There are jams and marmalades that you can buy, and a good range of seating that can accommodate largish groups. Each table is adorned with a tablecloth, and the drinks are served in cups and saucers. If you ask for tea, it comes in a teapot, resplendent with a tea cosy, with enough tea for many a refill. Food wise, a good variety of homemade cakes, from crispy cakes, to brownies and cheese scones. Hot food wise, there a jacket potatoes with a range of filings, crumpets, toast and a fine Welsh Rarebit, flavourful cheese and topped with a slice of fresh tomato, so tasty! They also serve a range of sandwiches, an afternoon tea and a savoury platter. Friendly staff, and an inexpensive menu, round off an impressive place.

All the staples are here as always - latte, cappuccino, americano etc., all in the obligatory 3 sizes. The selection of food is as impressive as the drinks from giant custard creams to granola bars, sandwiches to pastries. What sets this apart from your average Costa is the attitude of the staff, polite, helpful and enthusiastic. A great place for a flavoursome coffee at any time of the day.

I have to say that I had a VERY disappointing shop yesterday. I arrived at the store slightly after…read moreopening at 8am for a quick shop with the intent of being home by 9am (we live 10 minutes away). I bought a total of 45 items for a total cost of £84.02 I used (as always) the smart shop option in which I scanned every item that I bought and had them in two big shopping baskets. When I tried to check out and pay the system wouldn't let me. An assistant came along and said that she needed to check a few items. I have had this 2-3 times before when the rummage through the bags and check 6-10 items to make sure that I hadn't "forgotten" to scan something or was trying to steal something. This time she was told to check EVERY item which involved completely emptying both bags and checking every item and then putting everything back in my two oversized bags. I missed my meeting and worse I was made to feel like a criminal. Had I scanned every single item yes! Was it a good experience- Hell no! Did I feel like a criminal? Yes! Very upsetting- is this level of investigation really necessary?!?!

Not the biggest Sainsbury's, but it is due for an expansion in the near future, which will see the demise of the local Home Electric shop, as the store expands and the petrol is moved to improve access. The store although fairly small, has a good variety of products including a fruit and veg section, a meat and fish counter, a bakery and a delicatessen area. The store is well set out and always well stocked and tidy, which is the main failing of other local supermarkets. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the shopping experience is pleasant and relaxing. This Sainsbury's also has a small cafe area, with a variety of seating, including leather sofas. It has a small, but tasty selection of food and cold drinks. But I don't know what they do to the hot drinks, the coffee and tea taste so bad, they are barely drinkable! This is probably my favourite supermarket and we go in valiantly trying the coffee every week in the vain attempt it will get better, but it doesn't. In every other aspect this is a five star supermarket, but the hot drinks could be so much better.

As you enter there are cakes and chocolate on show to tempt you. They also have a good range of both hot and cold deli items, perfect for a lunch break or an early breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole place was impeccably clean. We had a cup of tea and coffee, with a bar chocolate for less than three pounds, remarkable value! In most cafes, one cup of coffee would be that alone!

Cannot express how small this coffee shop is but it makes for a nice meeting place and they sell a good variety of beverages and light snacks like cakes, cookies and sandwiches. This is also an internet cafe and is one of the main reasons that people frequent it.
