I booked my appointment vía Yelp and received a confirmation within 24 hours. About 10 days later, when it became apparent that we weren't going to be ready on our original moving day, I called and asked to reschedule. Ethan accommodated me immediately and sent me a second confirmation without any hesitation. On the day of our move the gigantic truck rolled up 15 minutes ahead of schedule and the guys got to work! And damn, did they work HARD! I was only 95% ready for them so I kept packing up the last minute things while they hauled ass up and down the flight of stairs to our second floor apartment. They took one 15 minute break (No complaints from me! They deserved that, and more!) and then went back to work. At the end of FOUR HOURS the truck was packed and we were off to the new location. The guys grabbed an incredibly fast lunch in between places and were back on the job in less time than it took for Ethan to park the truck where he wanted it and have a look around. They worked for THREE MORE HOURS - again, up and down the stairs - and even took the time to make sure our boxes got to the right rooms. The whole time they worked I didn't hear a single complaint; not even an annoyed look or tone of voice. If they complained behind our backs...WHO CARES?! They kept every interaction professional and pleasant. (If our positions had been reversed I'd have been crying the whole day because I'm weak and old! ) The whole experience was great, from beginning to end. When it was done I felt like my "thank you so much" didn't even begin to express the extent of our gratitude for the amazing job they did. The final price was reasonable and we chose to tip each guy $30 for their exceptional work. In talking to someone later, I discovered that it's not typical to tip movers and all I can say is WHY NOT?! They're working their butts off and I could never have done the move without them! Refuse to show video of workers unloading truck placing their gifts in their vehicles, including 2 14 lb. cat litters, a big pillow, a butane stove, to see if boxes were taken. Just keep saying they were delivered! Sent 2 not 3 movers, had to beg to pay $160 instead of $200. Didn't say they were sending 2. Many broken items, with photos, offended to give estimates to fix what they broke! Have to file police report and get JD to get tape to vet items. Want items back, not cash. Slept of floor for 6 nights because the 2 couldn't do the job. Cut my bed frame to get it to fit, totally unnecessary. Devastating. Just awful. Who can sleep. All of film, start to finish, but they won't acknowledge that or look at it or send footage. 100% on film, no self-report. Idona: they were delivered. But they weren't, and its filmed. *They* seem frustrated and refuse to help. Have to go to BBB and LE but don't wish to. Every day its put off by them, it's less likely to get them all back. Missing 8+boxes, but they refuse to refer to film or their counts, even. Shockingly selfish. Devastating. Zero earlier negative reviews.

Melissa did a magnificent job of backing the truck up an S-shaped 200 foot steep driveway. From that point until the truck pulled away from the new house at 5:30, she and Jason worked long and hard to get all of our possessions safely on and off the truck. They were two of the strongest and hardest workers we have ever seen. About midday, a second truck arrived with Anthony and David as reinforcements. All 4 people worked as a team, not only respecting our items and our hardwood floors, but also looking out for each other's safety as they worked. All of the crew was polite, efficient and professional. Although we hope to stay put in our new location, we would surely use Bert Hill Movers again and highly recommend them.
