Lord knows I love Marshalls! The store is clean, well-organized, and the selection of items, along with the prices, is great. However, the service during my visit was disappointing. Only two people were working the registers while others were either on the floor or seemingly not engaged. The line was extremely long and wrapped around the store. After waiting quite a while, I had to bring it to the sales associate's attention before they finally started calling more associates to help at the register. I would still recommend this location because of the great deals and variety, but be prepared to wait in line ,patience is key! read more

The selection of home goods in the store is astronomically better than it used to be. Whoever is sourcing the furniture and accessories is doing a great job. However, the quality of clothes has declined significantly. This used to be a go-to spot for workout clothes, but no more. The selection is dismal across the board. I LOVED this Marshalls/Home Good's store sooo much. I've never seen a combined location. It was a shoppers heaven. The Marshalls had such amazing higher end products. I saw Kylie cosmetics, Kate spade, coach, MK, Karl Langford, Steve Madden, crocs, too faced makeup, etc. the store was very clean and organized. The store had a lot of hello kitty items as well. Amazing!!!! This Marshalls/Home Goods duo is huge and has an incredible selection of items. My friend and I went on a Friday afternoon and there was a lot of the trendy purses that we saw on TikTok at this location specially Juicy Couture and Steve Madden! I couldn't believe my eyes! They also had the super cute hello kitty chair along with a huge selection of hello kitty items, one of the largest selections I've ever seen. Women's clothing and shoes were also great, I got a lovely oversized Jean jacket and my friend got two pairs of crocs. I can't wait to come back in a few weeks and see what else is here, this was the best Marshall's I've ever been to. read more

Ive been coming to this marshalls for several years now. They always had such great deals. The problem I had today though, bothered me quite a bit. I had bought something here, and the checkout time was over 30 minutes. When I got to my car, I noticed a mistake and came back. I had to wait just as long to get the matter addressed. This Marshalls has reconfigured its layout a few times over the past decade. To cater to the largest customer base, shoes and women's apparel are in the front of the store closest to the entrance, while men's apparel, children's apparel, accessories, and home goods are towards the left side and back of the store. The fitting rooms, which have never been cleaned during any of my visits, are in the footwear department close to the entrance. The men's side only has two rooms, with one of them having a curtain instead of a door. Years ago, there were more and better deals to be had at this Marshalls, but recently finding a diamond in the rough has required the right timing and a bit of luck. As at other Marshalls, apparel is often hung on hangers with the wrong size markers or without price tags--which makes hunting for the right size at the perfect price point just a little bit more challenging. As some other reviewers have noted, the store personnel are mostly bodies going through the motions and clocking in for a paycheck--adequate but not particularly friendly or helpful. read more

I have been coming to this Marshals for many years (now converted to a Marshals - Homegoods) and I absolutely love it. Remember...never pay full price for fabulous! Whenever I go here it almost becomes an event because I want to purchase everything in sight! The clothes, shoes, kitchenware, and even pet items...Marshals has it all! This store is an absolute godsend during the holidays for last minute gift shopping on a budget! The dressing rooms are very clean, well lit, and spacious. The staff are always very friendly but I can't recall the last time anyone asked me for help while I was shopping. There is plenty of parking in the lot out front. read more

Ling time ago in the early 2000s I used to enjoy grabbing a coat our shirt. I remember the store being neat and many styles. Not the case at rigid location today. Not many choices and minimum sizes available. Staff is not really helpful when asking for assistance. However the good thing is they had 4 tellers open. So the wait was not long. read more

This is an average Marshalls compared to the others that I've shopped at. Their selection is rather limited especially for little boys size 6-8. I have found some nice items such as pocketbooks, shoes, coats, and work out attire in this location and everyone is usually quite pleasant within the store. Now I have shopped in here a few times but today I have to say I was a bit upset at the fact I picked up a body spray in the clearance section that was $5.50 and the got to the register area and found the same spray for $6.99. Now in my honest opinion if something was marked in the clearance section for a lower price that all of the same item should be sold for the same price . Now if it was damaged I could understand them sticking by the price . This was surely not the case for this item there was no damage and worked perfectly. The young lady helping was kind enough to ask manager if I could get price adjustment for the other items that were priced higher. The manager came back to me and said it won't ring for a lower price which I know a different price tag would have had to been provided in order to do so. Instead she came back to me and said it's because it was a new bottle. Which was BS because I'm clearly looking at the bottle and it's exactly the same . She clearly made no effort to help with it. Now any given store that would accidentally make an error in mislabeling an item would normally honor the lower price . If you look hard enough you can find hidden treasures in this discount department store. Sadly the selections haven't been that nice lately. Maybe they're waiting for the Xmas season to really boost it up? They use to have rows and rows of the scented soaps etc now it's just 1 shelf. I came here to pick up my layaway. There was an employee (very friendly from the beginning to the end) who was in the back looking for my stuff, apparently she couldn't find it. Their so happen to be a manager walking by, her name was Karen. She asked the employee if she needed help. The associate said, yes. The manager Karen proceeded to help employee look, then comes out (after about a few minutes) & says, we can't find it. She says to me, do you want to come back! I said, no I don't. It's 8:30pm, you guys close in 1hr and I live about 45mins away, can you please keep looking. She said, listen we looked and it's not there. Sometimes mistakes happen and they will accidentally put the layaways back, Im busy and have other things to do! She said, i don't no what else you want me to do! Wait, what!!!!?!?!?! She must of fell and bumped her head! I went off!!! I kept it clean because I am not the type to swear! I was more upset on how she handled the situation! Furthermore, what's the point of a layaway if you are going to lose it or an employee just randomly puts them back!!? She was so calm about it as if this happens all the time. I've shopped at the Marshalls in South Plainfield numerous times for the past two years and was there again today for various items for myself and for gifts. It is now Marshalls /Home Goods and I love the new look and added extra selection of decorative home items. I have purchased literally all kids Christmas and birthday presents here as well as other items for myself and friends and family. I have been so pleased with the items, and so have they :) I always walk away with great buys. For example, I gave my cousin a Burberry cologne boxed set of 3 in brand new plastic wrapped condition of their most popular men's fragrances for his birthday that I purchased from here a few weeks ago that I got for only $39.99. This location has never failed to disappoint me. I walk out with everything I was looking for and then some every single time. One of the cashiers even knows me by face and says hello when she sees me checking out lol. I've experienced nothing but great shopping and customer service here.
