Bright and inviting from the outside, with a good portion of outdoor seating, ideal for the great weather we've been having. Inside seats about 30, the tables decoratively covered in embroidered tablecloths. As soon we entered we were greeted with a smiling face asking how we were, that kind of positive impression goes a long way! Although its table service, we were drawn to the tempting looking cakes under the counter, the coffee cake looked fantastic and I liked the fact you could see the staff preparing cakes, salads etc, behind the counter. But breakfast was definitely the order of the day, a decent amount of choice from teacakes to a Full English. I went for the Bacon and Sausage Sandwich with doorstep granary bread, fantastically tasty, courtesy of high quality ingredients and very fresh bread. My wife had a large teacake which was equally tasty. The drinks we had were OK, the cappuccino a little milky, and the coffee a little weak, but on the whole, a great breakfast, all the better with the wonderfully sunny outlook, this tearoom has. We will definitely return for breakfast again and to sample those tempting cakes. A few other things worth mentioning, they sell bread, cakes and rolls too, as well as making celebration cakes to order. Be aware though, the only toilet is up some steep stairs.

We'd been told its great for breakfast. Well its great for lunch too. About 8 tables and meals to go, call ahead. C went with an omelet adding mushrooms and bacon and cheese, comes with chips. I finally decided on a BLT with melted cheese and a fried egg, would I like mayo too? My first BLT, that was not on toasted bread, you could ask for it toasted but I went local. The menu has expanded of late for Sunday lunches, offering other dishes, as well as the always popular roast dinners; with the Venison Pie being my particular favourite. Each table is adorned with a tablecloth, and the drinks are served in cups and saucers. If you ask for tea, it comes in a teapot, resplendent with a tea cosy, with enough tea for many a refill. Food wise, a good variety of homemade cakes, from crispy cakes, to brownies and cheese scones. Hot food wise, there a jacket potatoes with a range of filings, crumpets, toast and a fine Welsh Rarebit, flavourful cheese and topped with a slice of fresh tomato, so tasty! They also serve a range of sandwiches, an afternoon tea and a savoury platter. Friendly staff, and an inexpensive menu, round off an impressive place.
