Didn't anyone get the memo that stationers and newspaper magazine retailers are the new hangout for the hip and urban lifestyler? This place has terrible lighting, a carpet that looks like it hasn't been hoovered since '72, and a generally shabby look to it. As well as magazines, it has cards, stationary and sweets, that kind of thing. But still, even here it looks like they could only afford to shell out for the tacky cards and wrapping paper. I would head to Paperchase or Borders instead. The only reason I generally come here is because there is a post office at the back.

Newsagents itself is average, but this post office is a joke. It had one guy working who was really…read morelazy and did not want to process my letters. it was about 4:50 and he started saying how the post office is closed now (as you can see by the opening times it closes at 5:30) He was very rude and dismissive, kept making excuses and lies just to get out of doing his job. The few letters he actually did process in the end were bent and thrown into the sack, he refused to process them all though and now my customers are going to wonder where their mail is. AVOID

Staff fluctuate between amiably friendly and rather sullen (often more preoccupied with their own telephone conversations than anything as lowly, or menial, as working in a shop or answering a customer's query) Open until around 9.30-10pm daily; useful for last minute necessities and topping-up (old) Ken's infamous Oyster card. Best to pay with cash here as credit or debit cards incur a 50p penalty.
