This place is the worst! I wish I could give them zero stars!! The staff is not helpful and they are absolutely NOT on the same page with each other! I went in for a deep tissue massage a year ago. When I arrived they told me no one was there to do the deep tissue so I got a sub par massage from one of their techs. I somehow let the girl at the front desk talk me into buying a membership with the promise that they normally had someone on staff to do the deep tissue. I went back one more time and got another awful massage. I paid them monthly for a year without using their services. Two months before my contract was to be up I called to make sure there was nothing I needed to do on my end. I was told when the contract was up it was up. Then I received another bill. When I called to ask why I was told I needed to fill out a form or would continue to be charged. Why wasn't I told this before?? When I told the receptionist about the previous conversation and that we needed to end this contract because I had been paying for services I never used she laughed at me. Awesome. I'd give them a 0 if it was an option. They were very rude. Refused to do my facial because I wouldn't take out a piercing. After I drove over an hr to get here. Then wouldn't let me change it to a massage. But of corse they made me sit there for 25 mins before they told me anything. The massage portion was good and I have no complaints about that aspect. However, there is a lot of pressure to join the monthly membership program after the massage and what was supposed to be an hour massage started at 5:35 and I was off the table by 6:25. There are better values for massage at non-chain providers. It is like fast food quality and gym membership pressure. read more

Overall, I was very pleased with my experience at Massage Envy (ME) in the Boro. I did have a membership and got it before the prices changed. My membership was $49.99 a month. I was a member for about 2.5 years. Let's talk about the positive: My masseuse, Laurel, was an amazing one! She gave the most fantastic massages ever! I don't have a single complaint about her. Being on a membership, she knew everything about my pains and knew to ask about my favorite shows (I'm a talker and very much was during our massage sessions) on tv and even recommended a few books which I read and loved! I really miss her. During my 2.5 years with them, I had some financial difficulties a couple of times and Will (manager) worked with me and he was very, very understanding of my situation(s). He always showed me respect and listened to my concerns. The negative: The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I read a couple of reviews that I have to agree with. Paying a membership (or not), I would think I would get a full hour but I noticed every time that I only got 45 - 50 minutes of session. This was not only with Laurel -- this happened with a couple other masseuses before I decided to continue on with Laurel only. I think the establishment sets those rules. I don't know if it's just ME or other massage places too. Another downside, it seems as a year passed (there were a few times that I hadn't gone in such a long time that I had "leftover" paid massages), and I tried to make an appointment, it was harder to do in such short notice. When I first started my membership I remember making appointments for the same week but after about a year and half, I had to make an appointment for 3 weeks out. However, I wasn't willing to change my masseuse at all! Contracts: I never had a problem with my contract. They were very specific and upfront about everything with me. I read a review that I disagree with. When they gave me the pamphlet the day I became a member, I read every single line (INCLUDING the fine print...ALWAYS read the fine print) so that there are no surprises....and there weren't when I cancelled my membership. I submitted my notice a month ahead like they requested...and followed up to make sure a few days later and had no problems. I would not have cancelled my membership at all if I wasn't still going through some financial hardships. If I decide to get a membership in the future, I definitely will at the Boro location! read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I ABSOLUTELY WOULD! This is the worst place you could possibly go! I went to the location 1 time and signed up for a membership. When I tried to schedule appointments there was never a therapist there available. After 3 months of paying the premium I decided to cancel. I called and they told me that I would have to pay out the remainder of my contract. So begrudgingly I did just to get out of the contract for services I was not using. I paid them over $500 to cancel my contract and another $500 to cancel my husbands. In September of this year I started to get phone calls that I needed to pay them for the membership. I advised them that I paid my contract in full and that I was not going to pay anything more for services that I did not use. They continued to harass me for additional payment on services I had already canceled. They then took $330 dollars out of my CLOSED bank account over drafting me. WE HAVE USED THE SERVICES ONE TIME!!! ONE TIME and they have charged me over $1200 and have refused to refund me the money they STOLE out of my account. When we contacted Corporate and the lady was EASILY able to tell that we canceled our services. The manager here refuses to refund me the money they took and continues to try and extort money from me for services. DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT! THEY ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS!!! read more

Worst customer service. Don't let them trick you into a membership. They told me I could give months away to whoever I wanted but that person could only use one every two months. That's fair I understand, but I saved up two for my parents 26th anniversary and They have never had a massage last two times I was in there they told me I could set up for a couples. I went to set it up today for them and they told me no I can ONLY give it to ONE BUT I can BUY a gift card, as if spending money in my contract every month wasn't good enough they said we have specials you can BUY for Christmas! Wanting me to spend more. I already asked twice prior to and they told me that was fine! Lesson learn! Worst customer service and I Will be canceling my contract and if they THINK they are going to charge me... that's fine. I'll have my card canceled before I do this. I've been a member of Massage Envy for years - in a different state. I loved it so much, I bought another membership for my hubby! Well, we relocated as few months ago & OMG! Night & Day difference! We can NEVER seem to get 1.5hr in the couples room without it being in the middle of the day (hello!?! We work!) & that appointment is ALWAYS a month to a month and a half away!! ;{~ Seriously?!?!? Either hire more therapists, get a larger facility, or maybe someone should open up another franchise location in the city! I'm so fed up with trying to set appts - I tell the front desk gal what hours & days work - & we need the 1.5hr min.....they always try to book me out at an hour??? NOT LISTENING or just down selling! Go somewhere else if you want what you want & when you need it! Rather than wait till March???? we are going to drive to another city to use up our hours, then I'm closing my membershipS....yes, capital S....multiple, not just one! we are that dissatisfied! Ridiculous to need to wait this long to get in. They raise their prices, in spite of the bad publicity with sexual misconduct issues in the past corporate wide....and the service gets worse! I've read the good therapists leave in other reviews...yes, we've experienced this too. There's a reason for that everyone! Would you stay if you weren't happy or making enough money? After approx 8 years as a member, looks like we will be looking elsewhere for a massage membership....somewhere that we can feel respected for our business loyalty & get what and approx when we want!
