Mr. Elliott was condescending, arrogant, rude, accusatory, exceedingly unprofessional with not only me but my entire family. Every concern we had he rolled his eyes and did nothing about it. He would shut me up and not let me express myself nor my family. On one occasion, I had to tell him to keep a modicum of professionalism, patience and compassion because he was treating me like I was a waste of matter and was getting annoyed for anything I had to add when we were prepping for the trial. His body language, tone of voice and facial expressions were repugnant. He could have cared less about my perspective, emotions and experiences. I did not feel that I was in a supportive environment and there was no trust and rapport. He rolled his eyes countless times and frowned about my family's religion. He disregarded any willingness to help me truly and my child. I discovered and it was evident that he had a close relationship with my ex's attorney that made it virtually impossible to truly represent me appropriately. I would consider that conflict of interest and should have never agreed to represent me. He never believed in me and waited 3 days before trial to work on my case and review everything which I highly doubt he did. Also, before and at trial, I was not provided what was going to be used against me as my exe's evidence. Additionally, I did not have an opportunity for rebuttal or have Mr. Elliott cross examine my ex since we had run out of time at court. Mr. Elliott didn't want to go back to trial and strongly adviced me to settle for joint custody with the final health decision to be made my ex. This is something he put in the paperwork as to believing that my drug addict/alcoholic ex had decision making capacities on his own. He said I would lose custody otherwise if I didn't agree but yet, while in court he said custody will not be an issue that I would be getting it since it was recommended by the parent evaluator. He charged me excessively for things that were not carried out, or consulted with me, including charging $450 to drive to court from Tualatin to downtown Portland. I was told 10 thousand would cover since I was at the end of this long drawn out case that not much really needed to be done. I didn't even get a notice that I had gone past the retainer and from 10K it went to 17K in a matter of almost a month! We went to court only once for about 7 hours in total and he didn't even cross examine my ex! Most of the questions he asked me while I was under oath were not even in my favour! The child support was poorly calculated. Mr. Elliott failed to request bank records and 3 years of tax returns from my ex. My ex operates his own business and is part of his family's illegal residential marijuana growing business. When we calculated the amount on child support, my ex and I agreed to it (even though I believe it should have been more) but then Mr. Elliott took it upon himself to suggest we recalculate (without informing me until after he notified my exe's attorney) the amount since my ex would be getting a minuscule amount of more parenting time in the future and had it reduced to about 60 dollars less! How despicable and wrong is that! He willingly and knowingly acted wrongfully simply because he disliked me and instead of working for me, he worked against me. There are other improper and disgraceful conduct that Mr. Elliott grossly displayed. Soon after the trial I decided to read reviews about him and to no surprise there were many complaints. His average was about a 2-star rating. He should be held accountable for his unprofessional and unethical actions. read more

I had the misfortune of hiring Tom Martin to help me with an issue I had with my neighbors and the logging of forest land. I was told that Tom was well versed in Home Owners Associations and would be the best person to help take on my neighbors and Clackamas County. Early on into my time with Mr. Martin it was clear he was not equipped to represent me and in fact, told me on a few occasions that he was doing "research" at the county library to better understand the legalities of my case. Mr. Martin also has a rude demeaning bedside manner and frequently spoke "down" to me which only added to the already high stress level. It wasn't until several months in and thousands of dollars later did I do my own research and found an attorney who knew exactly how to handle my case and within weeks it was over. Mr. Martin should have had the graciousness and professionalism to refer me on in an effort to save me money and to look out for my best interest.
