I'm forever going to be a beginner at sewing since I don't make the time or have patience to take…read morethe classes. Having said that, I always look hopeless and confused when I walk into fabric and notion stores. The customer service representatives always spot me right away. Luckily, I found Sew What's New (fyi: one of the most clever and cute business names I've come across). They helped guide me in the right direction as far as finding specific materials that I needed for my project...things that I had never heard of. They seem popular as the shop was full for one of their early morning classes. Friendly and ready to assist...no matter how dumb you think you're question might be. A little more pricey but worth it for me since I would be saving on gas to go to their competitors locations across town. Great location too!

The most recent visit, today, while fulfilling in fabric, was largely disappointing when it came to the staff. We walked in, we were greeted. We told them we're just browsing and they offered their help if we need anything. We said thank you, and moved around the store. Young lady comes up to us, asks if we need any help, we say we're just browsing and will let her know if we need anything. What struck me as odd, was the fact that she leaned against a table close to where we were looking at items and watched us. It wasn't a casual watch, it was a " let me make sure you're not here to steal". It felt uncomfortable. And I wish I could say this is the first time this has happened. This happened at their now closed location in El Paso, also. I altogether stopped going there because of that reason. I am not sure whether we'll ever return to this store, after today. It's sad, really, because I know what I am looking for in a store and I am not there to take anything without paying.

This program has been great to teach me how to be a better parent and to stimulate my child and to make sure he is progressing and well prepared for preschool. The teachers help parents with the do's and dont's of raising a child. They also offer free classes for kids yoga, music, gymnastics, and swimming. Each class lasting 1 classes per week for 4 weeks. My son really enjoyed this! At the end of the program (shortly after your child turns 3 years old), they give you an evaluation of your child's progress. They give you a transition meeting where the teachers meet with the parents and preschools to determine which school is best for your child and if your child should attend school full time or half day, in the early bird or late bird class. I high recommend this program especially if you're an at home mom who has the extra time with your children.

The guest dancers Aaron Smyth, Anna Lee Rohovec and Jack Stewart with the core de ballet dancing were executed flawlessly. Under the direction of Monique Foster and conductor Jorge Martinez-Rios, Foster brought classical ballet precision to the dancers' style, musicality and expressive techniques. Monique has an impressive way of bringing her dancers vitality that embodied the comedy spirit of Shakespeare's classical play. In evaluating a ballet, I look at all the elements of dance: choreography, music, lighting and costuming. I admire the Borderlands Ballet use of technique, the guest artists' dazzling performance and the corps de ballet's breathtaking artistry. Foster has incredible insights in using dancers of all ages in her performances that consist of high-speed, acrobatic storytelling with leaps, turns and sheer physical control. I can't wait to see their next performance the Nutcracker!
