The boastings of Otto was the high quality ingredients and it didn't disappoint, see the individual reviews for 4 different pizzas below: Special 1 - pumpkin, pine nuts, crispy bacon, mozzarella drizzled with honey - Not too heavy and not too light. The pizza gives a Hawaiian feel, however there are no juices, but you definitely do taste the sweet glaze. Special 2 - fresh coppa, mozzarella, topped with rocket - ham, with rocket. Even though it was a special, I think it's missing a flavour, perhaps add some olives or maybe some pesto to give it an extra bang. Main 2 - Nduja, Mozzarella and tomato - spicy chilli salami paste scattered all over the pizza. It gives the pizza a nice kick, just how I like it. Main 4 - Mushroom, seared pepper, artichoke, tomato and ricotta - a unique pizza without the mozzarella, therefore it's particularly saucy but the vegetables and ricotta make up for that. I also recommend the tomato and pesto flatbread, just can't go wrong with pesto on some bread. Warm and crispy with the flavour of the pesto complimenting the bread. Service was very good, with regular staff making sure the food was ok and no problems encountered - just how it should be! I can see this place becoming not only an evening hangout but a great lunch area too! With takeouts available, there's just no way you can miss an opportunity to try Otto. Great pizza, great price. After hearing some of the Birmingham Twitterati talk about a hot new venue, I knew we had to be one of the first people to go and try it! Firstly, let's talk booking. I had messed up with the night I had originally planned to take the guys and had put the event down as a Tuesday night (when they aren't open). Erica G. had handily spotted my mistake and spurred me into action booking the venue. I messaged them via their Facebook page and got a response almost instantaneously. Although they weren't open the night I had specified, they offered to open up as a private party for us (which is available to anyone), but I figured the minimum spend of £200 might be a tad unachievable for the amount of people that wanted to come along. After a new date was decided, I got in contact and booked for 10 people. Over the next week or so, that quickly became 12 people, which became 14... On the day itself I had to change the booking for 19 people; but they were fantastic and accommodating throughout the whole process and insisted that I wasn't being a pain (which I was!). The table was booked for 7:30, but I decided it would be prudent to get down a little earlier to ensure everyone knew we were there. We were greeted warmly and shown to our large table put together to fit the majority of our group. The venue is BYOB and we were given glasses and our bottles were opened whilst we waited for everyone to arrive. The venue isn't the Ritz. It has a lovely warm charm (like sitting in someones kitchen) and the mismatched furniture, pictures on the walls and large hand-drawn chalkboard really make you feel at home. The service matches the decor... Friendly, helpful and chirpy throughout; I did feel like I'd been invited around for dinner at a friends house. When we were all ready to order, our choices were very prudently noted down next to our names and the whole process was done quickly and efficiently. Their are other options on offer, but with the Tapas being 3 dishes for £10, it's a great way to try lots of things off the menu without breaking the bank. I went for quail, gambas and meatballs and waited excitedly for the food to be bought out! The menu offers lots of meat and vegetarian choice. As we had a vegetarian dining with us, this was greatly appreciated. Whilst we were waiting we were treated to some warm bread from the kitchen... This was a lovely touch and went down a storm. Everyone's food came out fairly swiftly (no mean feat when catering for such a large group). All of my choices ended up being divine. The Quail was a WHOLE QUAIL and all of the dishes were served in delicious sauces with just the right amount of spice. I couldn't fit a dessert in at the end... I was just too stuffed. So, as a summary... The booking; easy as pie. The service; warm and friendly. The venue; welcoming and homely and the food.... Simply divine. My bill came to £10 (as described) and I would expect a meal like that would cost you at least double (if not triple) elsewhere. The restaurant is planning to open on more evenings and get a license to serve drinks. My advice is to book and try it now - before it becomes impossible to get a table.

My goodness! How good a takeaway can be? We arrived home like 20 minutes later and we set the table, in total 30 minutes. Food was warm and delicious. My spinach were completely delicious and fantastic. Absolutely nothing to complain at all. Rice and peas was proper cooked and good. They gave us some coleslaw as well. My boyfriend loved his food too, and the portions were filling enough. We paid £18 in total, I would say it's a really, really good price for the quality of the food we had. To be honest I was expecting a menu replete of very spiced ( which is always good), rich and heavy food but I was quite surprised that they have really healthy and light options as well. Obviously, some singular taste of caribbean such as Curried goat can also be found in their menu, but I really think it would be not a good idea before a night out! As this place is open almost ( if not) 24 hours on weekends, it's really is a good option at the city centre. I just tried one of their wraps to go, but I have to confess that their fish, rice and peas with beans sounds delicious. It reminds me Brazilian food in a way, so I probably will have to give it another try soon....with gig or not. Caribana's menu is vast and If you think about having lunch there I would recommend save your appetite to make most of it, trying a typical Caribbean cooking!

The eggs were solid, so I got them changed to runny ones. Its really weird seeing all the deliveries coming in to the place through the restaurant - I found it weird, anyway? The server was lovely, (Twinkle was on her name badge). I found the soundtrack though very original sounding, also quite annoying. With a static location, gigantic steel BBQ and a gorgeous rich smell which fills The Square; they're on to a winner. Big props to Dave P. who alerted me to this gem of a stall a few weeks ago. I had been meaning to try it for a while, but after seeing Dave at our CMYE on Tuesday - it was agreed that Lunch WOULD happen. And it did. And it was sooooo good. With a reasonable selection of Caribbean favorites (Ackee and Saltfish, Rice and Pea etc) it was always clear what I was going to order. Jerk chicken. The godfather of all the chicken dishes. On a rainy Wednesday in Birmingham, it couldn't have been a better choice. It was clear on this particular day that Baileys were having some cooking issues, but we rocked up and were politely told that we COULD have Jerk, but not for 10 minutes. Not a problem for us (as they'd clearly just fired up the BBQ). It gave us a chance to go and mooch at the newest deliveries into Ignite Records in the Oasis (and for me to go and drool at the Hello Kitty merch on sale nearby). Within 10 minutes, we were back and ordering. I had Rice and pea, Jerk Chicken and a little bit of veg. For £6, it was a -very- reasonably sized portion. As an added bonus, Baileys also provides a small covered seating area (with a nifty Pacman decorated bench), so you can still enjoy some sunshine food in the pouring rain. I was mightily impressed with the level of spice, the sauce and the rich flavor of the Rice and Pea. I was so blown away, it was devoured in under 5 minutes. It was -THAT- good. Baileys could now become my "go-to" place for lunch on the run. Saying that, it strikes me that as the food is fresh you sometimes might have a bit of a wait. So... Go, give it a try.
