He did not agree to this; he brushed us off and joked that he would "only charge us half a million dollars." 2/ He ignored our requests and administered (or, more accurately, *billed us* for tests / services beyond our insurance coverage. Our bill was so high that it took us months to pay off. Once we finally payed it off, we received his professional assessment, which was absolutely useless. 3/ Overall terrible demeanor, but the most disturbing thing is that he tried to bully me into leaving him alone and unsupervised behind closed doors with my preschooler. When I explained that we would be more comfortable waiting out in the hall with the door cracked because we don't leave our child alone with strangers (this was our child's first and only meeting with him), Caplan became visibly ANGRY. He kept trying to pressure me and when I calmly said that we would be more comfortable remaining in the office with our child, Caplan lashed out. His face got red, his jaw clenched, he leaned forward at me, and he criticized me. Parents: anyone who repeatedly attempts to pressure you into leaving them alone behind closed doors with your child, and then who gets angry at you for not allowing that is a BIG! RED! FLAG! TLDR: We went to Caplan seeking support for our child. We received nothing useful from him, but we did get bullied, bilked, and taken advantage of. We deeply regret going to him, and I'm sharing this so you won't find yourself in the same boat. Please protect yourself and DO NOT seek this person's "help."
