And it's given back by mostly everyone user go into there store. There is one guy that is an employee there that works during the afternoon till closing. I know covid is happening but the owners don't wear a mask and don't hold anything against anyone who doesn't. This one guy seems to have a personal issue with me. He told me he will not serve me if I don't wear a mask after he already got through cashing my tickets and getting me my new scratch tickets. Then Goes onto say "im an asshole" and I "must not care about the ones around me" ...... I will say I will not be going back to mr Mike's as I have been going there daily for 3-1/2 years.... what allows someone to be so disrespectful to someone else? Cuz I don't believe what they believe? Where a mask or don't but don't pick me out of the crowd to "make a point" and if this happens again I will be going through some legal "things" to rid this problem so others do. Or have to go through what I have been going through. This is only one of three instances this guy has personally attacked me. Wont do it if there 3 or more people in there and there is plenty of video showing this.

On this visit we saw woodpeckers and turkeys. (Jul2026) We're fond of time on the lake. We launched from our friends' shore and just motored around. We picnicked on the boat and on our friends' shore. The only public access we know of is the $25 ramp behind the well-stocked North of the Border convenience store on US-202, on the NH/MA border at the west tip of the lake. On the lake in the summer, there's lots of pontoons and boats, jet skis, and kayaks and canoes, for boating, skiing, and fishing. As far as I know, there are no public beaches or shores. The lakefront is all private property.

A local brewery provides a food truck with incredible bison burgers, sausages, and a stand with their own brew. There is a stand for plants and t-shirts celebrating the town's 300 tricentennial. People have their chairs set up, kids running around having fun. Everyone is enjoying a beautiful Friday evening. I walk across the street to the Rutland Saveway to buy water for my dog and walk into an argument between a customer and the employee. Politics, of course. The employee is very hostile and the customer leaves. I was in a pleasant mood when I approached the counter with my water. The woman continued her argument with me...Biden and gas prices. I made one comment "but this is a global problem, not just here". I shouldn't have said anything. That just set her off. She started ranting about "people like me". And "we are stupid". I expressed my suggestion about leaving politics out of a service environment. That didn't help. Then I said I was just here, having a good time across the street. That didn't help. "Since when is it ok to drink in public?" This woman was an extremely angry person. I paid and hightailed it out of there. A person like that shouldn't be working in a service industry. I definitely won't be entering that store anymore.

They are located conveniently across the street from a popular pizza joint so if you're stopping there, don't forget about this place for your beer or other munchies needs.
