I was given a Massage Envy gift card and was finally able to use it. It was my first visit to ME, and the experience was wonderful! I don't recall the name of the person who did the massage, but she did a great job! Knowing it was my first visit, she was extremely helpful with making me feel comfortable and letting me know what to expect. The people who work up front were also very friendly. It happened again! I've been waiting for a month to get a massage, have an appointment scheduled for today at 4:30, I get a call at 11:30am and they tell me that they can't get me in due to someone being out. They tell me they're going to try and find someone to fill in. I just got a call back from them, 1:30pm, and they tell me they can't get me in today....again! 2 appointments in a row, both cancelled the day of the massage..."we don't have an available massage therapist". Are you kidding me? Why does this not surprise me? My recommendation for ME Simpsonville.....Shut down, re-group, and open back up when you can provide the service that people are paying for! read more

Wish I had seen these reviews before booking! Unfortunately you have to leave at least one star to post a review. So I too have booked a 60 minute massage for 75 USD online. They text today to confirm my appointment tomorrow at 11am, I replied yes. A few hours later, they have called me and left a voice message saying the online price I booked was for members only... and that my massage will actually be 125 USD! A HUGE INCREASE!!!! I called them back and asked them to honour the price that I booked the massage for and they would not. I said they are falsely luring people to book massages at cheaper rates and they were not backing down at all. I said I would be reporting them to the local Ombudsman and they just replied "if that's what you want to do, go ahead". Absolute joke of a company who are falsely advertising their business. AVOID AVOID AVOID.... SCAMMERS!!!! I'll be checking that they don't take any money off my credit card as you have to use it to book the appointment.... I had a massage scheduled but unfortunately was unable to attend my session. My husband had a emergency call and was unable to stay with our son. I spoke to the representative explained my situation on the day of the massage and tried to rescheduled and was advised I could but they would be taking my whole credit of the gift certificate massage. As a customer I could understand taking a portion of the certificate but the whole thing is insane. Empathy is definitely not a skill Massage Envy has. read more

A day before the appointment I received a call that the rates on the website are for "members only" and that my massage would be $125. I told her to cancel this appointment. And then said that they would charge me a cancellation fee on my card if I did not call back to cancel. What are you talking about, take my card info then say it is 20% higher, and if I cancel they will hit my card? This is the old bait and switch routine, snake oil sales model. I have been to a massage envy in the past and had haphazard service. I was pleasantly surprised with the Simpsonville location and have no hesitation recommending them. Because of a back injury in the past I get very tight - Cheryl my massage therapist - was able to listen to my past experience and work with me to help release some of my stiffness. Very professional and knowledgeable I felt I could trust her to adjust pressure as needed. The entire staff was very welcoming and friendly - the atmosphere soothing. I have the membership, where I pay $64 a month (something like that) and I get an hr free massage every month. The workers are very attentive to making sure I book an appointment. OK-I realize this is sort of a strange thing to do but I have to say this is a great place. I have only experienced two people here, including the front office people who have treated me kindly every time. Today, I went to Trey who did an amazing job. Polite, respectful and an excellent experience overall. I really appreciate that they are there. I know that the subscription is somewhat of an irritant to many people and I certainly don't take advantage of it like I should. Went in for a facial and the therapist started to put the product on my face using 1 finger. Within 30 seconds, I told her it was burning and she asked if I wanted to stop. I said yes and she wiped off the product. I got up, went to the front desk and asked to speak with the manager. The person at the front desk said she was the manager and I quietly explained what happened. She said I had to pay for the service, again I explained that I did not receive a service and that my face was bright red and stinging from the product used. She would not let me leave until I gave her $20 in cash, which I did so I could go home to put cold compresses on my face. read more

Terrible service. I set up an appointment for my wife and gave a credit card to pay for the appointment. My wife shows up and was not able to have her massage; so she rescheudled. On her rescheduled day they charged her a 20 dollar transfer fee, after I had already given them my cc info and was told it was a 10 dollar fee. Their app doesn't work and don't expect anyone in the office to help you make it work. When I first signed up they couldn't process my cc for months because they input the wrong address into their system. The first massage I had there was great. Then thst masseuse left and I was stuck being a member there. I cannot wait for this year to expire. Go get the cheap first massage but run far far away when they try and sign you up for a year's membership. read more

My experience at massage envy was very negative , would not recommend this place to anyone. I was given one price online and another at the store. I informed them that I wasn't willing to pay the price she gave me and asked was there anything they could do on the price and she said no. I asked multiple times what could be done about the price and she said nothing. I left and once I got almost home she called me and said she could do 50% off. But why couldn't that discount be done while I was at the store? I will never go to ANY massage envy again. Each store chooses their own policy to go by and chooses when to go by it. read more

BEWARE!!!!! massage envy is a rip-off!! last spring my hubs treated me to a massage. I paid for my massage, and let them talk me into a monthly debit. I believed I was signing that it was okay for them to debit monthly. I was not informed that this is a year long contract!! I had to cancel my card to make them stop debiting from my account. I only figured out this was a contract when I checked credit karma and there is massage envy sitting in collections for $708.00!! I feel this is very predatory. If they are as awesome as they claim, why do they have to trick people into a contract? FOR MASSAGES!?!?!? Not a cell phone, for which they are giving you an expensive piece of equipment.... Sooo, I actually received 1 massage, for which I paid, and now they say I owe them $708.00. BEWARE!! read more

I was a previous Massage Envy member for five years. I moved to South Carolina and decided to try them again. In my prior experience, in Virginia, I tried multiple different massage therapists and almost quit using their service due to lack of consistent good massages. I did try one more therapist and stayed with them/him for five years. I have had similar experience with the Massage Envy in Simpsonville, I'm still looking for the best therapist who can provide consistent excellent massages. I am still looking. I initially signed up for a 6 months trial given my prior experience. The Simpsonville clinic continued to charge me for monthly service after my 6 month trial. Of course, the trial membership is not really a trial. In order to cancel the 6 month membership you still have to complete a cancellation form. My last two massages were cancelled the day of and the day before my scheduled massages. I know for a fact if I cancelled inside of 24 hours prior to my scheduled massage, I would be charged for the missed appointment. However if they cancel (twice in a row) I can't get a refund. Again, I'm requesting a refund for being charged beyond my six month trial, for two massages cancelled by the clinic. I now have two months to use the "extra" massages charged beyond my six month trial. I will not be using Massage Envy again. Buyer beware. read more

I had my second massage done on Wednesday by Donna Snyder. She did an excellent job!! I received a full body massage with a concentration on areas where I was having pain which was my lower back and legs. She also did a foot scrub. She spent adequate time on each area of my body and didn't rush. I felt so good when she was done. I recommend her to everyone. The front desk service was friendly and courteous. My experience was great. I have been in several ME franchises across the country and this one is by far the nicest. The staff is very friendly and capable. My therapist was, Ashley, who I highly recommend. She was QUIET and attentive to my needs. The facility is very clean and the mood is relaxing. They did ask me about a membership and I said, "no," and that was the end of it; no high pressure, or attitude. It seems that a LOT of other people agree with me since the place was very busy. If you are new to massage you should be aware that a "1 hour massage" is the time limit for your visit. But, the massage itself covers specific areas of your body so if you are 4'6" tall and weigh 80 lbs you can expect to be done quicker than someone the size of pro basketball player. If I could give a negative star I would. I also have no complaints about the skill of their massage therapists. But it is literally the worst customer service imaginable. I went in for a massage and paid for it. They spoke to me about the membership plan and how I could pay for it with my FSA (health savings account.) I signed up. But DAYS later I was in an accident and had to have emergency surgery. I had several ribs removed and was completely out of commission for 3 months. Then of course all of my health savings went to the TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars for the surgery. I to this day have no feeling on my left side. They BLEW UP MY PHONE FOR MONTHS. I had just been through extreme trauma, you would think a HEALTH AND WELLNESS company would have a little compassion. Not to mention I did not receive a single massage...they did not lose money on me. I explained over and over the situation and they just flatly did not care and have sent me to collections, so their lawyer calls me threatening and they have wreaked havoc on my credit. They want me to pay $719 for services I NEVER RECEIVED. Horrible business practice. read more
