Gino knew all the ins and outs, was very informative, and had a great sense of humor which made our experience even more memorable. Mendoza has spectacular views, amazing wine and people. The only reason I'm hung up on 3 stars is because of the overcooked steak, which came out closer to well done when we both wanted medium rare and had a lengthy discussion about it with the waiter. In the end, we reminded ourselves we were at a vineyard and not a steakhouse. If you do get the steak, get the Cab Franc to pair. Aside from that, the views from the outdoor seating area are incredible. The snow capped mountains in the background is a must see. The service was on the money and the appetizer and dessert courses were delicious. The salad was one of the best I've had. The greens were so naturally delicious on their own, they didn't even need olive oil. The combination of fresh strawberries, beets, tomatoes, sea salt and cucumber was on point. Get the Sauvignon blanc to pair. The dulce de leche, which was encased in a pastry puff and covered in chocolate was rich, but not too filling. Get the Millamore to pair. The coffee was a bit strong, and I love strong coffee. Overall, between the views and value, this was an incredible experience. My friend and couldn't put a price on eating and drinking as well and as much as we did with that view for what amounted to $30 US/per person. Try pulling that off in Napa.

They grow their own grapes, and partner with local producers. Renacer has over 400,000 square meters of Malbec planted (half of which are more than 90 years old). They are also the only location in Argentina to make Sauvignon Blanc from Chile's Casablanca Valley. Renacer's property is stunning. The landscape and architecture blend the old world with the new. The Tuscan style medieval tower built with rocks stands stunningly in the background. Yet, is home to state of the art modern wine production. In front, is a beautiful man-made pond with ducks and swans that also serves an irrigation purpose. My tour at Renacer was one of my favorite. We spent a lot of time out in the vineyard discussing the soil, climate, vine maintenance, and irrigation techniques (probably because the guide knew that I worked in the wine industry and was fascinated by these things). They take advantage of both the new drip system and historic flow technique. The water that flows out of the Andes mountains is controlled by the government. Each winery is allotted a specific time that they will receive water. They have to open their water gates to let the water flow in and into the vines. This requires maintaining the dirt channels that the water flows through. We then walked through the production area, barreling room, and the beautiful bottling area. We got to watch the bottling machine in action! I would LOVE a machine to cork and fill bottles. We do that all by hand at our winery. On the tour, they showed us through a pair of Virtual Reality glasses what the outdoor production space looks like during drying season. They use an old technique to lay the grapes out and dry them after harvest for their Amarone style Malbec. The racks of drying grapes through the VR glasses was impressive. After our tour, we were walked back to the beautiful modern restaurant that had a lovely spacious outdoor porch. Their restaurant is beautiful. Modern, intimate and comfortable. Their restaurant was a bit more flexible than the other winery restaurants we had been too. They had a choice of entres, pre-fixed wine paired menus, or non paired. I had the six-course wine paired lunch so I could enjoy a bit of all their wines. They had a large menu of wines to select from. Their menu is seasonal, and sourced from regional purveyors. The food was phenomenal. The pairings were on point. The food was artfully plated and looked as good as it tasted. Their wine was well structured and delightful. A quality wine that was typical of that area. I could have bought many of their wines, but I only had so many slots in my carrier to take back home. I selected to purchase their amarone style Malbec called - Enamore. It was uniquely different and amazing. Another amazing Mendoza experience. Highly recommend this winery. Phenomenal staff. Not pretentious. Quality food and wine.

Glad our tour guide Cecilia was there to enlighten us. Such a brilliant guide and Oenologist. She provided such great information on the area, the vineyard, the company. Tried 4 wines, all fantastic andgot to pour wine out of both the drums and a barrel. The bodega itself is really nice and modern. Syaf is super friendly and they have a restaurant on site which we didn't try. Reservations for tastings and restaurant are both highly recommended. Fantastic experience one should check out if in the land of Malbec.

Excellent stay in the heart of Uco Valley in the wine country. We found this hotel through…read moreMarriott's Tribute portfolio and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location is definitely off the beaten path and a bit hard to find at first but we really loved having the view of the vineyards all around the hotel. The staff were all fantastic and added to the experience. We really loved visiting Mendoza and would love to go back again.

The winery itself for the Salentein brand is across the main building after crossing through merlot and pinot noir vineyards. The winery space is very cool literally and figuratively. It is all concrete (with face brick) with wide open spaces and built 10 meters into the ground. It has three levels, the top had some wine displays and maybe offices, a first basement had the stainless and cask fermenters and a third level - the cave- further down had a wide open circular room they use for concerts with a small grand piano. It us acoustically perfect supposedly and a center spot in the middle reverberates back to yourself so it sounds amplified. The winery tour was very informative although they would not allow us to see any if the active grape crushing. They allowed us to taste three wines - a chardonnay blend, a malbec and a cabernet franc. For $22US it was a bit pricey and they would not even give us the glass! If you want to eat at the restaurant or fo a wine tasting you MUST have a reservation. The restaurant had seats for over 100, 6 were taken and they said it was all reserved. When we left one and a half hours later the restaurant was not even half full and they were closing in less than sn hour. Looks like they did not have enough servers so they limited how many they would serve. The wine bar itself is at the corner of the building with a nice patio that has sofas for two and low tables. One side is very windy and the other is more blocked from the wind and the both look over the winery and the corderilla of the Andes. Here again you may run into trouble if you want to have a tasting and he'll have a reservation. However, you can order anything from the restaurant menu and have it served to you they're in a much more relaxed setting with a great view. We tried the sweet breads which were crispy fried and placed on top of garlic focaccia with the sweet sauce and some greens. It was delicious and our first try at sweetbreads which are mollejas here and I nearly every restaurant menu. The second item we ordered was the grilled provolone cheese they call provoleta here. It was perfectly crisp on the outside with herbs and some greens and what they like to serve with here which are roasted, grilled tomatoes. It was very delicious and the cheese was perfectly crispy. To start they brought out a small bread basket with little loaves that had dark seeds in them and some breadsticks that were served with a cream of olives. It sounds strange but it had the essence of olives in a aioli type spread. The service was very nice and you could order any of the dishes from the restaurant there as well. Here they also do tastings which of course need a reservation but you could order any of their wines by the glass or bottle as well. The wine shop was very large and attended by a friendly gentleman who is very knowledgeable and helpful. They had all sorts of very interesting knickknacks and wine related articles as well as umbrellas and even books. If you set yourself up for a tour, wine tasting and lunch you could spend four or five hours here in a very beautiful setting.
