She asked about everything that was bothering me before we started and made sure to really focus on those areas. My back feels so much better already. I felt comfortable the whole time, and the massage was exactly what I needed. Overall such a great experience, and I can't wait to come back!! I also did 30 minutes on the LED light table before my massage, and it was such a relaxing way to start my appointment. First and foremost I want to say that the level of professionalism at this location can be improved immensely. I scheduled a 90 minutes (service ) which included an 30 minute stretch and a 60 minute massage. I specifically called to book these appointments and was quoted the price would be $130. Cool! I arrive to my appointment 15 minutes early and my massage therapist did not come to get me until 3 minutes after the appointment start time. This was the first red flag, after 20 minutes into my (30) minutes stretch she stopped and said ok, now we'll work on your massage. In the back of my mind I'm think ummm ok! I could have sworn I booked a (30) minutes stretch. She stopped the stretch at exactly (20) and then left the room for (5) minutes before starting my massage. When I asked about the time on the stretch she literally said well "technically it's a (20) minutes massage and a (50) minutes massage. Well, now I'm really pisses because I'm sure they should have explained these "technicalities before booking my session. This is call False advertising!!! 1000%. So . After my services were done I was not offered any water and changed $145.00 for the full time of a (30) minute stretch and (60) massage. When addressing my concerns to management, I felt I had to defend myself and go back and forth regarding the logic behind the misrepresentation of the services time and cost. As a paying customer and for someone who went to lay to relax , I was left with more stress and frustration that could have been handled more professionally the moment that I addressed my disappointment. I will be contact corporate and filing a complaint with state board immediately concerning the unprofessional and false advertisement of sales and services. I will never go to this location , and from the looks of it, I should have read the reviews on Yelp before spending my hard earned money somewhere, it's not appropriated. Long story short my review of the overall services itself was an 6/10. Nothing special and I never felt not 1 since pressure point touched of relieved of stress! :( Twila was my therapy Just FYI! I asked for the owners number over the phone and they refused to provide it even tho it is posted in their lobby for any concerns people may have. I've had nothing but a fantastic experience with this location. The front staff is so friendly and accommodating. They are a big help at helping you explore all options and determining what type of plan is best for you. Melissa was my therapist today and she was attentive, kind, professional and more. She listened to exactly what I was looking for and delivered. I also felt comfortable asking questions and learning how a membership may benefit me and decrease my back pain. I'm currently doing a 3-month trial and if it goes well and does in fact decrease my average pain, I'll be doing a membership. You can't beat $65 a month for a massage and $45 add on services. read more

Massage Envy in Fairlawn does not support honest healthcare workers during the covid pandemic. I have been a loyal client for about 6 years now and have seen the same therapist since the beginning. I was called to set up appointments that were missed out due to the temporary closure; during this call I was asked if I knew any other healthcare givers that I would like to nominate to possibly receive a gift card or discount on services there... I confirmed as usual via text for appointment the day before and was given some instruction as to their protocol and told that I would get a survey upon arrival time. I even had some extra texts in there to clarify. After arriving I was supposed to call them to let them know and so they could send a survey. One of the survey questions asks if I have been within 6 feet of a person that could have covid. We all could have covid, and I work in surgery in a hospital. The question didn't ask if I had on layers of PPE and sterile attire on. Or if the potential positive corona patient had multiple negative tests. Because I answered truthfully on a survey that I was sent in my car, I was denied service. They could have sent me that survey when I was at home. Staff said they would have manager Gina give me a call but I am yet to hear anything. After talking with Gina I am bumping the 1 star to 3 because she agreed clarification was needed for that question and that I should have been given the survey at home instead of the parking lot. She has to talk to owners about this as it also affects her personnel--time is money. Gina contacted me within 25 hours of my appointment as that day had been her first day off in months. I will bump to 5 stars if I am able to be assured I will be able to get a massage if I leave my house to get a massage, before this pandemic is over in November, it would be sooner if people realized that they have to adapt to the new normal, like before 9/11 and after. read more

I'm not a fan of Massage Envy in general because their bigger concern seems to be getting memberships sold than giving decent massages and facials. But my husband likes them, so his sister got him a gift certificate to one for Chanukah in early December 2021. He's still waiting to get the massage. They gave him the wrong date for his first appointment, and the masseurs have called off and canceled the two subsequent appointments he's scheduled. (Each time he was notified with less than 24 hrs notice--if we canceled with less than that, we would have had to pay a fee!) Next year I'll tell his sister to get him a Visa gift card so he can go some place decent. read more

Joined as a member first quarter 2019. I pay $60 a month for deep tissue massages. They make me melt. Stress in neck n shoulders, back n neck, full body, they know what they are doing. If i had a way to give this 0 stars, i would. We have been loyal members for over 2 years and were recently transferred to an area outside of the 25 mile radius for a Massage Envy. We have credits for months of massages that Massage Envy will not honor, will not transfer and will not refund us our money. The only reason we are even getting out of being charged for the balance of this years contract is that we are submitting a utility bill that shows we have relocated to outside of their area. POOR customer service, Massage Envy, you should be ashamed of yourself that you reprimand your customers for moving outside of your service area by financially hitting them. read more

Worst customer service ever! Buyers beware! I read the reviews and still took a chance and got a membership for this company. Definitely won't make that mistake again. The massage therapists are more interested in talking the whole time than they are with allowing you to relax. The managers fees you a BS line but don't actually do anything to fix an issue. And you are held responsible when they "can't seem to find" the paperwork you know you filled out. There are so many quality salons definitely choose one of them and avoid Massage Envy Fairlawn at all costs! ***update after all the issues I had...they yet again billed me even though the manager clearly stated that it would be all taken care of and I would no longer be charged. So this was my first time going to Massage Envy and I really had high expectations. My close friend recommended that I go and get a facial and she told me everything that they would do. So I was really looking forward to the experience and signed up for a 60 minute facial. Checking in was easy and the front desk was very nice but a little pushy. I was brought back to the room pretty quickly. My esthetician asked a few questions and left me to change and get on the table. When she returned and got started she only explained a few things that she was doing through the whole process. She didn't look at my skin to make sure the treatment I was getting was correct and right for my skin. She didn't explain any of the products that she was using on my skin or tell me what she was doing. I couldn't relax and enjoy the experience due to this fact. The total experience only lasted, from the time I was brought back to the time I checked out, maybe only 40 minutes. I never received the full experience. I received no instruction about aftercare or anything that might potentially happen. It's been a couple of days since then, when I'm writing this, and my face has broken out very badly. 1 - Never felt relaxed when I was getting a massage. Therapist always complained about other employees and management as well as their own personal life. 2. Beware if you try to cancel your membership. When they asked me for a reason, I told them I was pregnant and moving. Then they told me I couldn't cancel because it has to be outside of 25 miles. But neglected to see that I had been a member for over a year so I could cancel at any time. They let me process the paperwork and they told me I wouldn't be charged again. The paperwork said this would happen within 10 days, which the 10th day conveniently fell on the day they were trying to charge me for another month. The manager called me to let me know that they couldn't process my payment, (because my card number had changed). I told them I cancelled,and that the girl that helped me told me that I wouldn't be charged. She pretty much said that it didn't matter their word meant nothing and that I still needed to pay. She had no empathy or understanding that her staff informed me wrong, so I told her I wasn't going to pay. She said she would mark it on my file and then ended the call abruptly. Worst massage ever. Finishing up a membership and had 3 sessions remaining. I was informed that I could use them for a 90 min with stone on my last day. I was then called 2 days prior and was told that my expiration was actually a day prior to the appointment and it is $25 extra for stone on top of using the remaining 3 sessions. The therapist, Jessica, was awful. She could not maintain the right pressure and her technique, lazy rubbing, suggested that she might benefit from remedial massage school. Rooms are always freezing. Everyone there is very polite and so sweet. I have had massages for years all over the Akron area and just recently saw Walter at Massage Envy. He is phenomenal. He listened to me, made suggestions and tweaks and knew just how to help with the pain I was in due to tension, stress and anxiety. He's the nicest guy and really knows what he's doing! I was booked for two appointments. There was a 30 minute interval inbetween appointments. The first therapist indicated that the othe therapist would be right in. I waited the 30 minutes, got dressed and ready to leave. As I was leaving someone knocked on the door. IT WAS 50 MINUTES UNTIL SOMEONE CAME TO CHECK ON ME. I was told by the therapist "I could not find you". Gina the manager was rude when she called me. She kept talking over me. All I wanted was my memebership canceled and refund for my unused massages. Omg I wish I'd read this before! I joined for 6 mos. Saw a charge on my debit card - didn't know it was a rotating monthly fee. I thought it was pay as you go. Shock #1. Shock number two came when I tried to cancel our appointments with 22 hours notice and was informed that I would owe half of the massage charge you a cancellation. So she was willing to alienate a new customer over 2 hours. I asked to speak with the manager and Cassandra informed me that she was the manager and that it began and ended with her. She was inflexible rude and poor customer service oriented. The therapist we got the first time were good and I have no complaints. But, I would really try to discourage anyone from joining this charade of membership. They will steal your money they will take advantage of you and they are very unscrupulous and RUDE. read more
