The visitor's center has some displays and exhibits about the history and wildlife present alongside the river. There's also a movie about the area, but I didn't have the time to watch it unfortunately. There is also a small informal gift shop with the usual postcards and other souvenirs. Parking wise, there's a small paved lot right next to the building that's free to park in. The park ranger said they were going to expand the public-facing area in the future, so watch for changes.

This visitor center has a lot packed in it. There's information about the dam, Lewis and Clark, and…read morethe wildlife in the area. There is a lot of activities for children too, including how quickly someone can put on a life jacket, to dress up activities. There's some exhibits missing (related to the Native Americans), but I'm sure they're being reworked to be more culturally sensitive. There's a very impressive taxidermy exhibit. There's also viewing balconies to look at the dam and the water. It's great to people-watch the people on the water. There's a small gift shop area that sells postcards, books, and other goodies. The entrance area has a lot of brochures for information and attractions in the area.

IT's free to enter, and there is quite a bit of fun and interactive history elements. There is also a lot for the kids to do and explore. There are great views of the lake as well as the river. Just on most recent stop we didn't even go into the center, we just utilized the park and covered picnic table area. It is a little dated, but the staff is young and super friendly. Learning about the army corp is super fascinating to me, and the whole dam system, it's very informative.
