Stores like this make me happy that I have better options and preference to shopping on Amazon. There is always a long line starting from the front of the store all the way to the back. Horrendous. I went in here looking for a pair of shoes for my 29th birthday party, and this place literally looked like a tornado hit it. The shoe selection was abysmal - looked like they sold nothing but shoes for middle aged hookers, and what they did have, looked like someone was purposely hired to walk down all the shoe aisles and knock every pair of shoes onto the floor as they passed. They didn't have a single pair of shoes in my size (though, realistically, they probably did - it was probably just stocked in a section with other shoes). Completely unorganized, a total mess, and a place I don't see myself ever going back to shop in. And that's unfortunate, because I live 2 blocks away, and was hoping to be able to find something here to wear. read more

Hello Yelpers, I wanted to share my opinion on Marshalls on Ave Y. I generally like TJ Max and Marshalls because they carry varieties of clothing brands and sometimes in the midst of your searching, you might find a gold. I live nearby and goes to Marshall to check things out. Then one day, I was trying a shirt in the fitting room and came out with the shirt I tried, the number card and the hanger. When I put those down on the counter, one of the employees told me to place a shirt on a hanger and then give it to her. I was like wtf? This was my first time ever when an employee tells a customer to put a shirt back on a hanger and hand it to them. After I came out, I went to seek a manger. What's more funny is the manager's reaction. She is telling me that it is courtesy to do so. I told her it is courtesy when I feel like putting it back and hand it back. It's not courtesy when someone tells you to do it for them. I do not disrespect sales reps. I also worked as a sales rep, but it's not like the fitting room was so busy and crowded. She was talking with her coworker. After this incident, I quit going to Marshalls because of goddamn long ass line and disrespectful employees. read more

This place is a mess! All the manager I've felt with here about the different issues are useless.

Since this place was built I couldn't help but to look inside every time I pass by it. I rarely buy stuff there because you know why? The line stretches further than the great wall of china. Yes I said it. They have more than 10 register but only like 3 is open regularly with slow cashiers who chitchat and make unnecessary small talks. The line would stretch from front to the back where kitchen stuff is. I don't know about you but if you find stuff you like and then see a line that's slower than 1 lane open on a freeway after an accident you would feel like its not worth getting into that line to just buy that. Not only that but the store is just a mess overall. Stuff are never ...maybe not never but rarely in the right place. Shoes department is just chaotic overall but I don't blame their staff since they tried...it's the customers. Parking is a breeze with rooftop parking. Stuff are still expensive but less painful than retail. I seen a dress shirt sold a penny less than the listed price. What? Would I come here again? Maybe to only kill time and see what's New but In terms of buying things, no not really. There's malls like Soho and kingsplaza. read more

I have been a frequent patron of Marshalls located in Sheepsheadbay Brooklyn. The overall customer experience is trending from bad to downright horrendous as the time passes. The store is inherently short staffed any-time of the day. There is always a huge line at the cash register. The display of clothes/shoes etc is always in a state of disarray. The staff is generally apathetic towards speeding up the checkout process. A truly negative shopping experience overall. I hope they are able to clean up their act and start acting halfway professional. read more

I walked in here twice and both time I left within ten min . The lines really do go to the back and I can't imagine standing on it for long there stuff all over the floors and no organization. Wouldn't recommend anyone to go here. read more

Marshall's has a good selection of clothing for a low price. You can find anything from phone cases to shirts and joggers. The store is big. It has a private parking lot. However, the clothing is all over the place. Nothing is as organized as you want it to be. Not much employees are around to help you. When you picked out the clothing you want you notice that the line is huge. Not the best place to go to if you seek customer satisfaction. The place itself is kept clean including the bathroom. If budget is an issue than Marshall's is the place for you. Either than that I don't recommend it. read more

This is by far the worst store I have ever seen in my entire life. I get that the people want a bargain but the place is so dirty, so messy and when it's time to finally make a purchase you must wait behind 50 people. God for bid you need to return an item, you have to wait behind those 50 people as well. Definitely not worth the savings. They make so much money why can't they afford more help read more

No one should have to wait for 1 hour to pay for merchandise. There is rarely less than half hour wait to checkout, even midweek first thing when it opens. I live in neighborhood and won't shop here. I would rather get in car and go to Staten Island or Harlem. Every register is open, but still bad wait. It's not the employees, it's the people who shop here that make it bad. Kids everywhere roaming unattended, people trash the place and stand in the aisles blocking everyone. I spoke to a regional manager and she said that even the company doesn't know how to deal with this store. Go elsewhere to save your sanity. People who have never had access to buy clothing before apparently shop here and they act like it! read more

The store is ok. Clean. But I could not figure out why the lines are so long. Then after a few visits I realized that the lines are either created purposefully to shore up demand or by careless employees who can be seen chatting and taking their time when serving customers at checkout. No matter how many people are in the store be prepared for a long line which moves very slowly. However it is, I am not going to this store. They lost my business. read more

If you come on the right day and time you can find some awesome stuff here. They have a wide range of things available from clothing to shoes to home goods. Often they have brand company clothing at a very nice discounted price which is amazing. However, the store is usually packed with people and it's quite unorganized. read more

Wish I could give less than one star. This is one of the most unorganized dirty stores I've ever seen. Things are strewn all over the place. If by any chance you do find something you then realize that the line wraps all the way around the store. Complete waste of time. read more

Decent parking space on the roof. Went here on a Monday evening and there was a good amount of people shopping. There were also a lot of workers sorting things and putting things where they should be. The line to pay went quickly as well, a lot of cashiers. I haven't been here on a weekend so I don't know how busy it is. read more

Amazing customer service! Called them about a product and they put it on hold for me to pick up. Totally painless!

Employees are unbelievably rude. If you call the manager they're all in on it together, refuse to help you or solve the problem. If an employee is being rude the manager refuses to acknowledge it and rather than minding their business other employees who have NO IDEA what's happening will come and try to defend their fellow employee for being rude and offensive. This was my first time EVER at a Marshall's and trust me it was my last. Disgusting customer service. read more

The lines are always ridiculous. You need to wait like 20 minutes to pay. Even if you find something that you like in the not so organized store you get discouraged from buying it when you see the line. read more

This store is always a mess. On top of that, the employees are miserable and move like snails. I came here on a Wednesday afternoon and the line was all the way to the back of the store. I dropped my items and left. When I got to the front, there were 3 cashiers that moved like snails. Even when they are fully staffed, they still move like snails. Worst Marshall's I've ever been in. There is absolutely no order to items for sale. Barely any space to walk in because of the way the racks are layout. Awful waiting zig zag pattern line that goes on for few rows. I honestly feel like dmv is better then checkout line in this store. And, the store is extremely dirty. The stands look sticky. I love shopping here...BUT...I'm just not sure the good bargains are worth the bad shopping experience anymore. A Saturday afternoon at 4pm and I'm waiting on a line that goes down to the end of the store and turns the corner!! I was on line for 55 min when I finally reached the checkout counter! And to my horror there were only 5 REGISTERS OPEN! What type of management runs that store and doesn't adequately schedule enough associates to handle a weekend shopping day. And I guess I should add that this is like this even during the week. But even more unacceptable on the weekend. And as far as the condition of the store...that's another whole review! For the most part, the clothing and house goods are in pretty decent condition. But the shoe section, beauty section and displays are always a disaster!! The main office needs to more closely monitor its stores! Always an unhappy shopping experience!! read more

I remember all the hoopala when this place first opened - you couldn't even get in the door so I waited a couple of months for everything to cool down. What a dive! If you have all afternoon to wait in line go there! The clothing selection sucks! If you are looking for a particular item in size 32-or any size for that matter -they only have one of that item on display! Some of the merchandise looks used! There's stuff all over the floor and boxes opened by customers. The men's clothing section is practically nothing and the whole place is an overall big disappointment. Dear Marshall's management. Maybe, just maybe you would consider training your cashiers to occasionally acknowledge your presence and say "hello"? Not asking for a smile or anything, but a simple greeting would be nice. I tried to purchase a set of drinking glasses here (to complement the already purchased set that I got here earlier of the same kind). I come in, find the glasses, along with MANY other items and proceed to the register. The box did not have a price tag on it (but I clearly remember what I have paid previously). I suggest that to the lady, who is now waiting for her associate to check the price. Between the two of them they decide to make up a price - and tell me that they can only sell those to me for triple of what I paid previously. None made the attempt to actually get the price and just put them on the shelf beside them and tell me to pay for the rest of my purchase, saying those are unavailable for sale as they have no time to call other stores to get accurate price. Mind you- I am not the person to put up a fight over a stupid set of glasses but it is a question of principle.... unprofessional, rude and lazy workers - especially lady at cashier 1 place. This place is awesome!! One night i went shopping there and paid for my shopping goods. The next day i upon arriving to my job I realized that i lost my wallet. Wasnt sure if i dropped it on my way to work or worst someone took it from my bag. Went back to marshalls 3 days later out of curiosity and was relieved to find out that an employee found my wallet i dropped on my way out when i was shopping there 3 nights before. Store manager was helpful in assisting me getting back my wallet. with my cash and credit cards intact. Props to the honest staff and crew of this store location.. The line really is to the back of the store. I came here 8 PM on a Wednesday and I spent 50 minutes on line. It started by the purses when I got on, and grew to loop around the back. I would've left but I really needed what I was getting ASAP. They have about 7-8 registers yet only 3 are open while other employees are standing around chatting or talking on the phone. Meanwhile, the line is LITERALLY to the back of the store. The funny thing, is on my way there I thought it was going to be empty since's it's almost closing time on a Wednesday. HA! Not only that, but the store itself is filthy. I doubt the floor has ever been swept or mopped, and the clothes are just thrown all over the store on this filthy floor. The shoe section is a disaster as well. The "impulse purchase" section on line to the registers is a mess. This is exactly why consumers are switching to online shopping and retail is dying. Get it together Marshalls. read more

Oh, lawd is this place a wreck. I mean, every time I go in it looks like a hurricane blew through. But here's the thing, aren't almost all retail stores like this? Customers come in and they throw stuff on the floor and there aren't enough workers to run around and pick everything up. Besides the absolute mess, this place is my second favorite marshalls (first is in the target-gateway mall) because they have a fabulous selection of purses. Each marshalls has different stock depending on the neighborhood, so where I find lots of plastic on 86th street, I find lots of leather here. The other thing I like is that if an item is damaged, they'll give you a discount if you ask. I found the perfect wicker chest there but the it looked beaten up on the bottom, so they gave me an extra 15% off and I was able to make the repairs at home. I never had a problem with the customer service. Marshalls id the kind of store you go to for the hunt, or to browse. I wouldn't go there with anything specific in mind because you probably won't find it. Still, I like this one enough. Just wish it was a little easier to walk through lol read more

Disorganized and limited selection of clothing - the store is much less organized than the Marshalls stores in Manhattan. Plus THEY DON'T CLEAN THEIR FITTING ROOMS - the last time I was there, I put my clothing on the floor in the fitting room and got SOME STICKY LIQUID on my shirt. When I told them that, one of the associates said they can't leave their post to actually see what's in the fitting rooms ...so, you know, make sure noone comes in with food and drinks??? Too easy. They just don't care about the customers. AVOID at all costs. read more
