4 stars for what it is... I like it here, especially with…read morethe addition of the self check outs as I am in and out in no time. When I was younger, I never liked coming here as I felt it was a cheap, cheap place. Well, no longer. The prices are on par with everywhere else now. Selection, not outstanding but it has the basics. I have 6, floor to ceiling windows to cover and this place was a lifesaver for curtain rod needs as well as curtain selections. Including the black out ones I like and the faux linen ones. There is always fun, seasonal items and parking is always plentiful. I really like the location. I don't buy clothes here but there are a few cute things to look at. You are forced to actually, as the store leads you through the clothing to get to anything else. But, shopping for bargains is a thing of the past and upon moving back from the US, I was sticker shocked. I'll still go in for canned goods, dog food and snacks. :) It's clean and employees upon check out are always available to help if needed.

This will certainly be hanging out here more!!

Actually, they are just 1 lane of traffic, so I guess technically traffic circles, and not roundabouts, but the point is that this place is big! I like walking, and when I shop at a plaza, I usually just park somewhere and walk to all the stores, but at Grant Crossing, to shop from one end to the other, I do move my car once. Since it's not an enclosed mall, to go from one store to the next you have to go outside. Great when the weather is fair, but when it's raining or snowing or freezing cold, shopping here is not as great. There's a huge selection of stores including The Shoe Company, Bed Bath and Beyond, Urban Barn, Dollarama, Value Village, Sally Beauty Supply, Lowe's, Michael's, Homesense, Winners, and Bushtukah. They have several sit-down restaurants, among them Kal's Place, La Cucina, and Fusion House. There are fast food restaurants as well: Five Guys, Mr. Shawarma, Booster Juice, and Thai Express. They have a few banks, Natural Food Pantry (health food store), and a handful of other businesses as well (nail salon, hair salon, dental clinics, real estate agents, etc.). Worth a visit if you like shopping ;)

They're building a T&T in it that says "coming soon" on the front windows (visible from Eagleson road), but despite that phrase it has been in construction for the past 3 years, and it looks as if its gonna continue on for quite some time. Overall, this mall is so horrendous I don't think I've ever been to a worse mall in my life. Honestly, it would be more fun exploring it if it was abandoned, but seeing it as it is just hurts my eyes and brain.

It is not a shopping destination. It is a local mall that residents of Kanata go to to run errands. I think the stores keeping it alive are the grocery store (Your Independent Grocer) and the drug store (Rexall Pharma Plus). They had a Zellers once upon a time which became a Target which at the time of the writing of this review is now just space for lease. Many stores that sell fashions here are geared towards those in their 70s or older (Northern Reflections and Alia N Tanjay). For the younger generations they have Stitches and Claire's and for those in between, Reitmans and Naturalizer. So not exactly a fashionista's dream. The food court here is equally disappointing for foodies. It has a Subway, A&W and an independent teriyaki and sushi place aptly named Sushi Teriyaki (I found the food there acceptable, but not anything spectacular. It was on par with the larger chains like Teriyaki Experience). When I'm in Kanata, I may stop here for some groceries, as they tend to have some good sales at this location. This mall is in the suburbs, so lots of free parking!

Stittsville seems to have so many of these plazas, which are primarily for locals to run errands (i.e. not shopping destinations). This plaza's anchor stores are Food Basics, Shoppers Drug Mart and Toy R Us. There's also a Dollar Tree and a CAA office. There are 2 banks (BMO and TD). There's a Penningtons (plus size clothing store), a hair salon, nail salon, gym, dental clinic and animal hospital. The only dining option is Ground's Cafe. The Food Basics in this plaza is one of the nicest Food Basics I've been to. It's bright, clean, and patrons and staff are not salty, like at most Food Basics, lol. I like the Dollar Tree here as well. They have a better selection of items than other locations. The Shoppers Drug Mart is bigger than the one at the Stittsville Shopping Centre not too far away. These are the only 3 stores I've ever been to in this plaza. Lots of free parking.

Meanwhile it has a few tried and trustworthy shops in it, from the Food Basics to the Toys R Us, it also has a gym, a Shoppers Drug Mart, TD Bank, BMO, a dentist, a vet, Pennington's, a dollar store, and The Grounds Café. Interestingly enough, it seems both the banks each have a drive through! It would be nice to have a good restaurant in here (hoping for NOT a fast food), but time will tell... as I say, lots of room to grow! On the upside, I can say that The Grounds Café is one of my favourite coffee shops in the neighbourhood. So, I'm giving the mall a 3-star for now (would probably give it 3.5 if only I could) but I reserve the right to adjust the rating in the future as more stores open in the mall! Due to its proximity to home, I tend to come here on a regular basis. I can say that I like this Food Basics better than the one on Katimavik, but this one I believe gets more traffic. On a recent grocery shopping excursion, this FB ran out of one of the items that was on sale. The clerk was good enough to call the other shop to find out that they had plenty of the item on sale. Wroth it!

The deals were really good too Old Navy was solid as usual and even Lululemon had that 2 for $100 leggings thing. They have QR codes everywhere so you can just scan and join their rewards/app on the spot and get coupons while you shop which is kinda nice, didn't feel complicated. The vibe was cute too there's like a fire pit in the middle (even though it was sunny lol), music playing, and I swear I smelled mini donuts at one point with some bangers playing lol Also random tip but if you're signed up with Lindt you can get free chocolate bag for your birthday (and like up to 30 days after). Only thing is the food area is super small, like a couple spots, so don't expect a full food court. But honestly you won't really care because there's a lot to walk through. Would go back for sure.
