentation where both parties have agreed to. And yep, sometimes people make mistakes - that makes us human. If I ever decide to buy a Mazda vehicle, this dealership will be the first dealership I visit.

I contacted the dealership in good faith and even offered to personally pay for inspection, repair, and safety certification costs. I later requested cancellation of the transaction and return of my deposit, and sent follow-up emails on April 10 and April 14. The following spring, with only 10k km on these rotors/pads, I started to notice brake performance decline with it not really biting and needing to apply a lot more pedal pressure to stop properly. Brought it back for Ivan to inspect. He said rotors had a lot of rust, however, they were all suppose to be coated which greatly increases the time for rust to form. So, for rust form so quickly and so severe to affect performance in just 8 months and with only 10K Km since install....that just doesn't add up and Ivan wasn't able or willing to offer anything (possible defective warranty etc) other than to resurface them for an extra $100-200. That really didn't make any difference. So, I ended up going back to my regular guru who replaced all the pads with Power Stop shortly after. Fixed it and it was 100% better. Not sure if the issue was with the parts, the installer or a bit of both. Things just didn't make much sense to me and Ivan wasn't really taking any initiative or making any effort help me other than charging extra to hopefully remedy my issues. Lesson learned...Will keep to my guru from now on.
