I have used the guide and lodging services of Marlow's on the Kenai annually since 2009. I teach a wildlife and photography workshop and tour annually in Alaska and Marlow's is the only place I use for lodging on the Kenai Peninsula... they are the BEST!
They are a family owned and operated guide, lodging, and excursion service that caters to fishermen, photographers, and wildlife / bird watchers. I use their services annually for my workshop participants and I couldn't be more thrilled. Each year, they literally make my group and I feel like family. The cabins are every bit as nice as a house--with modern amenities, immaculately clean rooms, a well-appointed kitchen, and the conveniences you'd expect from home!
The Marlow's are long-time Alaskans and know the area very well. They are excellent birders, wildlife and fishing guides. Each year, I'm able to spot 60-85 species of birds in the area through the help of Ken and his family. We are even treated to eagle-watching from the nest that sits across the deck from our cabin. Their equipment, boats, gear, and facilities always seem to be in excellent condition. You can tell they have a real eye for safety and quality.
The Marlow's facilities are in a perfect location and I just can't say enough about their service. They have treated my groups and I SO well over the years that I can't imagine going anywhere else! I'm always looking forward to my annual return!
I've also used their other family-based facility in Seward, AK, "The Seward House," which is a vacation-rental style 3-bdr. furnished apartment right in Seward. It is also extremely clean, well appointed, and has a wonderful location and view.
