The kids kept asking him to play. Even the kids that were 2 and 3 years older. Even now the older kids always say good bye to him when we leave. They accommodate our schedule and have even had a couple of his speech therapy sessions there when conflicting schedules made it impossible to do at home. It is affordable and an amazing environment for him to learn and grow.

Therefore, if you're not well known and favored they are rude for no absolute reason. They send children home who are sick but expect you to be there within minutes. If not they will send your child back to class and tell you "you took too long" (I took 15 minutes). Bullying goes unreported and unresolved, leaving not just my child but others in a heightened state of stress.. at an elementary school, unsat. You would also think that with living in the mountain and not always having access to cellular service, they would follow up through emails or the apps they require you to use. This is not the case and again, the faculty treats you as if you're neglectful which is laughable considering I have walked in while faculty were yelling at a sick child (maybe it was warranted but definitely not a good look and definitely not professional). Accountability is also SEVERELY lacking which is very concerning as a parent. I have updated the school of every sickness or vacation which contributed to their absence. This is the only time they will text/call AND email but still expect a delinquent letter in the mail even after excusing them. I have also received messages at 4pm that my child did not attend school that day, which was horrifying at first considering I personally dropped them off and could not contact the school since it was after hours. I had to leave work to find my child safely at his afterschool program... this did not happen just once, but three times and they still contacted me a whole day later requesting a reason why he did not attend.... So then I have to confirm that my child was in fact at school and then they start being rude again.?

San Bernardino City school district has good people but unfortunately there's more bad apples than…read moregood ones. I contacted the supervisor, the superintendent, and school board. Regarding a school security guard putting his hands on a teenage girl. He manhandled her leaving red marks from handcuffing her and buried her arms from manhandling her. The person's i contacted seemed concerned but unfortunately just kept saying file a school police report. Which i had already done. The school police work with these security guards and are bias. They said they'd do an intensive investigation but they didn't. They just brushed it under the rug and said he was justified to use force on a small teenage girl. Im absolutely appalled by their actions. Poor girl has to have this as an experience at school where she supposed to feel safe. She's actually a good student and I feel awful that this type of incident happened. Unfortunately I was told by more students that this isn't the 1st time these guards have done this! Shame on SBSD for not following through and getting rid of these horrible security guards but then they would have to admit they were in the wrong and that never happens.

I saw a vast difference in my child once he started at soar - he became a much more outgoing child and his grades skyrocketed. My youngest has been at soar since kindergarten and is now in 8th grade, his grades are awesome and he never wants to miss school (he's really hoping for perfect attendance this year). I have referred friends, coworkers and family to soar. My co-worker moved her daughter to soar for her 7th grade year this year and said that she has also seen such a dramatic difference in her daughter's grades as well as her attitude.
