Mark is a nice guy. He returned my call promptly and since I just had to get rid of a sofa that was already outside on the porch, the quote was reasonable for what was a 30 second job. When I use a service like this to remove items, I don't expect to have to help lift the item! I was on a telephone call when he arrived and I handed him the cash and asked to return when he had moved the item on to his truck. He was on his own with a very small dolly, and my girlfriend saw him struggling to get the item even on to the dolly (let alone down the path). So not knowing better she went outside and helped lift on to the truck, making it the extremely simple 30 second job that it should have been - it was literally 25 yards to the sidewalk. She has a bad back and the entire reason I paid for a service was to avoid having her lift it! If I knew she lifted it, I could have had her help me put it in our SUV and dropped it off at the Erie dump ourselves for $28. Perhaps Mark could have moved it himself, but would have been a tricky task on his own. If I ever use again, I will ensure that I ask if he has help to move items. There's no point in paying for such a service if you still end up having to do the heavy lifting and pay for the privilege. I can't say this was a great experience, and can't understand why someone in this industry would turn up by themselves? After all, his ad mentions "we" in many of the services offered - I didn't assume that the "we" included me! read more
