Pier is closed for renovation (as of Feb 2024)

NOTE: Pier is closed for renovation (as of Feb 2024). Otherwise nice park, nice views, bathrooms are close. Really cute downtown area nearby. Can be cold and windy, so bring a jacket. ;)

Beautiful marina waterfront in the east bay where you can come and take a stroll Along the Carquinez Strait. In the small town of Martinez where you can have a picnic and see the wildlife interact in nature. This marina is fairly large and has plenty of open space for parking. With a bait shop located near the launch ramp, you can buy your bait and head out into the strait or up to the Sacramento delta and catch some great fishes. This marina is one of many marinas in the east bay along the highway 4 corridor where you can launch your boat and enjoy the beautiful Waterways of the California delta system. Many beautiful weather and sunset views year round.

I absolutely love coming to the Martinez Marina! From boating and fishing to picnics and trail walking, there is always something to do here. I used to come here all of the time during the summer to run and walk along the many trails. It can get extremely hot during the summertime, but the cool breeze from the Marina can be the perfect way to cool down. There are always birds flying around and beautiful ducks swimming in the water. The sounds of the waves are very therapeutic. There are benches and a few tables which can be great for a small picnic or a quick lunch outdoors. The sunsets are another reason why I frequent this Marina. They are absolutely amazing! The only down side is that is gets super cold at night. Make sure to bring a blanket or a thick coat if you plan to come by during the evening and especially during the winter time. It is also a good idea to wear some type of mosquito repellent and of course that good old sunscreen! I learned the hard way and came back home with tons of mosquito bites on my legs one year after running along one of the trails. The parking is free and there are plenty of spaces available. I enjoy watching all of the different boats sail by and the wonderful view of the Benicia bridge in the distance. If you're in the Martinez area and you haven't visited this Marina, you definitely have to check it out!

Always nice walkabout around the park and trails. A 5 without transient element and trash. Avoid going east of marina. Homeless encampments and trash.

Lovely place to go out for a nice walk, fishing or even a bike ride. The view is absolutely beautiful during a sunset. I love coming here for a nice relaxing walk and take in some fresh air. The locals here are super friendly here as well.

The marina has something for everyone!! Bocce courts, baseball fields, shoreline with windy paths, fishing, boat ramps, a beautiful park, two play structures, a skatepark. There is endless possibilities for a day of fun or just an hour. If your downtown you should definitely visit the marina! It is a gem. However, stay away from the front parking lot with the trailers, a little drug traffic. But their high asses don't move, so the rest of the park is cool.

Next to the Marina is a walking trail with a wooden bridge that crosses over Alhambra Creek.

Sunday sunset as seen from the pier.

Great place to watch the sunset, take photos, watch the waterfowl, see the variety of boats/ships come sailing in, play on the grass, or walk any of the various trails! Be sure to pack warm clothes if you plan on staying for any duration of time in the evening.

I wanted to share the experience I had with Diamond Sportfishing and Captain Kyle! WOW! We…read moregathered at the dock super early and although we thought it was early, Captain Kyle was up and at'm ready to fish! He said we were in for an adventure. The great thing about DSF is that they provide all the gear necessary for your catch. We were going out for Tuna as Bluefin are now found in the waters off the west coast, we were all pretty excited to go fishing. All we brought with us was food and drinks, having everything else included was a bonus. In the event we caught anything, they'll cut, clean, gill and give us fillets. The boat ride was awesome, no one got seasick thank goodness, there's ample seating inside and out. It was super foggy in the early morning, but cleared up by the time we started. I've not been on a fishing boat prior to this trip, and I was blown away at how scenic and beautiful the water was out there. The bright sunshine gave the water a super bright blue appearance, it was cool. Captain Kyle and his deckhand got everyone rigged up and ready to fish. The Captain is youthful and took his time answering questions and giving advice. His mixture of humor and knowledge of where the fish were was certainly a bonus because as soon as lines were in the water we heard, " Fish On!" That first Tuna took everyone on board including my son Parker to reel it in ( Posted Picture). What a freaking rush. It was exciting watching as everyone reeled something in on the boat. We laughed, joked and had such a fun day out on the water with friends. On our way back in to harbor the Captain pointed out several whale pods swimming around the boat, it was a trip seeing them jump. We enjoyed our lunch and talked about who caught the biggest tuna. In all honesty, that first one was the biggest in my book. I can't say enough great things about Captain Kyle and his Diamond Sport Fishing. Reservations were easy as charters go out practically daily either 1/2 or full days. The waters off of California are changing, getting warmer, they're seeing Bluefin Tuna and Marlin so who knows, maybe our next trip we'll catch something epic! Overall Impression: A+

Bought this experience for my son and his friends for his birthday and they had a great time.read more
