In 4th grade, there was this other student that had said multiple mean things to him and had made him cry. He was always the smart kid and had no problem with going to school. Because of this boy, he started to refuse to go to school in the end of the school year all the way through 5th and half of 6th grade but he eventually got put in homeschool. Remember, this was all because of one kid that did not know how to communicate with others and had no respect. I understand that it was a kid, but this doesn't mean he can be rude to others and have no effect on himself. He should know to be kind to others. Anyways, now lets talk about the other kids here, I believe there are 750 kids that attend this school currently and most of them are just kids that think they are older than everybody else and can do whatever they want to do. I absolutely hate that, what are these parents teaching these kids?? I would like to know because in 5th grade, somebody spilt yogurt on my son and it was on purpose. Did the staff do anything? NOT AT ALL. They did absolutely NOTHING. What is wrong with these people? The staff suck, the principals fine, the students have no respect whatsoever and that rude office lady just pisses me off! Camellia requires parents to get involved in school activities. They have to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours per year. This means donating items for the various events they have, coming to the school to help out or grading papers. The school puts on several events each year like the carnival, wee bazaar, spaghetti dinner with silent auction, and many others. The school is a distinguished school so it gets more funding and that allowed the students to go on more field trips. I was surprised my sons current school doesn't go to Sky Park for a week, I thought this was a norm for all schools. With it being a distinguished school the curriculum is a lot more rigorous. I didn't realize that until we moved and my children had to go to a different school. While at Camellia they were tested/graded as average. When they went to their new school they tested high and above average. The class work they were doing at their new school was stuff they learned from the previous grade while at Camellia. This is definitely a school to send your children to if you have the opportunity. It sets them to a higher standard and really pushes them. They do get lots of homework, so be prepared for that!
