There are also a few small sops on on the pad that seem to be doing OK, and Bob Evans and Burger King flanking the entrance in case you crave cholesterol.

The Value for the ultra-low price in all of the above mentioned stores is amazing. The selection in TJ. Maxx and Marshalls, IHOP is always amazing. Also the UPS Store is frequented by a lot of people if some could just be more patient. Anthony's Italian Restaurant is still open and has doubled in size since it has opened and the prices are still lower than most places in the area. These are still so close by and we are always served by "P.G. Co. Customer Servants," if we live are lucky enough to still live in Bowie. Also the Mattress Store (that never seems to go out of business) not sure if that's the exact name, but it's always going, along with the IHOP. The selection in all of the stores here is exceptional and they are always clean as can be. I'm thrilled that I stayed in Bowie all of my life as a retired fed, and now use Lyft to get places often. Or all of them have a service option that's very close by. Perhaps sometimes it's not in the best interest of owners to keep a Mall in service, but this Mall has almost all of the "old stores and the parking is exceptional in the front" ~ especially. I would rate this as one of two top "smallest stores in the area".

Of course there's been changes over the years…read more There's a fair amount of shopping and dining options: Dollar Tree, Aldi (used to be Safeway) Petco, Chipotle, Best Buy, Michael's, T-Mobile, Subway, Cleaners, Lowe's and more. I remember going to the Best Buy on Black Friday with my family to get a big screen TV many moons ago. That Best Buy is still there. I frequent the Ross here. It's not my favorite but it's decent most times. On occasion I'll pop into DSW! My go to for alterations is the cleaners. They do an amazing job with reasonable prices. I like that they've added a CAVA! Parking is never an issue!

Anchored by Lowe's and Safeway, with Best Buy, Staples, Navy FCU, Modell's, Micheal's, DSW, 5 Below, and a few smaller shops. Restaurants are Potbelly, Famous Dave's, Red Lobster, Chipotle, Wendy's, and Teppanyaki buffet. Sorry if I missed any, they're all pretty forgettable. There are entrances from US 1 southbound, and exit only in that direction, plus traffic lights on the roads at either end if you need to go northbound. Be careful of pedestrians (and of cars when walking) because the main traffic lanes are between the stores and the parking.

New stores have opened this year and others are coming soon. The center's sidewalks are lined with planters full of brightly colored flowers making it quite attractive. There is a small patio area between two of the stores with artificial grass providing some greenery. Replacing the a grocery store that relocated years ago is Sprouts, which features many organic and plant based foods. It has departments with produce, bakery items, a deli, meat and seafood, prepared meals to go, frozen foods, and pantry items. It also carries frozen crab cakes and a frozen pizza brand that were both rated "the best" in separate reviews. The crab cakes are Sprouts' own brand and the pizza is one I haven't found anywhere else. Much to my surprise a review of grocery stores rated Sprouts as number one. Also open in the shopping center are a new TJ Maxx, Ulta, and Moby Dick Kabobs. Planned businesses include a Domain Fitness, an Eggspectation restaurant. and a bank, among others. Burtonsville Crossing is located right off Columbia Pike and there is plenty of parking. I'm happy to see the area thriving again.

3/19/21 A lot has changed since I lived in Rockville…read moreMaryland. I have seen new buildings get made in spots that were once parking spaces.  I will admit,  there were a lot of parking spaces. Barns&Nobles was the main attraction for this shopping area with Starbucks being an added bonus. People then traveled to other spots of this shopping center. Chick Fill-A was the newest building to be added before I moved to Virginia.  I never saw the grand opening, but I did try the chicken the next time I was in town. Last weekend I was back in Rockville area and saw the Barns&Nobles sign wasn't present.  I saw the Starbucks Coffee sign and started wondering if Barns&Nobles went out of business.  I did not notice that the business had moved to Congressional Plaza.  Why the move? Could be a number of reasons.   I remember when Montrose Crossing went by another name, but just like the name Berenstein Bears, it no longer exists.  I also don't remember the name it use to be called. My mom loved shopping at Marshlls for clothes and whatever else she could find. As a kid, I found shopping for clothing very boring.   Yes, most male kids and some females too found shopping for clothes boring.  Now I am left with memories from a time I would go shopping with my mom.  As the song goes, "you don't what you got till it's gone."  Yes, those were good times, even if I did not see it that way at the time.  Without the Barns&Nobles to headline the main attraction,  I think the decline for this shopping area will show up bigtime during the summertime of 2021. Time will tell.

Most of the stores here are chain stores, Lowes, Petsmart, and Dick's Sporting Goods being some of the bigger names. Costco also has a location with a gas station also. There is a selection of restaurants that are a mix of national chains (Chik-fil-A, Chipotle, Starbucks) along with some that seem to be more local. I took off a star because getting in and out of the parking lot can be a bear quite often due to the volume of people shopping there. There are limited exits and especially trying to get out from the Lowe's/Chic-Fil-A side of the complex can result in quite a wait to get out. Glad it's here for when the local merchants further into the city don't have what I was looking for.
