I had the very good fortune to observe with Qing as part of my studies in TCM. She is a warm, caring, and super knowledgeable Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She's been in practice for 30 years, she was trained in China, and you couldn't be in better hands for treatment in Halifax. I watched one case come into her clinic so crippled up with pain he could hardly walk. 3 treatments later - he DANCED out the door. I watched her treat all kinds of complaints with very good results. She has a wall full of pictures of babies that were born after the mothers saw her for fertility treatments. People love her. You will too. And she's very funny. Yep. 5 stars.

Very toxic, unprofessional, stressful work environment. My boyfriends sister who is Indian went for an interview and all they said was "oh your english no good", interview didn't even last 2 minutes. Constantly micro managed, harrassed, and sometimes others book and it becomes over booked then you dont get a break or lunch. Even while on lunch expect to be interrupted and be put back to work. Also you can expect the owner to call you 40 times a day. Your told the job description yet told to do things out of your job description. Many times patients would come out with needles still in them. Patients sometimes lay there for 30 minutes before the dr even go in. I quit due to stress, I mailed the keys in not knowing you couldnt send by regular mail. They charged me nearly $200 to replace locks. Honestly I feel like they just set the whole thing up because they are salty, if someone found random keys, I do not think they would know what in the world those keys were for. Over all just a bad experience working there. I heard things before, I should have listened but instead I learned the hard way.

This is probably the 5th different acupuncturist, I tried in my life, so I have seen some different skill levels and techniques. This was probably the worst treatment I ever received. I had to do an initial assessment that took 5 minutes tops that cost $60. It consisted of him reading what I wrote on the intake form. This was not covered in my medical plan because he charged me for my treatment on top of the initial assessment and Blue Cross only covers first $110 per treatment. I went back for a second treatment a few days later to confirm the quality of the treatment (biggest mistake). I have been in more pain after meeting with him than before I went. Now I must find someone to fix what he did wrong. The second treatment he spent only 30 minutes treating me and charged me for an hour treatment. I did not realize until I got to my car how long the time took. I called the next day and they confirmed that all treatment should take an hour. Maybe I should be happy because an hour with this quack could only cost me more money in the long run. STAY AWAY.

Upon recommendation from my mother, I went with her for a consultation with Dr. Rabe. The waiting…read moreroom is clean and tidy, albeit minutely small. I waited approx 45 minutes before the single receptionist was done with the one customer in front of me.. I'm not sure how this kind of service makes sense to a company wanting to be efficient, but thats their own prerogative. Dr. Rabe was engaging and very friendly, and we had a good consultation. Of course since the national health service doesn't pay for these kinds of visits, the entire process was astronomically expensive. I won't get into the efficacy of homeopathic remedies because thats a tired old matter which has been settled by hundreds of research studies overseen by the brightest minds, all to come to the conclusion that the entire field is bunk science. Make that expensive bunk science. But 40% of the effectiveness of any treatment plan is attributable to the placebo effect, so I can see it's use here. It's just a very expensive way to cure yourself with plain water. They do have a wide variety of other therapies, all backed by various levels of scientific proof, though most of them are very low on the scale of legitimacy as shown by double blind studies. This doesn't mean they don't work, it just means that the more you convince yourself that it really does work, the more likely you are to experience a nice placebo effect. Acupuncture, however, is an exception to this as it has been proven to have scientific credibility. To sum it up, this really isn't a bad place.. the staff are nice and welcoming. The facility is a little cramped, but that doesn't take away from the experience really. Personally it's just not my habit to spend tons of money on something I'm not entirely sure will work or not.
