Unfortunately most employees as I've experienced in Chicago are only there for a paycheck, spending most of their time on their phones and the majority of employees definitely are not helpful and don't even make any effort to try to help you out. I was detained by one hostile store security person, one descent person, yet still it was under false accusations of theft, a humiliating experience that has left me deeply shaken. I visited your store to purchase a patio television, as I am currently recovering from surgery and needed an activity to occupy my time. Due to a lack of employee assistance in the electronics department, I had to locate the TV myself.  After gathering the necessary items, I proceeded to the self-checkout to pay for my purchases, as it was conveniently located near where I had parked my car. When I encountered a security tag on the television, a store employee assisted by removing it and helped complete the transaction. During the check out process,  a technical error occurred and the staff helped with the glitch. Once the other staff and I got the security rope off of the tv there was another error showing on the computer.  I started to get my payment method out, my payment process using a Walmart One Card, a technical error occurred. That employee quickly stepped in, swiped their badge, and completed the purchase for my merchandise. I never touched my card out approved the purchase even though I was in the self check out, the staff member did it all.  I was then nibly walking out and was stopped without cause in my mind,  falsely accused of not paying for the television and detained as I attempted to leave the store. Mind you,  the cashiers rang me out, the door people didn't look at my receipt but two men are coming up me seeing that I'm too go into an office,  into a little office with them.. I demand an immediate investigation and retraining into this matter, appropriate disciplinary action for the security of "profiles" , against the involved employees who didn't check the receipt as a fail safe and a formal apology for the humiliation and distress caused to me. You don't know what traumas people have been through. You can't approach anymore with a militant attitude and no humility. The short Hispanic security man asserted to me,  "he actually said to me,  had you given me your ID and cone to the office when I said,  I would've asked you to purchase it".   If this is the best in show of Walmarts , asset protection, representing your brand,  you have  a poor, subpar, meager man not able to handle the task of teamwork.  There was no common good her today.

Also, they're often out of cherry turnovers, while having ample stocks of apple turnovers. The minimum purchase is $35 for pick up and I think $65 for delivery, but don't quote me on the delivery pricing. I've never been provided expired or near expiration items. (Unlike a store down the street that could have a sister named MetalWoman's. lol) Overall, Meijer and its staff have truly saved me. I appreciate this service SO VERY MUCH.

Maybe I'm just remembering the exceptional service (not to mention the Frango Mints) of this store's "hey-day" as Fields, but the customer service in the Rockford Macy's is pretty low-class. Never enough clerks, and the ones I've run into are over-extended, unprofessional, and rude. I miss the old Marshall Field's tradition of wonderful service provided by well-trained, cheerful, and always helpful staff that had worked at the store for many years. So very sad. Leave it to Macy's to swallow up yet another great old retail icon. I won't bother with this store again when Bergner's is in the same Mall!!

I had heard that Ross had some good deals, like another discount and markdown department store in the area. They haven't been open too long and you could tell they were still working out some of the kinks. The store was a little bit disheveled. The men's jeans are on a rack next to the luggage section. Luggage was spilled over into the aisle blocking the way. Clothes were mixed in to different areas like someone picked up a large shirt and decided they didn't want and placed it in the small section. I believe that all of that is a result of the clientele and not the staff. When we were there they had staff going through the aisles trying to straighten, it's just hard. The store is organized into its various departments. It's not as well marked as other stores, but if you pay attention to the signs you can find what you are looking for and sizes rather easily. The dressing rooms where clean and the attendant was extremely helpful. They were a little slow in the checkout aisle. We stood there in a line for a long time while two staffers and a security guy where sorting clothes that either people decided not to buy or they found in the wrong areas. After about 10 minutes they opened up a second register. The prices were right. If the tags with the suggested retail price are correct, I bought a pair of jeans for $20.00 that normally cost $60.00. If you are looking to buy some designer clothes and are on a budget, it doesn't hurt to check them out. Also if they don't have something one day, come back later in the week, they get new shipments in all the time.

I typically enjoy shopping at Burlington, but this location was much little to be desired. Usually you want to see a store full of merchandise and it is part of the "welcome" that you really enjoy upon entering a store. You want to have lots to choose from, but this location looked like it was having a "everything must go sale." The men's section had clothes that were so misplaced, and normally I would understand if this was a store that had been open for awhile, but this was early in the day, and so many items were misplaced. The clothes are definitely not what they say they are, and trying clothes on is a must unless you're as skinny as a toothpick. The selection was very disappointing, and I figured being just on the outside of Chicago, they would have more to choose from, but I was sorely wrong! Even the much smaller town north of my hometown in Indiana has a better selection than this location in Rockford, IL. Needless to say, I walked out with the same amount of money that I had going in, because I didn't buy anything. Inventory needs to be done, and some organization needs to take place. As small as the selection was at this location, the organization should have been much better. I believe in you Burlington, but I just might not stop through here on my next time through.

Employees are usually nice and helpful even though right now there aren't a lot of them. It does take a little long to checkout some days. The store itself is kept clean and organized in my experience. They also carry some electronics, board games, and a few other kinds of items that you wouldn't quite expect.
