We all wanted to order the exact starter that we individually wanted but the waiter said we couldn't do that, he was trying to force us to get a mixed selection (clearly to make it easier for them). However, this did not suit me and others who wanted to make sure we got a non-hot starter to suit our tastes. The waiter wouldn't back down so we said we'd forget the meal deal and order individually. Because of that we ended up ordering much less and spending less as a group as most chose not to bother having a starter or tea/coffee. The service was incredibly slow. I did not have a starter so apart from a poppadom I had to wait from 8pm until gone 9.30pm to get anything of substance. It is frustrating when the waiters keep coming back to offer more drinks with no sign of the food. It seems like an obviously ploy to get you to buy lots of expensive drinks (£4.50 for a Cobra). The restaurant isn't huge and they have a lot of staff so I would hope service would be much more prompt. It is unfortunate that service is not great for large groups. I would go back with a small number as the food is delicious but not as a large group - or I'd at least have a snack before getting there!
