Just a comment to those that say there's no bathrooms: there is one downstairs in the children's section!

Absolutely warrants a stop if you are around the area. We were on our way to the Mount Holly Marsh…read morePreserve for a hike and made it a point to pay it a visit. We were so glad we did. The library was named after Amelia S Givin, obviously the benefactress of the library and a woman in the paper industry ahead of the time which was dominated by men. The library is constructed in Richardsonian Romanesque architecture, built with bricks and brown stones. Inside one can see "groups of semicircular arched windows, intricate carvings, and a semicircular apse". The latter is my favorite room, sporting 2 wheeled ladders attached to the rail on the wall. This is a great place to admire, reflect, and enjoy a quality quiet time.

What an absolute delight this hidden jewel of a library is in Mount Holly Springs, PA! The Amelia…read moreGivin Free Library has the appearance of a rustic castle on the outside, and once you're inside, it's like stepping into that scene in The Beauty and the Beast with the walls of bookshelves. The ambiance of this place is unmatched - it is saturated with character and will take you back to the days when information was housed in physical books and you had to search for it, instead of having it at your fingertips online. I held a book of poetry from the 1800s in my hands, and it was housed on an adorable shelf with a whole set of the books that were in the original library back before the turn of the 20th century. It's a unique combination of small and homey, while also being quite large. I can't imagine there being 100 people in this place comfortably at the same time, but if that's what you're looking for, you can go to the Bosler Library in Carlisle. This place is a vintage library experience, with all the benefits of being a part of the Cumberland County library system. I can't encourage you enough to check this place out - it was absolutely fantastic!

I come to this library primarily to use the study rooms which are nice, spacious and comfortable. They have a white board inside of them as well. My favorite part of this library is the display of African American baseball artifacts on multiple levels. It shows how important, valuable and the great contribution African Americans players made to the sport of baseball. Park on the garage level.....maybe on floor 3 of the garage which had a small bridge to enter the library directly. Also, The community college shares the upper floors of this library as well which includes larger study rooms and an entire computer lab. The staff is really helpful as well. Will definitely be back time and time again

The plethora of play centers and a dedicated kids space offers a safe and interactive option for parents and caregivers. Checkout the event calendar for events and programming for all ages. My mom has also used their inexpensive printers as well.
