Where to begin! Having lived in Bedford/Halifax in the 90s/early 2000s, Martha's II was a staple of our Friday nights. Their pizza and service never disappointed then, and I'm pleased to say their reputation 20 years later remains immaculate. It's still the best pizza we've had in the HRM. We fed over 20 people with a variety of their OG and Gluten Free pizzas this week, and people were raving, wondering where we ordered from! I'm happy to say we've converted many at the party to ordering their next pies from Martha's II! Their grain-free cauliflower GF crust is the best we've ever had. A very special thank you to Deep, the owner/manager, who was incredibly helpful in wrangling this massive order for us and who ensured the pizzas arrived piping hot and right on time. His attention to detail and the quality of the pizzas delivered are in a league of their own! We're so happy to have Martha's II back in our lives -- and delighted to have introduced so many friends and family to it. We'll all be back for more! read more

MAAAARTHAAAAS! My bf and I stopped ordering pizza for the longest time. We were so tired of feeling ripped off by pizza places in HRM. We were always disappointed with our orders. We feel "if you want it done right, just do it yourself" so we made pizzas homemade for the longest time. Well not tonight! We took a chance on Martha's after seeing their Instagram photos. We ordered the 12" pizza & 12" garlic finger special for $26.49. I was first impressed that they allow 6 toppings! We are not pepperoni & cheese people. We like ingredients on our pies. I ordered a works and GF with bacon and extra donair sauce. Firstly, there was no need to order extra sauce cuz these guys hook you up. They didnt give 2 ounces of sauce to use on your first two fingers and eat the rest dry. They gave me a huge cup plus an extra smaller one (which is the one I ordered). Secondly, GARLIC TOWN! AND CHEESE FO DAYS! Our first bites were garlicky, melty heaven. A final note about the GF - the donair sauce is THICC. They're not stuffing that container into the box, turning it to hot miserable water. The pizza itself was FULLY LOADED! These guys aren't throwing on 4 green peppers n' a mushroom and calling it a day. I had every topping in every bite I took. Also, I ate all my crust!! Why? Because the toppings spread to the very edges! These guys don't skimp! The pizza sauce was flavorful and plentiful. There wasnt any need to spread the extra donair sauce.. cuz that pie aint dry!! But there aint no shame in soaking up all that creamy deliciousness nonetheless. Lastly, the pizza was FULLY COOKED despite the loaded toppings. Who'd-a-thunk a pizza place could figure out NOT serving a RAW works pizza?! Mind = blown. We each ate 1 pizza slice & 2 fingers and were FULL??!?!! Marthas, if you guys consistently deliver a product like this, you have customers for life. I've ordered from marthas a few times , it has always been delicious. The most recent time I order a Hawaiian pizza and garlic fingers with Parmesan and oregano on em ... Needless to say that was pretty tasty. All their stuff is homemade and very yummy. My number one recommendation from this spot would have to be their hot hamburger!! So friggin' good!!!! It has little crispy onions on top of it and their homemade gravy is fantastic. It's pretty huge and good for sharing!!!! Their coleslaw , also handmade , is very good for those who appreciate a good coleslaw!! They have real Roasted turkey for clubs and hot turkeys while is also pretty damn perfect. I'm a big fan of places that make their own sauces and the majority of their stuff and this place is it!!! They even have a build your own salad with lots of good toppings and they make a great side for the pizza!!! read more

Have been ordering at Martha's for many years and it was decent. Today was awful. The so air meet burnt black. Almost no sauce and cold. Pizza was like eating salt. Called re. Donair and out on to manager. Instead of saying they had a new supplier threw Pete's under the bus. Didn't offer to send something I replace for donair. Have a credit, just took our name so I am sure that will be forgotten. Still Hungary. So sad. read more

This is the best pizza in Bedford and the Bedford area. They also have really good, and strangely filling poutine. My father says their donairs are top notch. More or less everything I've had there is the best around. I'd give it 5 starts if they would fix their online ordering. I've tried it about 40 times and it's never worked. It's best to just call. They have a grumpy but efficient man and an extremely nice woman who answers the phone. Delivery is fast. Also, their toppings are fresh but I wish they'd put about half as much on. read more

Such good food! They have the best pizza and poutine in Canada. We came here for one last meal before we had to head towards the airport. We made a great choice. The man working (I think he was the owner) was delightful and made sure we had our food quickly. He talked with us while we ate since we were the only customers there and even gave us directions to the airport since we were running a little late. In our hurry to get out the door, I forgot my purse and he came running out the door to give it back to me. I can not say enough good things about this place. Sir E comes here for lunch when he is in the area and wishes Martha's II was in his hood! Pizza slices are very hearty! Cut them in two (which the staff are happy to do) and got two hefty slices. Poutine was delicious due to the high quality fries and good gravy you seldom find. They also made Sir E's fries extra crispy when Sir E requested them that way. Now I must tell you all about the magnificent Donair ... Simply crushing the Donair game right now... hitting all categories + Top flight non greasy meat sliced to perfect thickness + Thick sweet sauce + Generous amounts of fresh tomoto and onion + No sloppy mess, just the best They even cooked Sir E's Donair meat extra-crispy, cuz Sir E like it like dat. Their burgers are good, their pizza is fine, but if we're talking Martha's we're talking donair and poutine! They have the best donair and poutine of any place in HRM (that I've tried so far, and I've tried quite a few but I'm always open to recommendations). Now you may have read my Rocky Lake Pizza review or just be generally skeptical of that last sentence. To qualify I do prefer Rock Lake Pizza's donair to Martha's, but Martha's is second in donair and their poutine (my personal favourite in HRM) is enough better that it makes up for the difference in donair. To not try their donair and poutine would be to do yourself a disservice. read more

I've been a long-time fan of Martha's when they used to be in the Sobeys parking lot at Bedford Hwy and Hammonds Plains Rd. and I was saddened when they closed-down. But now they're back and just a bit up the road on Bedford Hwy across from Clearwater Seafoods. The new spot sort of sucks for parking especially since there's another restaurant beside them, but the pizza is just as good and there are a few familiar faces working there & running the place. Later in the night you can always use the parking lot next door at that insurance place :) Love!! their pepperoni thin slice. read more

While in the area, I was looking around for something to eat, and was thankful I found Marthas! I recall going to the original Martha's a long time ago and really enjoying it, and this was no different. I got a medium works pizza. I didn't pay, but I think it came to like $20, which is a bit steep but i'd say its worth it. The medium was enough for 3 people easily, they PILE the toppings on. The crust was just how I like it, not super thick and doughy but not thin either, with the right amount of crispiness. It also had a bit of sweetness to it which I really like. The sauce is what made this pizza great for me, it was chunky and tomatoey and really stood out. If I was in the area I absolutely would not hesitate to order Martha's again! read more

Went and got a slice today with my client, they never told us their pizza warmer wasn't working and sold us pizza anyways. We had already paid before the wrapped our slices up, and never once offered to warm it. Needless to say I left disgusted and will not be returning, which is a shame as they did have awesome pizza. read more

I'm not sure what the huge hype is about this pizza. It's good, but that's it. I even find the sauce is a bit too meaty and the toppings are soggy. The spaghetti was insanely disappointing, no taste at all. I've been a few times because options are limited, but it's not my first choice. On the plus side, it's super clean. read more

Yum, yum, yum. This is our go to pizza spot. Hand stretched dough, cooked in a really hot oven. Sauce is very flavourful, and the toppings are fresh. It can be a bit of a wait for food, as they get quite busy. But, that is just a testament to how delicious the pizza is. read more

Had no problem with the whole process... accept, once I got there I realized I could have bought 2 slices (which were just as large as a small pizza) and 2 cans of pop for way less money than my whole order's total. I have had orders delivered before from here and was charged $2.00 for delivery. Today I was told it was $4.50. I asked why the cost went up and was told it didn't. Excellent pizza, tons of toppings and cheese, not conveyor belt crap with 5 millions holes poked through it like every where else. Its the closest you will get to the pizza you had back in the day before they ruined it. If the sauce was traditional (more spice/herbs, less sugar) then this would rank as my favorite pizza in NS.
