I asked when and where we would meet because I had to drop my son off at camp no earlier than 7am. He actually said that he likes to start around 7 but that is not a problem. He said that he would text me the day prior with a pin for the landing. We traveled all the way from Florida to Stevens Point, I texted him on Sunday that we had arrived in town, had our license and were would be ready for him after 7am Tuesday. He responded back and sent the pin for the location in Mosinee. Guess what, Phil was not there when we got to the landing at 7:34am. We got out, I looked around and saw a truck with empty trailer and thought that he must be here and he just ran the boat up river to look around or something. I texted him at 7:38 am that we were here. We got our stuff out and poked around a bit then I told myself that I would wait till 8 to call and check. At 7:58am I called him . Well.... he left us...and was rude about it too. He even said that he waited 45 min but that is impossible if I am sitting there at 7:34. But regardless, this was all communicated. I could not drop my son off until 7am in Stevens Point, then drive about 30 min to Mosinee. That is what we did but he left his charter at the ramp. The 45x90 Geographical Marker in Wisconsin is one of those quirky, "you've got to stop here" kinds of places. The site is well done, there's a small parking area, a short walk (less than a quarter mile) on a paved path, and a big granite monument marking the spot. It's selfie gold! The nearby visitor center has a fun stamp to certify that you've been to the center of the Northern Hemisphere (bragging rights unlocked). It's not a long stop, but it's a memorable one. Combine it with a scenic drive or lunch in nearby Wausau, and you've got yourself a fun little Midwest adventure.

My mother-in-law had absolutely no idea what was going on from start to finish because none of the funeral home staff included her in on anything. As the decedent's wife, she should have had 100% say on the whole thing. She wasn't even mentioned by the Pastor that did the service. She and her children were treated like dirt. I understand divided families as she was a second wife, but there is still an order of things to maintain.
