Dr. Mary Scanlon listens, which is hard to find in a Doctor. I started seeing her over ten years ago. My son was allergic to everything including his inhaler, his pediatricians would not try anything else as I watched my 4 year old suffer. I brought him to Dr. Scanlon and everything changed. I would not go to any other Doctor and both of my children did as well. (They moved away) her kindness and compassion, and knowledge is like no other Dr I have ever seen. The office experience is just terrible. The staff are rude and aggressive and most unhelpful even if one has to make a simple appointment. I just can't understand why Dr. Scanlon being such an outstanding doctor employs such terrible toxic staff. I have stood in line and listened to the way in which patients are spoken to. There are notices on the window and door stating that they are short staffed. However, there is no excuse for rudeness and I wish Dr Scanlon was aware that she has such horrible staff. There is one staff member who wears blue scrubs and may be in her mid 50's in age and she is the worst. I call her Nurse Ratchet. I am sure I am not the only one that has complaints. Dr. Scanlon you need to do something about your staff. You should record the incoming calls and have a camera at the reception with audio and then you would see what was going on. read more

I really like Dr.Scanlon but the customer service is diabolical- its rare that they answer the phone, unfriendly and here's the best thing - called in July for an Annual physical- could not get one until January. Find a Doctor's practice that are not overloaded and maybe even one with 21st century tools like a website! read more

Thank God for Dr. Mary Scanlon. She is possibly the best General Practitioner in Palm Beach County and beyond. My wife and I both attend her office for our medical needs, and I can honestly say that she demonstrates a genuine and caring interest in our health and wellbeing. When I told my urologist that Mary Scanlon was my primary care physician he said that she spent time with him as an intern some years ago. He went on to say that she was a brilliant doctor, and I could not have chosen a better practitioner. Now that is saying something from one the finest urologists in the state of Florida. I see Dr. Scanlon quite often and whenever I leave her office I feel better already even before I take any prescribed medication. When I lived in Palm Beach County, Dr. Mary Scanlon was my primary care physician. Her caring manner and expertise were outstanding. She really listened to me and sought the best avenue of care for my concerns. Coming up on my 10 year anniversary as a patient of hers. She is by far the best Doctor that I have ever had. She is fast, but doesn't rush you. So if you want to dig deep and talk about what's ailing you, she will have that conversation but if you need to go she gets you out of there. I never have a problem with billing, her staff or any requests that I make of her. She is kind, attentive and thorough. I have recommended 5 people to her and they are still patients. Have been going to Dr Scanlon for many years now. I have also recommended friends and colleagues of mine. She in turn with my orthopedic surgeon, have managed my health issues for the ladder of a decade to the best of their capabilities. Dr Scanlon genuinely gets to know you and make sure that she's detailed in her synopsis. If anything's ever forgotten, it's because I forgot to mention it upon appointment, the front desk could be better, but in any medical setting where you have a large patient load, it's what's going to happen. Maybe a bigger office with more area for the people at the desk could fix some of the backup/complaints but this is south florida, no ones going to be happy anywhere. read more

I will gladly erase this if this leads to a reply but I went in and paid out of pocket for them to tell me to get blood work done elsewhere bc they don't do it themselves so after over $300 I wait for a reply as I was told they would call me back after looking over the blood results sent in from LabCorp and its been 3 months, countless calls to her office (but never available) and I guess there's no email since they told me they don't have an email to give me.... I went there yesterday as I was looking for a new doctor in the area. I filled out a medical release paper and they said they would fax it in the next hour. I called my old Doctor Who confirm they never received it. When I called back they said they would have it done at the end of the day. That was fine with me. I called my old doctor towards the end of the day and they still haven't received it. When I called them back to ask for an ETA the girl was very rude and cocky. I told her I could give her my number to call me back when you're not so busy and she replied that they would get to me when they get to me, whatever that means, and she hung up on me. read more

Finally! A great doctor. I have been searching for a new PCP for 2 years. I have good insurance, but finding a good Doctor seems to be challenging in this day and age. I have to go to the Dr. ever 6 months due to being on BP meds and for them the check blood pressure etc. I also take xanax occasionally for anxiety. She takes time to get to know you, makes you feel comfortable and treats you like a human rather than just means to make money. She genuinely listens and cares. I wish I found her sooner. There was a bit of a wait my first visit but after some of the Doctors I have visited over my course to finding a good Dr. I am willing to wait. I know waiting sucks and I hope all days won't be as long of a wait as my first visit. But if you look at 2 restaurants that are side by side. 1 has a long line and wait and the other is empty. There is usually a reason for that. I will try to get 1st appointment of the day in the future. read more

I love love love Dr Scanlon, DO. She listens, she cares, she gets you involved with your care plan and is open to anything you have learned. She is very knowledgeable and I have never had a doctor take more time with me to understand as much as possible. The only downside is that her practice has an antiquated phone and scheduling system which makes it difficult to get through and then backlogs make it difficult to schedule an appointment with her, which devastates me when I am in a crisis so I do have to keep a "back up", which makes me sad. Their office also doesn't have an online portal like many due where you can make / change appointments and review lab results, send notes back and forth. If that was in place then she would be the perfect doctor. I hope that they update. read more
