Fred and Stephan were absolutely incredible, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. They helped me move my niece out of her apartment under very stressful circumstances, and from the moment they arrived, they were calm, professional, kind, and reassuring. They consistently reminded us that everything would be okay, and they meant it. This was not an easy move. The apartment was an attic unit in an older duplex with very narrow, steep stairs. There were also unexpected challenges, including needing to remove a door just to get the washer out. Fred and Stephan never complained once. They stayed focused, solution-oriented, and confident, which made an enormous difference for all of us. At one point, another tenant became upset about the U-Haul ramp being positioned in the driveway. Fred handled the situation calmly and respectfully, explaining there was enough room and offering a simple alternative route. Even when emotions were running high around us, both Fred and Stephan remained composed and professional, which helped keep the entire move on track. After loading everything, they followed us to the U-Haul storage unit and somehow managed to fit everything into a 5x9x10 unit. I truly did not think it could be done, but they packed it expertly and made full use of the space. This was an emotionally exhausting day for our family, and Fred and Stephan turned what could have been an overwhelming experience into one that felt safe, manageable, and even reassuring. Their kindness and professionalism went far beyond what I expected from movers. They also offered to help us again when my niece moves into her new apartment, and we will absolutely be calling them. If you are looking for movers who are skilled, respectful, calm under pressure, genuinely care about the people they are helping, and provide exceptional service at a fair price, Fred and Stephan are the ones you want. Consumers beware! I definitely would not recommend using this "moving company"! Unprofessional, poor communication and careless. They started 2 1/2 hours later than agreed upon. I was OK with that, these things happen.Window in the house were opened and left that way with central air on. when I questioned the employee, shrugged his shoulders and walked off. Attic left was left open with lights on with central air running. Instructions were not followed. Rather than advising me that bedding needed to be removed prior to moving the beds, the bedding was thrown on the floor in a ball and left. No mention of it. It was an extremely hot day and towards the end they were very rough and careless with items and how they were being placed. Items were dragged across the floor If you attempted to direct them in placement of furniture you got a very short response or were told " this is not the first time I've done this ". It was so bad that nobody wanted to say anything in fear they would become even more careless in how they were handling your belongings. When I sent a message expressing my dissatisfaction, I was also told it was my responsibility to remind them of things that were previously discussed. Two men and a box truck, does not a moving company make. Lesson learned! read more

Fred and team were fantastic. I saw all the reviews (every one positive) and had some doubts that they could be as good as they said, but I was wrong. The team showed up right on time and moved everything lightning fast, including breaking down some furniture. They loaded and unloaded quickly and safely, we had some large mirrors, marble tables etc all of which were completely unharmed. Fred and Gideon are the best movers we've ever hired and we have moved many times. They are prompt, efficient, thoughtful and courteous. They maneuvered large and heavy furniture up a long flight of stairs and their teamwork was something to be admired. They are in great physical shape and had no problem handling any part of the job. (This sounds weird to say but we've hired movers in the past who were out of shape, should not have been doing this type of work and ended up damaging our furniture and walls.) Expected much more with such positive reviews. I had to track them down to confirm the appointment (set through uhaul's website). My trip was 1100 miles, from MA to GA, and the truck was not packed efficiently. It was like a big pyramid inside towards the front of the truck, so everything shifted immediately. Fragile items were placed on the floor with heavy boxes ontop. Items were damaged and scratched because of how the truck was loaded. We also asked them to include our grill if they could fit it and they didn't even try... there was plenty of room to fit it in. They left 20 mins early because there was "nothing left to do." For the price we paid, I expected experienced movers that would know how to pack for a long ride. I also gave them some cash as a tip, which was a big regret. It seems their reviews are pretty outdated- most from 2 years ago. Quality has gone down since then. I'm guessing they work mostly with college kids and local moves, so if you're a family that's making a long move, I suggest seeking another option. There's plenty of moving companies in the area that will do a better job! read more

After trying to track down quotes from a couple other companies and either getting ignored or hearing crazy high rates, I found To and Fro--and I'm so glad I did. Fred answered my e-mails quickly and gave me a good quote. The move was flawless--it took two hours to empty a packed 15x5 storage unit, drive it 45 minutes, and move it into a new house. They were careful with furniture and boxes and followed all COVID protocols. Fred asked a bunch of questions about where it was OK to park and where to put things, too. I was totally at ease when my stuff was in their care. At the end, it turned out that the whole move took them less time than Fred had anticipated, so I ended up paying less than the original quote. I've hired Fred and different guys from his team a few times now for my own moves and referred friends and co-workers as well. Always reliable (they come prepared, on time, and know what they're doing). This time it was an interstate move to NYC from suburban CT. Was afraid the pricing would have been exorbitant but it was reasonable considering the time it took. They assembled the bed frame for me in the new apartment and helped figure out spacing in my new (much smaller) bedroom. And having one crew managing the packing and unloading was much easier than trying to coordinate teams between two cities. I was worried after reading another more recent review, but considering the good experiences I've had with them, I went with them again. I booked direct through their Facebook page as opposed to using the U-Haul website others mentioned so can't speak to any issues with that. It was a 3 hour trip and everything was packed logically and carefully, no issues with items breaking or scratching. I hear horror stories from friends about bad moving experiences and always recommend these guys in response. read more

I originally scheduled for it to be a three hour job, but they worked fast, got it done in just over two hours, and only billed for the two. We had a somewhat unusual situation as we needed to find a mover to move some furniture and personal belongings for my senior parents from a seldom used home in Ct to Atlanta. We needed very time-specific help packing and loading, along with time-specific unloading and move in timing.
