I went to my second music concert in the DMV area at The Recher after meeting Chrystal of Anoxia at The Baltimore Soundstage and getting information about her My Phase Days concert in The Recher in May 2024. It was an amazing concert with many music artists paying homage to bands like Evanescence and Bring Me The Horizon. We saw a lot of local music artists in the Baltimore, Maryland area and started going to see their concerts in the DMV area. January 2025. We visited The Recher to see local music artists we were not familiar with except for one who played in the May 2024 My Phase Days concert. It was also a birthday concert for the Rapolla Entertainment's owner Nic. It was the music entertainment business that promoted both concerts we attended in The Recher. Parking is easy to find at The Recher and is free in the parking garages on the weekend. The Recher is a brief walk away from the parking garage nearby. The concert venue is mid size and very clean for a concert venue. Drink prices are fair. Sound quality is excellent. The music artists we met there are professional, passionate about their music, and amicable. The crowds there have always been easy to navigate and friendly. I enjoyed seeing the posters of well known music artists who performed in The Recher. Looking forward to coming there again. Cheers

B'more Artscape 2025 -- A Whole Vibe…read more Love art and music, plus I'd never been to Baltimore's version of an art festival. It had more of an authentic city atmosphere, working people vibe. More accessible, art for the people by the people. There also was a Black Country Artist playing the festival, whom I love "Tanner Adell" and it was my favorite price, Free. Free to attend but you did have to pay for the food, drinks and art/things. I love this festival, everyone was happy, friendly and approachable at the festival. It was also a perfect time to hangout with my B'more friends. Should you attend next year?! Definitely!!

It's kind of an interesting out-of-the-way location. This is an intimate venue that is really for people who want to listen to the words and the lyrics of amazing singer-songwriters. The sound level is for listening, not for promoting hearing loss (like multiple other venues I've been to over the years.). I came here last night with the SO to see a friend play who is based in Nashville, but was making a mini-tour through this part of the country. They hold a show (on average) one Saturday per month. When I say intimate, I mean you're at most 100 feet from the stage in the back row, and it only holds a few hundred seats. This is run by a non-profit so prices on everything are very reasonable. So reasonable, in fact that you may want to make a small donation. They also accept used musical instruments as part of another program to get music into the local community and schools. If this sounds like your kind of place, then it probably is. They deserve to be patronized. Bonus: Beer, wine, coffee, tea, homemade cookies, and singer merch in the back. Where else do you get to shake hands and tell the artist what you thought of their show without buying a VIP ticket?

We didn't get here until 5:00 and no one was performing. There is only one alcohol vendor for an event where they did not allow coolers. In addition, the vendors basically all sold the same thing. I did enjoy my meal from Island Quizine. I ordered jerk chicken, on tails, veggies and plantains. It was a huge serving for $12!! I think my biggest issue is the artist performances started late and were lack luster. The cost of a regular price ticket for entry only was $40. But, of course I bought a discounted ticket!! Either way, definitely not worth the money. And to top it all off, there are no funnel cake vendors...dang! The only sweet tooth vendor was ice cream. I'm still here, holding out, hoping things turn around...

Representing a 4th of July visit is Merriweather Post Pavilion. I won tickets to M3 Music…read moreFestival, which then was 4th of July weekend, which was a Sunday in 2021. I had been here multiple times over the years. This is a nice venue with a lot of great musicians here. I've eaten here on a couple of occasions, but standard overpriced foods. Chicken tenders were pretty good as I recall. But I generally will try to eat beforehand. In the 4th of July example, it was actually a 1st date of several that summer, and we met at Mod Pizza beforehand by Columbia Mall and walked over from there. Coincidentally, my girlfriend & I are probably going to Mod Pizza this Friday, 7/3 before seeing Young Washington (very apropos for America 250) & Lucky Strike (about an American hero during World War II). The first time I ever went was in July 2015. I won tickets to see Sam Smith, no not a friend of mine I know, but the excellent musician. Wow, that was an awesome show. And I was impressed with the venue. Back then, I lived in VA, and my date lived further out in VA on the far side of Centreville, west of VA-28. I picked her up and drove in lots of traffic to get there, but it was worth it for my very first visit to Merriweather. Even though the concert was in 2015, I had met her in summer 2013 at an event. We went on one date in July 2013; she was kind of weird and one of the most right-wing women I've ever gone on a date with. I don't think she was high on my list, but she was the one who said yes to see Sam Smith. I will say I had a better time on this July 2015 date, but the backdrop of Merriweather & awesome Sam Smith helped boost this date. Other noteworthy visits were a couple of visits in summer 2019 with a girlfriend of mine at the time. For 11 months from April 2019 to March 2020, I had a membership on INWEGO, which was an events based platform, where you paid a monthly fee for 1, 3, or 5 events in a month. I often stuck with the middle priced 3 events per month. A couple of the events were at Merriweather, Third Eye Blind & Pentatonix. Also, I went with a woman I was interested in June 2022. She had invited me, and this was one of the rare times I paid for a concert, but it was Tears for Fears, which was great! I had more good luck in summer 2024 with winning concert tickets, with my girlfriend, 2 of which were at Merriweather, which Alanis Morrisette & Glass Animals were great! Most times I've been on the Lawn but a couple of times won seats. Seats are better because they are closer and covered if it rains. Lawn is still a good vantage point, but can be crowded and hard to find a good spot to lay a blanket down. Also, they do a great job on the concert lighting here, with the best example being my most recent example, the Glass Animals show. In summary, Merriweather is a great venue with great musicians.

I was able to test that theory out because I'm a season ticket holder for the Ravens and I was able to see a different view of the Merriweather Post Pavillion. Happy to say this venue still holds up really well! The parking situation can be extremely tricky and a headache but thankfully the Ravens managed to provide free parking in a parking garage in the Merriweather district near one of the Pavilion's entrances (I think it's the West enterance(?) I know there's a big bridge and trail you can follow).

I wasn't able to snag the free tickets (even though I logged on at exactly 12 noon on the dot each…read moreday they were released) so my boyfriend generously purchased the freemium tickets for us at $50/each -- which comes with a t-shirt and unlimited soda all day long. In spite of the awesome lineup -- Kaskade, Robin Thicke, Icona Pop, Manufactured Superstars, MGMT, CongoRock, Gareth Emery, Madeon, Pretty Lights, and etc. -- it pretty much rained the whole time we were there, which definitely brought the mood down a little. We had umbrellas, but we still ended up getting soaked. Drinks and food were overpriced and cash only, and they didn't even check ID at the entrance or when you purchase it at the bars. (Hello, underage drinking!) Parking was a hassle and we ended up parking at the lot about 1 mile away and walking to the event in the rain... shuttle service would have been greatly appreciated. Since it was an "all ages" event, there were definitely tons of kids roaming around. Even though I'm in my mid-20s, I definitely felt old and out of place at the event. Regardless, it was nice to see friends and enjoy the music. If I ever end up going again, I hope the weather is better next time around!

Held at Merriweather, you've got three outdoor stages to hop back and forth between and a varied lineup running all afternoon and on into the night. Mostly attended by people in their mid-20s through mid-30s, with some teens, some older folks, and a handful of kids and even babies with their parents. You can bring in your own food, sneak in alcohol pretty easily (although of course I don't advocate this etc etc), or buy overpriced junk food and alcohol on site. Bring cash, because some of the food stands don't take cards and the lines for the ATMs are insane. Also may want to bring a sheet or blanket so you can sprawl on the large lawn at the main stage, where groups like to camp out, get drunk, and smoke weed. It gets crowded, but it's always possible to find a square of space with a good view of the big screen, if not of the little singing dots on the stage below. You're allowed to bring in backpacks, so you can carry around your sheet pretty easily when you want to hit up the other stages, which are standing only. Dress code is basically wear your wackiest item(s) of clothing. People definitely dress for a festival. Decades channeled include the '60s, '70s, and '80s. Also saw a chicken costume (top half pulled down around the waist), a floor-length gown, the shortest American flag shorts I've ever seen on a straight guy, tribal face paint (lots), and a flawlessly dapper fellow who looked like he was heading to the dandies & quaintrelles bike ride. So, whatever floats your boat, basically. And in case it's not obvious, the people-watching is almost as good as the music.

I tried the Apple Fluff (Fluffed Marshmallow Vodka) and the Whipped Sunset (Whipped Cream Vodka) both were sweet but tasted delicious. Food was also served from lovely ladies walking throughout the lounge. I got to taste some differents small plates of shrimp, pasta, beef ribs, salmon skewers, chicken skewers and more! All the of the food was great. The music, atmosphere, and crowd were wonderful! An awesome event that if it passes through BMORE next year I surely will attend.

Plenty of folks chilling listening to the music and enjoying the free cups of drinks by Smirnoff that advertised their new flavored vodka. My favorite one was Iced cake drink, it was the sweetest! I am a light weight drinker! lol There was bites that was passed around. My favorite was the crab cake and pasta. Yummy!!! Security there was tight! Grown and Sexy style only permitted! Basically my type of party!
