There are plenty of balls and toys laying around to play with, two doggie pools, a water hose, a sandbox, benches, some agility course equipment, buckets and a hydrant for water, and a gazebo for owners to sit under. There are plenty of shaded areas for dogs to run around in as well. It also gives me peace of mind knowing that all dogs must be fully vaccinated to have access to the park. The park is secure with a passcode for that purpose. We enjoy our visits!

I actually brought both of my humans and they made some friends while I cooled off in the pool. I love seeing them off leash without a care in the world. There's a bathing suite optional pool but please keep your humans out. I Had a chance to chase a labradoodle, he was quite the stud and we definitely hit it off. Not gonna lie I'm hoping to run into him more often. There's also a trail area with a nice shaded area to relax but my human kept wanting to play throw so I obliged and chased after the ball for him. The park does require a membership for your human. All human owners must be current on required shots and spayed/neutered. The Barking Lot is open during normal park hours.* There are no day passes and the cost is $40 per year. This does not include the cost to get into the park ($45 per year or $5 per visit) The barking lot is closed on Tuesdays from 9-11 for maintenance. Some things I suggest you bring: -Towel or rag to wipe off after the pool - If you have wipes, bring them to clean drool off your face. Canines are known for wet kisses and greet each other this way. - There is plenty of water but if you must drink filtered bring your own - poop bags ... There are some at the park but my human has had to improvise because they ran out. He can be so creative sometimes. Remember to make sure you don't eat right before coming to play. We love the park itself, but feel like we are being interrogated and our every move watched by the Board of Directors and their friends. For example, we recently went and one of the dogs tried to fight our dog who immediately ran away and did not engage. I was very kind about it and our dog was okay so we just politely walked away. A few minutes later the owners of the same dog came up to us and our friend we let in and told her to physically show her phob or she couldn't let us stay because she was on the Board of Directors. So, your dog tried to attack mine, but you'll kick us out for forgetting a phob? How is that okay? It's just not a welcoming environment. Their rules and their attitude have worn us down and it feels more like military school than a dog park. It's just not worth it.

They were filthy when I picked them up and they reeked of urine... 4.. their bedding was soaked with urine...claimed they knocked over water as they were leaving...when I questioned why the blankets were soaking wet with urine I was told "oh,if we had known we would have washed them...and yes they smelled them and acknowledged it was urine... 5. Bathed them as soon as I got home and they had several ticks on them! Don't they spray areas to prevent that???I know I do.... I am soooo disappointed with them....i now really question their care....i realize it was a holiday weekend,but this is unacceptable!!

There's a beautiful metal archway with vines growing and 2 baby pools you can fill with water for your pup to cool down in. Agility toys have been installed so your fur baby can jump across tires or swerve through poles. It's a good size park with enough room to enjoy your own space while other dogs play. At the moment, I don't have a dog but when she moves to Charlotte I will be looking to bring her here for a whole lot of running about. Volleyball courts, tennis courts, picnic tales, a massive gated playground area and tons of parking. The ballfields are currently marked off for repair, but that's a small detail. I did see a few of Charlotte's finest with their K-9 partners that were parked and doing some sort of exercise. And here's your history lesson. William Davie (1756-1820) was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. He was the tenth governor of North Carolina and was instrumental in the Battle of Charlotte in 1780, where his force of 150 men held off more than 2000 Redcoats. A true Charlotte hero!
