The staff are friendly and the food is good value. Today we tried the Sunday Lunch 'as much as you can eat buffet' for £9.99 and it was fabulous.......not a wide range of choice, but all the dishes were tasty and brought back many happy memories for my wife and I of the curries we enjoyed all over Northern Pakistan............although, having said that I understand the chefs are all from Bangladesh.......which seems to be where the majority of cooks in Indian restaurants in the UK come from. I lived for two years in Pakistan and have also visited India, both sides of Kashmir and Pakistan on other occasions for both business and pleasure, so I think I am reasonably well qualified to spot a good curry when I see one. I have either eaten in or had a take away from here well over fifty times but have also tried various other establishments in the Swindon area, but always return to the Gulshan.

All the dishes are good, I always like the Chicken Tikka, the Lamb Tikka (Boti Kabab, again a "dry" dish) is also excellent. These are both tasty, extremely mild - though I like spicy food (try a Jalfrezi) - and not over violently red as in some places. Plenty of vegetarian dishes like most Indian Restaurants. Also, different chairs face in different directions, and all but facing inwards to the back of the restaurant has a view that is just fine, and the street view is excellent. The staff all wear traditional dress and are very polite and attentive. The menu is extensive and the food is excellent, very good quality. The set meals are more interesting than you normally get, with some unusual options. It is a little pricey, probably more suitable for a celebratory meal than your average night out. Definitely somewhere to go for a special occasion!
