Scrap it was the closest yard to me and it looked like it had a pretty good review so I decided to load my car and drive over to see how much I can get. The entrance to the scrap yard is on a street with actually other scrap yards. The entrance is highly visible and all you have to do is actually drive in and they have someone to help direct you to the right location to stop. They can pretty much tell if you need help so they walked right up to my window asked a few questions and had me popped the trunk so that they can take a magnet and start checking out my metal scrap. He identified which pile goes where and told me where to park the car but he first had me drive over the weight scale, to take the initial weight. He then basically told me to park in front of one pile unload, came back to weigh in again and then went to the second pile unload and came back to weigh in again. He printed me a receipt to bring to the pay office. I also had a big box of miscellaneous scrap metal, which he said I can just put inside a bin and cart it into the facility for a manual inspection. Overall, it was actually a pretty easy process. The workers they were actually very professional courteous and they were not condescending at all like they knew I was not familiar with the process and just guided me the whole way. Definitely will come back again when I accumulate another pile of metal junk.

It has now been 3 weeks later and I have still not heard from Kevin so I decided to take my money and business somewhere else. I brought in a $250 dress that they damaged, and instead of taking responsibility, they sent it to Nordstrom without my permission pretending to be me in order to get a refund. That's not just shady, it's unethical and potentially illegal. They offered me $50 and a refund for the cleaning, as if that would cover the damage or excuse them for impersonating me and sending my property somewhere without asking. They take no accountability and try to gaslight their way out of every situation. They hide behind being a "small business," but that doesn't excuse this kind of behavior. Being a small business means you should operate with more integrity, not less. Save yourself the headache and go literally anywhere else.
