This M&S Simply Food location is small but their selections of crisps, chocolates, drink, & sweets pack a wallop. I stopped myself from buying an entire Colin the Caterpillar cake (unlike my last visit to the UK) & opted for the smaller portion of sponge cake rolls. BF picked up a bucket of Caramel Millionaires (kind of like chocolate-covered rice krispy treats) because he thought I'd like them & he was spot on. Picked up some dried strawberries because you know, health, along with some Percy Pig & Colin gummies (can't get enough of that adorable Caterpillar.) Their "Collection" range of crisps is top tier; we enjoyed both Black Truffle & Olive Oil and Prosciutto & Formaggio. We wouldn't repurchase their bottled juices & sparkling beverages; they aren't made with real sugar (the country's way of helping consumers cut calories & beat the bulge, I assume) & the artificial sweeteners leave a horrible aftertaste. Prices for some items are a tad bit higher than Sainbury's or Tesco but otherwise, we love M&S & will always make a beeline for it!

They're perfect for stopping in for a grab and go lunch, or even for a more thorough shop if the prices don't bother you. I fully recommend their "Meals in for 2" when they're running them, as they're surprisingly good value. I also like the chicken and basil pasta, the soups, the fresh breads and so on. So what's the problem? The cookies. They do these packs of about 10 all butter cookies in some really delicious flavours. Worse still, these are normally on 3 for 2 offers, so I end up buying 3 packs. That would be fine, of course, who isn't happy when they have 30 delicious cookies? I mean, it even means that you can try out all the flavours, right? Yeah, you can. Diet ruined. Completely and utterly ruined. Sure, I could share the cookies with my office mates, but we both know that isn't going to happen, don't we M&S? Joking aside, this store is ideally placed if you're on Byres Road and need to grab a few groceries. It's got a slightly weird layout that tends to cause congestion around the sandwiches and the queue for the tills is kind of slow, but it's not bad. It would be cool if they did a greater range of wine and beer but they don't have endless space. I'd also love it if they did some of their healthier snacks in individual packs as well as the multipacks they currently offer. It's kind of pricey, but it's an M&S - there are cheaper supermarkets nearby if that's what you're looking for. If you can buy in bulk a lot of their multi-buy offers are pretty good and that probably makes it more worth it. So look out for those.

This is a new addition to the hospital in the "death star" main part of the hospital. It's actually quite a small M&S but they've managed to cram a lot of stuff in and cater for many people: - It's mostly food but there is some stuff like tissues, hand sanitizer available near the checkouts - There's a sandwich section if you're a staff member/visitor looking for a quick bite - There's also ready meals etc which I imagine would be really handy if you're heading home from work/visiting and need to grab something quickly We just popped in for some bread and a little dessert treat for me. It was lunch time so it was super busy and as the shop is small, it can be hard to navigate. But people are just in and out again so it shouldn't take too long. Overall, this is a nice wee M&S which I would definitely visit again.

This is largely down to the friendliness of the staff, who are more than happy to help you negotiate what is actually a deceptively wide range of stock. As always, it's hard to argue with what M&S have to offer - the food is good and the seasonal ranges are always well thought out and interesting. It does, of course, cost a few bob extra, but somehow I don't think the locals in Milngavie who shop here will worry too much about that.

Sainsbury's on Buchanan is one of the largest Sainsbury's Local stores, I've come across, located…read moreby the Buchanan Galleries in Glasgow city centre, it's a great central supermarket for most of what you need. I was impressed by the selection in the store, with a good selection of cooked meats and dairy products including milk and cheese, tending to go beyond the usual Sainsbury's Local offering. The store is open daily until 10 pm, which is an hour earlier than most Sainsbury's Local stores in England from Monday to Saturday, as of course England is restricted by Sunday Trading laws. I wasn't a fan of the checkout area, it seemed too big and a little confusing, but the Sainsbury's Smartshop app is handy to skip the checkout as you simply scan items as you walk around the store, pay on your phone and head out. The staff weren't overly friendly or helpful, but still, it's probably the best place for groceries in Glasgow city centre in a prime central location within the city.

For a city supermarket this has everything you need for that pop-in shop on your way home from work. There's a kiosk section with the usual magazines and tobacco products, as well as fridges full of lunch-time snacks. There's a decent bakery section, good fruit and veg, lots of easy-make dinner options and a good selection of booze for when you've had a particularly long day. Granted, Sainsbury's isn't the best value of the supermarket giants, but the bakery has discounts at the end of the day and it has a lot of its own-brand cereals, frozen foods and soups etc which are significantly cheaper than the big brand names. I usually pop in during the after work rush hour, but the long queues quickly disappear and you never have to wait very long for the self-service check-outs.

There have been some bad Morrison store's that l have been to, this must be on one of the best ones…read morethat l have been to, clean, tidy, organised and not a fishy odour like some of them. Apart from your usual grocery's there is some electrical goods sold here and cd's. The drinks isle is well stocked with a good selection to choose from, with a café in store you can always grab something to eat here at lunch time or on the way home from shopping.

It's quite a decent sized store and the fruit and veg section are now really good with an excellent choice and also some more unusual items are available. The staff have always been nice when I have approached them and the store is bright and clean. It's within walking distance of my house so I frequent here most weeks for the weekly shop.

Maybe that's just me but we used to spend about £70 a week on a shop here whereas we don't spend that much at Waitrose. So yep, this supermarket only gets 2 stars but the reason I've given it a 4-star rating overall is the petrol station. PAY AT THE PUMP. Oh yeh. I love paying at the pump - so handy, so convenient, so simple, so quick. So yep, I don't mind having to get petrol here as at least it's quick in and out.

There is 2 auto banks outside on the wall. Inside there is a moving walkway leading you up to the 2nd floor which hosts the cafe. The parking is plentyfull and its under cover, that makes it easy when its wet outside. All in all this makes a great place to eat, and shop all at once.

It's surrounded by charity shops and discount furniture stores - so a slightly overpriced food store doesn't really fit in! This is a really nice supermarket, but it's not actually as big as I expected it to be. In fact, there were a couple of bits and pieces that I headed in for - but they didn't have them. I gave up and walked back to Morrison's instead!

You can't beat good old M&S food & drink - when I worked in a vegetable preparation factory as a teenager (you should have seen me in my hairnet & wellies - stunning!) I always thought it said a lot about M&S as a company that they were the only supermarket/customer to have their own, separate line for their own salad & veggies because they wanted the nicer stuff. A work colleague of mine also used to work in meat preparation and he said it was the same with their meat too - they got the better quality stuff. This has always stuck with me & in a way does (almost) justify their more expensive pricing of produce. This particular store, though not huge, has a great variety of everything: fresh foods, frozen, booze, dried/cupboard goods, fresh flowers, cards & a few items of house-ware too. I love M&S crisps and usually come here to stock up on them mostly alongside grabbing some biscuits, posh soft drinks & lovely meats on the way. Only recently I also discovered that in this store you can collect items you have purchased on the M&S website no matter how big or small, which I thought was brilliant! Saves a trip into town for me or waiting on a inevitable Royal Mail red 'We tried to deliver...' card through the door...*groan* Staff here are always helpful & pleasant (although I have found on occasion maybe more so to their loyal or elderly customers...) and the last time I was in I actually lost the ear buds from my headphones and a member of staff asked me if I was okay whilst I was looking around for them and then proceeded to help me search for them! He actually managed to find one, bless him. I thought that was really nice. It's the little things like that that make you fall in love with a shop/business and makes you vow to go back. Good old M&S.
