Pickins are slim in Iowa, but I can confidently say I would choose Dr. Roewe over all other oral surgeons out there. I have a long, complicated dental history and have been coming to Dr. Roewe for years. He is so flexible with my schedule (multiple weekend appointments; he even came in on Christmas when I had an emergency) and willing to patiently explain the situation/his treatment plan and rationale. The nurses are all quite friendly and even though getting your mouth sliced open is probably pretty high on everyone's list of a crappy day, everyone does their best to make you happy and comfortable and experience a successful surgical outcome.

I came into his office for the appointment after a few delays due to me having a mild case of pneumonia. As the anesthesiologist inserted the needle and I started to slip into unconsciousness, I was watching American Hoggers, a reality TV show about wild hog hunters in Texas. I was rendered unconscious within what seemed like 10 seconds after the drugs took effect. I momentarily woke up in his office and the wisdom teeth were extracted. There was one very mild complication with one of the teeth, which removed some of the skin. But he stitched the roots accordingly. I've also learned that my mom had the same oral surgeon when she got her wisdom teeth taken out. Overall, the procedure went very well, and to be honest, it was actually kind of fun (I was very out of it coming out of the anesthesia). Final grade: 4/5 (80%)

Didn't prescribe any pain meds or antibiotics to fight infection when the tooth was clearly abcessed. The dentist was very rough ,more concerned with lunch time than not ripping my cheek off. I was left bruised,sore,and will have to return to another dentist to have the rest of the tooth removed.O highly recommend going somewhere else and establishing a personal relationship with a quality dentist. Poor Quality Well about 2 years ago I had a front tooth…read morereplaced with a porcelain implant that cost me a total of 3,000 dollars from Smile Shoppe in Burlington Iowa. OK they finished the work I then moved out of state and 3 months later during a thanksgiving dinner eating mashed potatoes my freaking implant crown fell out and I almost swallowed it. I called Dr. Amy and basically she told me " well you could drive 2000 miles back and we could try it again" but of course I said no its OK and had a local dentist re Bond the tooth. When I asked my local dentist what was the cause he stated poor quality Bond and not enough set time and of course poor workmanship. So here we are 2 years later and I am eating a piece of fried chicken and my crown now chipped the bottom left corner!!!!! So after doing some research I found out that these things never or very rarely chip or if they do its usually after 10 years or so. I called Dr. Amy to ask some basic questions and to see if she would even offer help with getting a hold of the manufacturer of the implant to see why and maybe help me out anything considering the money I had paid them and all I got was a well not sure what you want there is nothing we are going to do to help you. So I called a local Dentist and he stated it would cost me around 1,000 dollars to replace the crown and would guarantee it for 10years really Dr. Amy I thought you really cared about your patients. Run away from this place, they have back massaging chairs, TVs you can watch and they are really friendly all while they destroy your teeth and pocket book stay away from these crooks and shame on you DR.Amy.....
