I mean this sincerely and wholeheartedly--she is an absolute gem. From the moment I walked in until the moment I floated out, the experience was nothing short of exceptional! Let me start by saying this: do NOT let her small frame fool you--Susan is mighty, and her skillset is next-level. She brings such a light, intuitive touch that somehow gets to the root of what your body truly needs. It's almost as if she has a sixth sense for where the pain, tension, or fatigue are hiding. I've had numerous surgeries and chronic aches. She treated me with the perfect mix of technical precision, compassion, and calming energy. Her knowledge of anatomy and physiology was immediately evident, and she never once made me feel like "just another appointment on the books." Susan genuinely "listened" to me--like, really listened. She took everything I told her and fashioned it into a personalized massage that felt like it was designed just for me. Her communication was excellent, but it was her empathy that truly set her apart. I left feeling not just physically better, but emotionally seen and cared for. Her professionalism never wavered, and yet she managed to keep the whole session warm, grounded, and peaceful. And while Susan was the highlight, I have to shout out the entire team. Although the service provided was good. This is not a business I support whatsoever. After getting my facial, I was harassed afterwards by a tech who was trying to coerce me into getting a membership as they are going up on their prices soon (during the height of covid). I politely declined many many times. Being harassed is not the reason for the 1 star, nor even the price increase during covid. What I attempted to do is then call each Lafayette location of Massage envy to get more information on this price increase. I called and asked since (both) locations are increasing their prices, does this also correlate to an Employee Wage Increase. I was informed that no, it doesn't, by one location, I was of course disgusted but not surprised. The second Lafayette location I called put me on hold for a manager to answer the phone, the manager then Harassed me for the question, almost outraged and said she was uncomfortable answering the question, though still true, and asked me if I was an employee, a former employee, a news media outlet, or a reporter. No I was a customer, and will not be returning, haven't been back since. These sick business practices like this (especially from a place who already charges so much) unfortunately don't hinder the franchise owners or higher ups, it only is a direct loogie/spit in the face to employees who work there. This place will delete your telephone number so they don't have to call with an appointment reminder. Mind appointments are made at least a month in advance and if you forget and they don't call you they will charge you $60, the full price of the massage. I wish I had never signed up. read more

I'm a member of Massage Envy "back home," but was traveling & thought I'd take the opportunity to get a massage while away. I love everything about this location! The building on the outside is very aesthetically pleasing. The parking lot is huge. There is handicap access. Inside, it smells like Peppermint. Not overwhelming, but nice. The staff is so friendly! And they took me on a tour to make sure I knew how to dim the lights & adjust the music so I'd be comfortable. My massage therapist was amazing! Craig recommended a torso massage based on my complaints. And during the massage, he listened to my requests for less pressure. This man must bench press Humvees! Do not get a membership. Totally not worth it. This place will rip you off and make it an ordeal to cancel after your year is up. Spent well over $500 and had 1-2 massages in a year and a half and they continue billing you and won't send you the cancellation policy and will not refund you. This is the Puppy Mill of massages. You kind of feel like a sausage on a conveyor belt here, but I suppose if you are in dire straights for a massage, these are your peeps. I only called this place because I wanted a massage on seriously a 2 hour notice and I knew the Walmart of Massage could help me out. It's not that much cheaper than going to a nice local spa so I can't defend it on that aspect. Admittedly, I'm a totally snob so perhaps not everyone would judge it so harshly. He also worked on a chronic neck injury that I've had for over 3 years. I've sought out relief for this pain on 4 continents, trying any and every type of therapy. Unfortunately there are no ME's around where I live, so I have to drive about 2 hrs to the nearest one. Today I had the pleasure of having Kira as my therapist and oh my goodness SHE's the one! She did an outstanding job, took care of me while being very pleasant and professional! She's worth driving those two hours there and back! My last 2 massages I've had at this establishment have been far from relaxing. When asked what my problem spots were i told them my FEET, neck, shoulders, and lower back. BOTH times the masseuse (two different women) did not even touch my feet. The first massage wasn't even completely finished before the girl said "okay. times up" my first massage, i listened to the girl talk about her ex boyfriend and her cat for an entire hour, AND she told me she "forgot to turn on the bed warmer" The second one was a little bit better because there was no talking but she did do things that made it not very relaxing. such as put the lotion on top of the bed next to my head between each use. I came to Lafayette from Houston with my boyfriend this past weekend for a meeting for his company. While he was in the meeting he gave me his card for a spa day (boyfriend of the year award?!) I decided to come here for a massage, even though there weren't too many reviews on here. Let me just say I was pleasantly surprised! The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful, especially since it was my first professional massage. I had Katherine and she was wonderful! The only reason I give it 4 stars is because of the pricing. Since it was my first time I got the massage for $39 with an added $12 for deep tissue work. Normally they are around $79. I have been a loyal customer for this location for over ten years. I have had the best therapist to work with but my most recent experience with the front desk staff and management has caused me never to return to this location. I was contacted recently that I missed an appointment and was accused of lying that I did not cancel the appointment in advance. I had scheduled and cancelled an appointment in the same day and the massage envy employee did not complete the cancellation, making it appear that I had missed an appointment. The staff member told me that his staff does not make scheduling errors and that they had called and confirmed with me, which was not true. I called the assistant manager the next day and reviewed my experience. I had to ask for an apology, which she gave with little enthusiasm and asked me " if I wanted to get anything else off my chest". I found this to be quite a degrading and rude comment. I think she thought I was looking for free service or something. I decided today not to return to Massage Envy after this experience. The unfortunate thing is that this business has provided a great service to me with true, professional therapist that I will miss greatly. read more

BE WARE! Don't ever make the mistake of giving them your credit card information or signing a contract. I have paid a monthly dues for over a year and finally decided to end my membership when they let me know it was time to update the expiration date on my card. The problem was, THEY REFUSED TO LET ME USE THE MULTIPLE PREPAID MASSAGES THAT THEY ALREADY HAD MY MONEY FOR UNLESS I WOULD GIVE THEM A NEW CREDIT CARD. I explained to them that I had received gift certificates and would prefer to use those. They would not let me make an appointment without getting another credit card. It's obvious I can't use the ones I've already paid for fast enough plus the gift certificates. I WAS SELLELING FOR THE POOR SERVICE BECAUSE THE LOCATION WAS NEAR MY OFFICE, BUT THESE THIEVES CAN KEEP MY MONEY. I will never go back. It's a scam! read more
