Ara A.

Fantastic Marshall's probably the cleanest most organized that I've ever been to. They even had more designers selection. The women's shoes wasn't great but the rest was fantastic.

The returns policy is also really great across the whole TJX line of stores (Marshall's, Winners, HomeSense).

(This review was written on 2023-05-11 but couldn't be posted until Yelp approved "Union Market" on…read more2023-06-05!) Toronto's Union Station has expanded in the past 10 years. They now have zones called neighbourhoods. The newest neighbourhood is called Union Market, which opened 2023-05-09. This neighbourhood is made up of many stalls with many different vendors. Every stall is very modern. There are a few permanent vendors and 2 pop-ups on opening day. A few other vendors will open soon. There are a few lounging stalls with tables and chairs. There is even a sub-neighbourhood called Union Fresh Market! Union Market is not easy to find because it is tucked away when coming from the Union Station Subway Station. I had to ask some other vendors to point the way for me. There is "The PATH" that runs through the middle. The current stalls are south of The PATH. The stalls north of The PATH will open Sep 2023. It seems obvious to me I haven't explored Union Station since at least 2018 since I didn't know they extended The PATH into Union Station! The current vendors are: - The Alley - Patties Express - Chocollata Gourmet Brigadeiros - My Olive - Lena's Floral Design - Manotas Organics (not open yet) - Gemlet (pop-up) - Virtue Vintage (pop-up) I spoke to the staff/owners at each stall except for The Alley because they were constantly busy while I was there 16:15 to 19:30. I'm excited for Union Station. They made a modern Union Food Court many years ago, then they opened the Union Foodie Aisle in 2022, and now Union Market in.2023. The place is wheelchair accessible. There are washrooms nearby but not in Union Market. There is very little paid neighbourhood street parking, but there are paid parking lots. Review 2023-127

From their name and branding it gives an impression…read morethat they've been around for a while (give me a bit of Honest Ed's feel, I don't know why) but it's actually been about 2 years and this location near Kensington Market being their newest. When you come in, it does give a slight attic smell, which I don't mind. They told me they usually restock on Thursdays and the other location by Sterling Road usually carries even more inventory. I purchased a shiatsu massager and back up Aukey earphones that were new in package from the Ex. However, the earphones didn't work. The great thing is they are one of the few or probably only liquidators that I know that allows for a 7 day return if there's an issue. Normally most discount liquidators I've been to, it's pretty much the final sale. I wasn't able to visit within 7 days, but did send them an email with the issue with the earphones so they extended the warranty for me to come in within the end of the month to get store credit or exchange, which I'm so grateful for. Apparently they sold hundreds of those earphones and only a few came back with issues. I was able to drop by yesterday after work and decided to exchange for another shiatsu massager for my in-laws. What I appreciate about this spot is that it's relatively organized in shelves with multiple copies of an item. There are bargain bins too for $5 if you really want to search for any deals and treasures. I much prefer than other liquidators where usually things are thrown in bins and you don't know exactly what it is until you open it. The staff there was also super patient and friendly. Definitely if you're in the area peek in and see if you score any deals. They will be moving back inventory from the Ex today and the pricing seems to be the same. Though they might offer tax off discounts with cash at the Ex but not at the store.

I have a different spin on Brookfield Place. I used to work there. I worked for a major Canadian…read morebank for roughly seven months. This bank has offices scattered throughout the downtown core. We occupied the ninth floor. I loved the location. I'd take the GO train from Markham down to Union Station, and take the PATH briefly to Brookfield Place. There are a bunch of elevators that don't all go up to the same floors. You need to find the floor interval that suits where you want to go. If you are a visitor, Brookfield Place is beautiful. I remember taking a couple of Swedish colleagues to a Toronto Maple Leafs game and we passed by my old workplace. The Hockey Hall of Fame is located in Brookfield Place. I suggested that they go, as they were huge hockey fans like I am. They went the following day and absolutely loved it. My love for Starbucks is due to working at Brookfield Place. I'd drop downstairs to get a drink and take a breather. It's convenient to do a bit of shopping or grab a bite to eat. There's a food court where there are many fast food eateries. I'm sure they have changed since I was last there. There is also a Longo's Market. I'd often get cubed fruit, such as watermelon and cantaloupe, that was easy to eat at my desk to keep me content throughout the afternoon. There used to be a Marche, where you can choose from sandwiches and hot meals. I don't think it's there anymore, but it was awesome. The top floor is where you get to see the high glass ceiling and gorgeous architecture. I didn't appreciate it when I worked here because it was a fairly crazy time in my life working full-time and doing a master's degree part-time. However, when I have returned as a visitor, be it during Nuit Blanche or when I'm heading to Scotiabank Arena, I appreciate how beautiful the crystal cathedral of commerce is. My favourite memory will always be lining up with a few colleagues to get a free heart rate monitor on the first floor of Brookfield Place. We enjoyed missing a bit of work, chatting with one other, and getting a health gift in return. I gave mine to my parents and they still use it to this day. I miss Brookfield Place and the various giveaways that take place. I don't miss the job that I had or the stress that I had experienced. Luckily, I do get to drop by whenever I'm attending a concert. I was first shocked to find this hidden little gem among the strip of random stores and adult boutiques lining Yonge st at this area, but this little shop stood out among the rest . The store itself was neat and tidy, a little on the small side but jam packed with all manner of fabulous things! Its actually hard to take in everything so be prepared to spend some time perusing the racks filled with a wide range of styles and truly eclectic selection of unique pieces. New stock is shipped in every single week with many of the items available in small quantities making them less common, just like the general style of the stores clothing. With such a large array of clothing and styles its hard to think anyone would walk out empty handed; everything from jackets, bustiers and sweaters to shoes, jeans and jewelry, all extremely original pieces too. I am what you would call a "seasoned shopper" and even I was amazed at the variety, quality and above anything else affordability of everything in the store... literally EVERYTHING was on sale!!! It certainly doesn't hurt that he owner of the store is a wonderfully kind, friendly and helpful man with a no pressure sales approach and a good eye; offering excellent fashion advice. While I was shopping it had begun to pour and I had literally nothing but the clothes on my back but he was kind enough to insist that I borrow his umbrella knowing full well I would be back .... little does he know it will be so soon, I have to finish my hair tomorrow so I shall be back to return his umbrella and scour the racks once more
