Angel gave SUCH a great massage. The ladies at the front desk were super nice also. It was great up until checking out at the end. I wasn't clear on the service amount and asked the kind young lady at the front for clarification upon entering my total on their checkout tablet. She told me to enter $130 as opposed to what I was paying which was $80. I wasn't sure why at first but Once she explained it was fine no biggie but the super rude, condescending manager assumed I was referring to tipping and had the nerve to explain what a tip is. I'm not an idiot... I think every adult knows what a tip is, not to mention I always tip and had no intention not to. That wasn't even related to my question at all. I went in on Friday evening for a well-overdue massage. The front desk young lady was very pleasant and explained some of the specials they were running for the month. This was my first appointment with Alexa, and I was very much pleased with the overall message. Just eew. My masseuse had freezing cold hands. Plus milked the time of the massage. Meaning he didnt massage, just rubbed and stopped. Worst experience ever. I think he ate something bad because his stomach kept growling and he smelled. Update: I did receive a call from the manager and was advised that it wasn't that the masseuse wasn't good but that every masseuse isn't for everyone. How about the masseuse sucks. Period. If I could give zero stars I would! This location is so unorganized and they are LIARS. I came here on my birthday November 23rd because my sister gave me a credit for one massage session. I booked my appointment , told them about the credit and everything was booked and good to go. First, with massage envy they want a card number on file in case you are a no call no show for your appointment then you'd get changed... so long story short they ended up charging my card $65 dollars when that was supposed to be covered with the free credit I had. After the massage was done, the girl at the front desk didn't even give me a warning letting me know she was charging my card. Later in the day I checked my bank account and noticed the charge so of course I called and I was told the next day on November 24th that my refund was processed and would take 3-5 business days to reach my account. IT IS NOW DECEMBER 9th AND STILL NO REFUND. I've been calling this place for two weeks asking to speak to the manger Danielle and she has yet to give me a call back like her employees are saying to me or she's NEVER working. WellSpa Suites does great massages & has more to offer as well as they work with your schedule instead of just trying to cancel your appt. I scheduled a appt last month and was able to reschedule my appt with no trouble. now this month they wanna talk abt a policy. maybe the staff needs more training where everyone knows the policy. read more

I had a great experience at this location. A friend of mine gifted me with a massage, so I schedule one at this location. Upon arrival, I entered into a very clean, spacious waiting area, where I was greeted by two lovely ladies. George was my therapist and was wonderful! He was extremely attentive to my problems areas and made me feel extremely comfortable. This massage was transferred to me by another member. I wish that I knew that I would be charged an extra $20, even though the massage I got was given to me by another person. I would have not gotten the 90 minute massage if I knew this. I'd been using this location for a while. My first couple massages were okay but I noticed when you pay for 60 minute massage you did not get that. They would chop 20 minutes off -10 for you to get undressed and 10 to get dressed. Scam likely?! So my last massage was a whole disappointment. I usually see Paula since she does prenatal massages. I've been seeing her since I was 6 weeks pregnant and I'm currently 25. I told the girl I wanted to get on her schedule after my last visit as I always do. She said I'm all set and I left. I come in over a month last and I'm scheduled with some lady I don't know. I'm upset but the lady at the front can't only apologize and offer me add ons. I go ahead and do the massage because my body hurts at this point in my pregnancy. We spend almost 20 minutes discussing what she can and can't do. Finally I get undressed and she begins massaging me. It lasted 30 minutes and she told me we were done. Now I'm irritated because not only did they screw up scheduling but she cut my massage short because she had another appointment behind mine so she had to start that one. Needless to say I went ahead and cancelled this subscription with my job. I definitely don't recommend massage envy in a whole. You will never get what you pay for. Nobody needs 10 mins to get undressed and you definitely don't cut somebodies massage short just because you started late. I cannot rate on the actual massage service but the customer service of this location is extremely poor. I had a massage scheduled and was contacted just a few hours before to cancel my massage because they were "out of sheets". When I spoke with the manager Shameka she was less than accommodating or apologetic placing the blame on the cleaning company rather than taking ownership for the inconvenience. She offered a free session enhancement which is only a $10 value. The company will charge you in full as a client if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice (in this case more than $100) however will not provide any reasonable compensation if they cancel on you. The real catch is this is the second time this has happened with late notice cancellations. read more

This is one of the few places I would give a zero if it were possible. I purchased a gift certificate - then misplaced it - but when I called in - I was told to give them some time and that they should probably be able to find the gift certificate number using my name and method of payment used to purchase. The next day a Massage Envy associate called me back and confirmed that the gift certificate number was on file and I could use it. I even wrote the certificate number down so I would have it in case there were any problems later. I made an appt with a female masseuse and I arrived about 10 minutes early for the appointment. Upon my arrival - I was told that my masseuse "had an emergency and would I mind using what's-his-face instead?" And what's-his-face is standing right there while the clueless receptionist asks me this. For the sake of this review - I'm going to call him Brandon instead of what's-his-face because I'm tired of typing what's-his-face. Okay. So. Because I'm human. And I have my moments of actually caring what people think. I say okay, I'll use Brandon instead of re-scheduling. All the while I'm kicking myself because 1) I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be able to relax in a room where I'm semi-nude and a strange man is rubbing my body and 2) if my boyfriend knew I was getting a massage from the opposite sex he would probably not be amused. But oh well - I decide - not hurting Brandon's feelings or having Brandon think - that I think - that he wants to jump my bones is more important than anything else right? The human psyche is a funny, funny thing. So off I go. Brandon tells me to undress to the point of comfort and lie face down on the table, so I remove my socks, shoes and shirt. I lie face down on the table and drape the sheet over me. Brandon comes in and starts working on me and within 10 minutes, he very politely requests that I remove the bra so he can better access my shoulders. Then I wind up having to remove my skirt instead of hiking it up so he can better access my legs. And keep in mind this is long, flowy skirt - not a pencil skirt from Mad Men or anything. Brandon did his best but I wound up lying on that table stiff as a board, wearing nothing but my panties, just waiting for it to be over. Now don't get me wrong - I did not feel violated. And I did not think Brandon was turned on by my many cellulite dimples, fat thighs or old lady boobs (lol) - but if I needed to get naked except for my panties - why not just say that at the onset? And why did that idiot receptionist put me on the spot by asking me with him standing right there? And why didn't they call me to reschedule as soon as they knew the female masseuse wasn't going to be able to make the appt. And why didn't I just 'woman up' and say, "I want to reschedule with a female masseuse!" But that's still not enough to warrant one star. The one star treatment came when it was time to pay. They allegedly couldn't find evidence of my gift certificate #. Luckily - I had it written down in my planner. I went out to my car to get my planner (and fyi - I shoulda just jumped in my car and squealed outta that parking lot like Daisy Duke in the General Lee - what? I have brothers.) Any way. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what happened next. Of course - the wonderfully helpful receptionist tells me my gift certificate number is invalid. She informs me that I will have to present an alternate method of payment until they "could figure it out." So I did. I really wanted my refund, so in the two weeks following my massage, I called back 3 times and sent one email before I was finally told that they the gift certificate number was, indeed, valid and I could come back any time and it would be on file for use. Yeah right. Fool me once, shame on me . . . I wound up paying $50 for the most awkward, uncomfortable massage I've ever experienced. I blame both me and Massage Envy. I should've spoken up but at the same time the receptionist needs some training and the old bait and switch when it came time to pay was simply unforgiveable. read more

This Massage Envy location doesn't even deserve one star. I called ahead and scheduled an appointment for a couples massage for my husband and I. Everything is going great until we get in the massage room and my therapist starts doing some form of reiki on me instead of giving me the relaxing massage I have so looked forward to. The therapist used so much massage lotion and every time he had to get more it was ridiculously loud, as I could hear him vigorously rubbing his hands together. My husband even commented later about how loud and obnoxious it was. There was no massage at all, only a rub here and there but mostly placing pressure on certain spots without any movement. So there I am, halfway through my massage and just wishing it would be over with, just like a blind date gone wrong, only I couldn't use going to the restroom as an excuse to jet! I somehow managed to get through it without getting up and walking out, but trust me it was only because my husband seemed relaxed and like he was enjoying his massage. I make it to the end and the front desk receptionist asks how our massages were. I am a pretty honest person so I inform her that I am not satisfied with the massage. In front of the therapist she asks me what exactly I wasn't pleased with. I proceeded to tell her and she looked me dead in the eye and suggested I sign up for another massage later the next week. Yeah right! Just what I want to do, pay another 50 bucks for a "massage" I could have given myself. No thanks lady. She never offers any other suggestions on how to handle it besides throwing in an aroma therapy add on to my next massage. Uh? Really? Again, no thanks. As I am paying 100 bucks for our massages that I have made very clear I am not satisfied with, she tells me a manager will be in touch with me. This was a week ago, and SURPRISE! no manager or anyone else for that matter has contacted me. Not happy =( My husband and I came here for a couples massage on Valentine's Day. We were looking forward to this for weeks! I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant so the prenatal massage I had been dreaming about! The guy that I got, asked me where I would like him to focus on. I told him my lower/mid back and neck. I would love a full body but mostly focusing on my lower back and neck. First off we paid for an hour. They didn't start till 15 after and stopped at 5 till. They said that technically it's an hour but you only get 50 mins (because of changing) I thought that was stupid plus they don't start till 15 after so we only got 40 mins... And we had been laying there waiting for them to come in after changing for what felt like forever. Once the massage started the guy worked mostly on my upper back.. His "rubbing on my neck" was more like squeezing, it didn't feel good or professional at all and he kept sniffling his stuffy nose and I could feel one hand keep leaving my back, I was scared he was wiping his nose on his arm or something--he used his arm to rub on my back too. Being that it was a prenatal massage I was on my side.. The only other part of my body he rubbed was half of my legs and the arches of my feet.. So much for my focal points. Leaving I didn't feel any better and neither did my husband. We wound up going home and giving each other massages... Waste of money. I emailed to cancel my membership back in dec and made several phone calls to get this correct but never heard back. Today I booked at Camp Creek but the only way to get the massage was to pay from back in Dec. I had no choice because I need this massage. i waited on a massage therapist for 30 minutes pass my appointment time at this location before I decided to leave because I had a previously scheduled appointment elsewhere for work. Guess what I decided after that to never go to this Austell location again. This was my first time because it's closer to my home although I usually go to Marietta location. Well weeks later I decided to go back to Windy Hill location only to notice that since I purchased a package of 3 one hour massages they had shortened one to 30 minutes stating I walked out of Austell appointment. My card was also recharged for three additional massages without my consent and I had to go through hoops to get that refunded. Fast forward years later I went to get a massage at a massage envy in another city and was told that Austell had placed a block on my account and they could not do massage until speaking with that store. I have been a member of Massage Envy for over four years and this is the worst run branch I have ever been to! They cannot keep a consistent staff of masseuses for some reason. Countless times I had to make appointments four weeks in advance (forget about trying to book less than four weeks in advance on a weekend!) and get a call several days before the appointment to cancel because the staff member was no longer with them. Fortunately my membership is with the Dunwoody branch, which is more than adequately staffed, but a 30 minute drive! read more

This place is awful. It's dirty and so not relaxing. Bathroom had roaches, massage room carpet was disgusting and room had skid marks all over the walls. My therapist reeked of cigarettes making it difficult for me to relax. I came in wanting a deep tissue but left receiving a creepy rub down. I left more stressed than when I got there. I wanted to walk out during my session but didn't think massage envy would give me my money back (esp. reading other reviews). I do not recommend this location. read more

I consider myself a pretty reasonable person and my expectations aren't hard to meet. I don't expect a 5-star massage at a massage chain, but I expect to be relaxed and cared about as a customer. I've been a member at another rival chain and I wanted to give this location close to my home a try. I had the worst massage of my life this weekend! It was choppy, awkward, and the therapist wreaked of cigarettes, which made the whole experience even worse. I didn't feel relaxed at all. I asked the therapist to focus on two spots, my legs/hips and shoulders. He only did my shoulders and spent 90% of the time on one shoulder so I felt uneven and never touched my front. He used an elbow most of the time and was scratching my skin with a dry towel with his other hand - wtf?! I don't feel like I received a service equal to what I paid for. The young lady at the front desk told me I could come back and try another therapist, but I would have to pay the non-member rate. I was willing to come back, but if you think I'm going to pay as much as I would pay for a massage at a 4-Star hotel, you must be crazy, especially after I had such a horrible experience. The only reason I resorted to writing this review is that I was willing to give them another chance and was told the manager would reach out me. It's been 48 hours and no call back. my experience here last week was wonderful. i came in after a weekend of skiing and just getting over being sick, and flying in from new york that morning. i've had lower back pain since i was very young that no doctor can figure out the cause of / diagnose. the only thing that seems to help is very deep pressure massages. however i can't afford the luxury of getting them often. anyway my therapist (sam i think?) was fantastic, very professional, and i really felt like he was listening and very attentive to all my focal points. the front desk staff was so kind and attentive. i left feeling refreshed and in an overall good mood. i still feel great. thank you! read more

I was in a series of car accidents that left me with a ruptured disc, degenerative disc disease, cervical kyphosis, osteoarthritis, and fibromyalgia. I had spinal fusion in 2009, but the damage has been done and I live in constant pain. My surgeon recommended massage therapy to help relieve my pain, it was the best suggestion I could've been given. I lived very close to a Massage Envy in Chesapeake VA, but we got relocated to a very small town in Georgia about 4 years ago. My first task was to find my nearest Massage Envy. To my dismay, my nearest ME was 30 miles away. After looking closer to my home for a massage therapist, I couldn't find a place that offered the price and professionalism that ME provided. So now I drive 30 miles every month to see Sam, my therapist, and he is worth every single second of that drive. I will remain a ME member wherever I go, wherever I live, regardless of the distance. My wife got me a gift card for our anniversary to here, it's been about 2 years since I've had one and it felt great. When I showed up the masseuse was a woman not sure if the wife was playing a trick on me or what. Anyway for a one hour massage it's only $39.99 which is not bad at all. Unfortunately, select front desk staff at this location are unequivocal idiots. Platinum-level morons. I have had "additional charges" for services which I was not notified about and have tried to talk with them in-person and over the phone to no success. I "gifted" a massage to my mother which they royally botched and ruined her experience too. The utter disregard for human dignity and respect, and aggressive malaise toward customers is appalling. I look forward to transferring my business to different location. Having the "front desk from hell" be the top and tail of a relaxing experience is not worth your hard-earned money. I have had the worst time with this place!!! First off, I have Lupus, RA, & fibromyalgia. When I first called last year to make an appointment I explained that to them and I asked them if they had anyone who specialized in these types of diseases. I was told that they did indeed have someone there that had just went through specialized training for such things. I went ahead and signed up for the monthly massage deal so I could save money and hopefully use massage therapy for trying to alleviate some of my pain. When I went in for my appointment I had a very nice very young man as my therapist. He began and we talked as he was going. I asked him about his specialized training and he proceeds to tell me that he had none and that his mom has Lupus so that is why they thought he would be a good fit. I was floored that I had been lied too but he was nice and I thought it would be ok. I was seriously so sore after that, it sent my body into a flare up. It took several weeks to get back to having less pain. It took me several months to reschedule for fear of it happening again and sure enough, the same thing happened. After the third time (same results) I went to my Reumatologist and she asked me to stop having the massage, saying it was doing more harm than good as they do not specialize in the type of therapy I needed. I called them up and canceled. I had to send in a letter form my Dr saying that it needed to end. They finally let me out of my contract after 2 months of going back and forth. At that point I had 2 more massages that I had paid for and instead of asking them to refund my money I was told i could gift them to someone else and they wouldn't charge me the $10 fee it normally costs to gift a massage. It took me a few months to decide who I would give them too. I called last week to tell them who I wanted to gift them to and was told they expired!!! WHAT?? How can a service I paid for expire and you get to keep my money too??? That makes no sense! No one told me that they expire or I would've done this sooner. Then I was basically called a liar by Danielle saying that, "you were definitely told because there is a note in the computer saying they will expire". Just because there is a note does not mean that someone transcribed that to me and I do not appreciate being told I am lying! Buyer beware! DO NOT USE THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! THEY LIE AND STEAL YOUR MONEY! THEY ShOULD BE SHuT DOWN! This is why you should never use these little cookie cutter massage places. BEWARE BAIT AND SWITCH!!! I came here for my initial massage and upon leaving, I was told if I signed up to be a member, I would receive one free massage. I went ahead and signed up and scheduled my extra free massage. I ended up having to cancel that appointment, but in the back of my head I knew I still had that one on my account. When I returned to get that free massage, all of a sudden they said they do not give free massages for signing up. Really?!?!? She then tried to make it seem like I misunderstood and that I wouldn't have to pay when I came in because my account had already paid for the massage. But how could I misunderstand scheduling an extra free massage before the first charge to pay for the massage was scheduled to go through. It's too late now and I'm stuck being a member, but on the plus side, I can go to any location so I will definitely be using my massages at the Acworth location.
